Fantastic nursery. My little boy has been here for 5 months and has come on leaps and bounds. he always has a great day at nursery and does so many activities. Thoroughly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a space for their child

Warm, approachable staff. My son settled quickly. Great nursery environment ever-changing to keep children's interest.
Singing time is great for developing social skills. Lots of time outdoors with forest school sessions and sports coaching.
Look forward to preschool tales as this environment seems
well prepared to encourage school readiness.

It’s a good thing my child gets excited about going to nursery that he doesn’t even have the patience to give a proper goodbye (but we do a lot of kisses and hugging while we walk down to nursery lol). Overall I am happy with the services rendered and the staff as well. I would highly recommend Cherubs
Nursery.

My son came to this Pre School in January 2023 after being moved twice before. Even from the first visit all the staff and management were polite, helpful and kind.
He adores his pre school and he has come on leaps and bounds since he started. He grows in confidence and knowledge and their encouragement
and nurturing has shown in his development.
I love how they are with him and how we get reports and photos daily so we can see what he's been up to and how his days have been. I love how they are so active in all weathers and get them outside exploring, the Coach who comes in has made a fantastic impression on him and has helped him get up and out wanting to do more.
The food menu is fantastic and has broadened his palette and I just love the staff and who they all are. I'm gutted he has to leave to go to school, cannot recommend this nursery enough.

Lovely nursery and friendly staff my baby son seems to be happy and enjoying it and he seems to be developing quickly, staff also put pictures up every now and again which is nice to see, a wonderful nursery

Cherubs South Normanton are an outstanding nursery. All the staff are friendly and professional and clearly love their jobs. My daughter has been there for nearly a year now and she loves it. They made her transition to full-time seamless and it's a battle to get her out the door to go home most evenings
as she's having so much fun. They do an amazing job with the menus and although my daughter has allergies she's always included. The facilities inside and outside promote learning and my daughter's vocabulary and sentences have blossomed, she's speaking a lot more than I expected an 18-month-old to.
Would highly recommend it to anyone nervous about sending their children to childcare.

The nursery and staff is perfect and has brought my daughter on daily. She loves all the activities and comes home every day loving her time there. The food is very highly recommend by my daughter. I have no issue at all from the nursery and know I made the right choice sending her there

Cherubs have been brilliant the staff made my child feel so welcome she loved going to nursery. Food was very varied and they encouraged my child to eat different things which helped at home too. Not to be so fussy. I would definitely recommend Cherubs.

Since we started nursery, our daughter has progressed so much and is very happy with everything and everyone. She eats so well and loves playing with her friends and just after a very short time she moved from baby to toddlers room.

All the staff at Cherubs South Normanton Day Nursery are friendly, approachable and professional. My little boy has been there since September 2020 and has gained so much confidence and has learned lots of new skills. The outdoor area is amazing and has so much to offer. The nursery are very good at
communicating and keeping you informed with general information as well as information of what your child has been up to at nursery. My son has a speech delay and the staff in preschool have been so supportive in helping him reach his targets and improve his overall communication and language skills. My son looks forward to going to nursery to see his friends and the staff and always comes home with a smile on his face.

My daughter started here at the beginning of January due to her old nursery closing down. I couldn’t be more pleased with how well she has adapted at Cherubs. She’s absolutely thriving and in a lovely little routine every day. She’s eating amazingly also. I love being able to see what she is eating
on the app and how much she eats. Seeing that she had “more than one portion” makes me giggle. She’s exploring and hitting so many development milestones which I get updates on each week! I love the golden moments, they really do make my day! I love how she's out in the fresh air almost every day. Rain, shine, wind and snow and she’s out in their gardens exploring! I enjoy all the sessions we parents can get involved with too. Stay and play and have Mother’s Day afternoon tea. And seeing all the staff dress up for world book day was amazing. The staff really do put in their best effort! I really couldn’t be happier with everything you do for my child. Thank you so much.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough. They are amazing with my little one and always have time for parents as well. Nothing is ever too much! They have a great number of activities throughout the week and it’s always something new. I can’t express the amazing work that they do and the care they provide!

Amazing nursery. My little girl has only been there nearly a year and wow! She's come on a huge amount. Staff are amazing and very encouraging in anything she does. She absolutely loves going to nursery which, as a mother, makes going to work a lot easier knowing she likes going and knowing she's in
good hands. Highly recommend to anyone!

My girls really love going and every time I go to the nursery, I am really impressed with what I see.

I have one daughter there now in preschool who goes to infant school in September and we/her and the staff will be sad to see her go as she has been nearly full-time since seven months old. Her elder sister went there since she was eleven months old and loved it. Highly recommended.

This is the first time I have used a nursery and to say I was nervous to leave my daughter would be an understatement. The updates and reassurance made this process so much easier. The staff are brilliant, my daughter views them as her best friends, she has come on leaps and bounds and I believe it
is mainly down to the nursery staff!

We were very happy with the nursery. My little boy has settled there extremely well and enjoyed coming. We were doing two mornings a week to start with, which then later changed to three full days. My son developed his social skills whilst in the nursery, and his speech has come on since he started.
He enjoys playing with his friends, and the garden is large, and there are many activities to do. All teachers are kind and caring.

I have found the staff at Cherubs South Normanton Day Nursery amazing in settling my child into nursery. Since she has moved into the preschool room, the activities they do to include the sports coach have been great to see. I find all the staff to be very friendly and take time to get to know my child.
I would definitely recommend to anyone.

We only have positive words to say about Cherubs South Normanton. Every single one of the nursery staff that my daughter has been guided by have been nothing but stars! She sees them all as her little friends. She is such an outdoorsy girl so the wonderful garden and garden toys on offer are perfect

Laura Bowler

Job Title: Area Manager Joined: 2007

Hello, I'm Laura - Area Manager for Cherubs South Normanton. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since 2007 and am incredibly fortunate to work across multiple Cherubs Nurseries during my career so far. Doing this has allowed me to really understand the expectations and the need to ensure we provide high-quality childcare every day. We take our role in the early years seriously and are always keen to go above and beyond where we can.


I am incredibly passionate about giving all children the very best start. In addition to my Area Manager role, I am the Group Safeguarding and SEND Lead. This means I work with all the nurseries to ensure we provide tailored care to those with additional needs.

Job Title: Duty Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Hello, I'm Jodie - Duty Nursery Manager at Cherubs South Normanton. I joined Cherubs in 2018 as a Level 3 Early Years Educator. I then completed the Senior Training in 2019 and was promoted to Senior Educator, and then Senior in Charge in 2020. I then stepped up to be Assistant Manager in 2021 and in 2022 completed the Leadership Training. In 2024, I became Nursery Manager. I decided to pursue a career in childcare as I wanted to be a part of a child’s journey, supporting their learning, and watching them flourish.


I am the SENDCo at South Normanton and I am Special Education Needs and Disability trained. I am a named first aider and have my paediatric first aid certificate. I have completed Derbyshire’s Safeguarding Training and I am the deputy designated safeguarding officer. I have also completed a Level 2 qualification in young people’s mental health and a Level 2 qualification in behaviour management.
