The Orange Tree Day Nursery small unique nursery in a beautiful rural setting, provides a magical experience for children from 6 weeks to 5 years and out of school and holiday clubs for children to 12 years. The specialist baby suite is a warm and homely environment where highly skilled nursery nurses with you will nurture and cherish your baby. For older children the nursery is blessed with an amazing outdoor play area where children can freely explore, investigate, have fun and be physically challenged in the fresh air. Dance, age appropriate sport, gardening, cooking activities and languages are available to children. The cook prepares interesting fresh, nutritionally balanced meals daily. Being a child is about learning whilst having fun....!

My little boy has thrived since joining the nursery. He just loves it so much and all the ladies are so good with him. They are so loving, caring and compassionate, the nursery really has a family feel. I was worried about him joining the nursery given his multiple food allergies but accommodations
have been made for him and he hasn't missed out at anything because of it. I am glad my friend recommended Orange Tree Day Nursery @ Mickleover and I would do the same without hesitation!

Absolutely fantastic nursery. Always greeted with a smile and feel safe knowing my child will be going to have a fun day and will be well looked after. I'm always impressed how all the staff (from all departments) know my child's name. The Christmas fair confirmed that I had made the right decision
with my choice of nursery for my child, the staff were so friendly and fun!

My daughter is happy at the nursery. She enjoys her time to the extent she wants to stay longer. Girls are nice and friendly. She started just a few months ago and she settled very well with no problems.

Excellent care provided within the nursery. My daughter is extremely happy to go there each day. She is very keen to play and meet her favourite teacher at the nursery.
As a mother, it gives me peace of mind when my daughter mentions she is happy at the nursery.
Friendly atmosphere and staff.

would highly recommend this nursery to anyone willing to get admission for their little ones.

Staff are always the most accommodating they can be, always polite, friendly and happy to help. The orchard is an amazing place for the children to play and learn, and there's a choice for Spanish lessons as well as developing IT skills too.
Very happy we chose The Orange Tree, couldn't imagine sending
my child anywhere else!

I have nothing but nice things to say about Orange Tree Mickleover! From the moment we looked around the staff were so accommodating; helping a very emotional mama who was leaving her baby. Both Dad and I fell in love with the setting. Not only the staff but the set up and engaging activities laid out.
Not forgetting the orchard itself! We just knew our little 3-year-old would fall in love. And she did. She is excited to go every morning and it's the first time she openly tells us what she has done with her day and who she has played with with such enthusiasm. And on the mornings where she has struggled, she is welcomed with loving and caring cuddles to settle her.
Honestly; Five staff members have all had such a positive impact on my little girl- I will be sad when she has to leave. But I know that this team are preparing her well for her next adventure in September!

Our daughter has been attending this nursery for the last 16 months and we couldn't be happier. She absolutely loves her time there, always coming home happy. The nursery has lots of outdoor space which is very important to us. The communication is fantastic and the staff are wonderful. We highly recommend!

Absolutely love everything about this nursery.
The staff, in every room, with every interaction, are amazing. My daughter loves them all. They treat her like one of their own.
The rooms are spacious and well-equipped.
The garden is immense - full of fun things, room to run around.
My daughter has
come on leaps and bounds since being at nursery and she loves being there.

My son really struggled with being left, and the first few drop-offs were really hard. But The Orange Tree staff have been amazing and worked really hard to make him feel at home. He is now really happy at nursery. I'm so grateful to all the staff for the care he has been shown.

Avoid! Do not send your child here! Absolutely disgraceful and a safety hazard. My child has a peanut allergy and they lost his medication and failed to inform me his EpiPen was out of date despite the medicine cabinet apparently being regularly checked. The manager here thinks she is gods gift. Never
met such a rude unprofessional person. We requested one thing from her which she didn't like so she chose to either ignore us during collection and pick-up up or talk to us via our child in some kind of baby voice. I would highly recommend you also read the reviews on another platform from staff who have worked there. It says it all!

My Daughter absolutely loves it at this nursery. From the day she started, we have never had any issues dropping her off, she is happy to walk in and wave me goodbye. The staff are so kind and friendly and bond great relationships with the kids. My daughter has now moved up a class and the transition
was easy. This, I have to say, is due to the way they look after the kids. She had an issue with eating for a few weeks and they worked with me to solve the issue and were extremely helpful with ideas and things they did while she was there. She has learnt so much being there and her communication is so much better. they also do loads of outside play time as well, which is great. I would highly recommend this nursery to everyone.

Amazing nursery. I am so glad I decided to change nursery for my son, who has been attending the preschool group of The Orange Tree for now six months. During this time, he has formed strong friendships with the other children and bonded beautifully with the staff. My little girl, a one-year-old, has
started nursery there too and similarly to my son, she loves going to nursery with a strong bond to her wonderful key person. The staff are extremely caring and dedicated and have become special to our family. The manager is incredible and passionate about what she does. The facilities are superb with huge outdoor spaces, which offers the children a strong connection with nature and lots of fun. Amazing pirate ship, mud kitchen and beautiful orchard. Same enthusiasm about the baby room. Amazing play areas and calm star-lit sleeping area. We are very grateful to the staff for the great care our children receive and strongly recommend The Orange Tree!

My son has taken to The Orange Tree Nursery very well. The staff are friendly and caring, and the atmosphere created for the children is lovely and calming. Daily activities are varied and my son seems to enjoy them. The daily feedback about how my child has been with regard to mood, eating, sleeping
and playing is very welcome. Our only minor complaint is that because there is no designated carer for our child, we have to repeat instructions to different people before they are actioned. However, we appreciate that this comes with the approach of helping the child get along with all the carers, something that we like and agree with. A little more communication between carers with regard to specific instructions would be better.

My child attended Orange Tree day nursery for three years and what a wonderful experience she had during the whole time she was there. All the staff are extremely welcoming, helpful, supportive and friendly. You can clearly see how passionate they all are, working with kids and truly make the children's
experience there a memorable one. My daughter had a lovely time at nursery and made some great relationships with the staff members and other children. What was done for her graduation was absolutely brilliant and we will never forget it. The manager and deputy manager are both incredible and deserve recognition for how extra special they are with the children. Cleanliness is superb as well as the food options/quality and education/fun/learning. The orchard is well maintained and a definite bonus to have at Orange Trees.

Our son has been going to Orange Tree for the past 8 months. I was a bit sceptical at the beginning about how he would adjust to the nursery as he was mostly at home, due to covid restrictions. But people at the Orange Tree Mickleover have helped our son to be comfortable at nursery from the day he
started. I believe he loves the place and the people in the nursery. I would highly recommend Orange Tree Mickleover for someone who is staying around Littleover/Mickleover area. We have a new born and we have decided to send her to the same nursery. Thanks to all the staff from Butterflies and Preschool. Special thanks to one member of staff, in particular, for all her support.

My daughter has been attending Orange Tree Day Nursery for just over a year now and she absolutely loves it! She started in the baby room, she is currently in the Caterpillars and she will very soon be moving up to Butterflies! The staff at the nursery are amazing, they really do care for the children
and you can see how much fun they all have. My daughter has progressed so much in her development since starting at Nursery and it is amazing to see how much she enjoys going.

I am so pleased to be sending my daughter to Orange Tree in Mickleover. She has loved it for over a year, and is just moving up into the butterfly room, and I feel emotional as her currently key workers have been so amazing. The nursery are accommodating with our need for flexible hours and have, on
occasion, allowed last-minute changes, but are always very fair when unable to. My daughter can't wait to get into the building every time and on picking up, all the children look so happy in the environment. Spotlessly clean, child centred, engaging, incredible outdoor area; I would recommend this nursery to anyone.

My son started in the nursery at 15 months and is leaving preschool this month. During this time, there have been significant improvements to the facilities, with a lot of money spent on developing both the internal and external environment, including refurbishment of all the units, new toys and resources,
and construction of a much larger preschool unit. The facilities are truly first class. However, the standout feature still remains the huge outdoor play area which is well utilised and loved by the kids. The manager is quick to deal with any minor issues that may arise and overall, the staff are lovely and clearly care a lot about the children, their safety, well-being and learning. My only real criticism of the nursery is the staff turnover. A lot of staff (even those who had been working there for a long time) have left in recent months. This is rarely communicated to parents and causes a lack of continuity of care. It also raises some concerns about staff wellbeing and welfare.

The Orange Tree at Mickleover were my first choice nursery for my two children (both of whom are still there) having looked at many in the Derby area. The nursery practitioners are well-skilled, kind, loving and nurturing in everything that they do. My two children have grown through all the rooms from
the baby suite to pre-school and they love going there! The provisions they provide for the children are age appropriate but challenging and my two have thrived there! The outside space is AMAZING and the children are outdoors in all weathers learning through play - active play and with nature. I love that everything they do there is learning through play! They go above and beyond for your child and treat everyone individually according to their needs. My two children also have allergies and they have been brilliant in ensuring that they are safe there with all the activities and food is prepared separately - very reassuring for parents. I cannot rate them highly enough.
