Our experience of Cherubs South Normanton has been extremely positive from day one, we feel it has given our daughter the best possible start to her early education. The facilities inside and out are outstanding, we couldn’t recommend this nursery more highly.

Fantastic handover after each session.
Nothing is too much trouble.
Exceptional when I started potty training - my daughter was helped all the way.

Our daughter started at Cherubs South Normanton in October and has been supported through the settling period with kindness and encouragement from all the staff. As parents, we have been kept up to date with our child's well-being and how she has been settling in at the nursery. She is now enjoying
her days at nursery, will happily go to members of the team and wave bye to me in the morning. Each evening we get sent a detailed account of her day which usually contains photos of her enjoying the various activities that have been set up. Overall, we have had a very good experience with the nursery and the team and would highly recommend to anyone considering.

My son enjoys his Tuesdays at nursery and I have found all the staff to be professional and caring. He gets to experience lots of sensory play. The staff have been supportive of him and understanding of his needs.

Since my daughter has started Cherubs at South Normanton she has come on so well, she absolutely loves going and I have updates at the end of each day on how she has been and what she has been up to which I love reading about! I cannot praise this nursery enough and all the staff there who work so hard
ensuring our children’s needs are all met. They always do fun, learning and engaging activities which my daughter also loves.

Cherubs South Normanton have been absolutely amazing with my children! I can’t fault them at all, really glad I chose this nursery for them! All the team are brilliant, my daughter is nervous with new people as she’s moved up rooms, but the staff are amazing and very patient with her. My son has a disability
and they are very patient with him as well and have helped massively, he has come a long way being there and I can’t thank them enough.

My daughter loves attending nursery. They provide so many crafting and investigation activities and promote outdoor learning. They are also very caring and loving towards my daughter and have previously catered for her needs regarding her sensitive skin. They offer a range of activities that cater for
the development needs curriculum and build on children’s interests. Communication is outstanding and I always feel comfortable approaching any staff member with any queries.

Cherubs is a fantastic nursery who clearly care tremendously about the children. My son comes home from each day he’s spent at nursery so happy. He’s clearly very comfortable with the nursery, as we never have tears when we drop him off either. He eats really well, they feed him amazing foods which
are well balanced and sound delicious! He plays well, with a variety of different themes and activities each day and photos from his days at nursery are wonderful to get on his diary entries. It’s clear there is plenty to do at Cherubs South Normanton. The staff are fantastic, so friendly and caring for the children. I would highly recommend this nursery and have done to a friend, who will be soon sending her son to Cherubs too.

My little girl started at the beginning of September and I am amazed at the positive change already. This is our third nursery we have tried and I can honestly say she has never looked so content at a nursery setting. Her day is always updated each afternoon on the app, so I can see everything she has
been up to, eaten and her nappy changes. The app also shows us pictures of her playing, doing activities or having trips, like going to the park.
Her confidence has grown vastly over the past three weeks, which makes me look forward to seeing how this develops over the next few years. Drop offs began with lots of tears and apprehension to leave my side, however after the third week she happily walks in with a big smile on her face. The settling in period for me is what stood out, the staff members promised to ring me after fifteen minutes on her first couple of days and they always rang before this time to ensure me that my little girl was okay. Thank you so much, it is always a pleasure bringing my child.

My child is well cared for and continues to thrive with the aid of the amazing staff at Cherubs. I have no doubt their needs are met, they have fun and enjoy playtime, whilst also having space for learning. The only thing to consider for improvements would be the content of the diaries, sometimes these
can be minimal, missing naps, food or information about potty training.

We love sending our little boy to Cherubs. The activities he gets to do are so varied and have really helped his development. We love that Cherubs teaches makaton too. The staff are all wonderful and go above and beyond supporting us where needed and marking special occasions. The app used to track
my son’s development is great and easy to use and regular communication through photos and updates allow us to see what he gets up to.
My son loves nursery and all the things he gets to do, visits out and learning experiences at nursery. The garden is a fantastic space for his little legs to blow off some steam too! Would highly recommend.

All round great experience with Cherubs, all the staff are amazing.
Sometimes I find the menu very unusual, that would be the only major change I would welcome within the nursery. I think certain meals are disliked by many of the children so should be changed. Obviously if only one or two dislike
that’s personal taste.

My two girls (aged 3 and 4)have gone to Cherubs South Normanton for a couple of years since transferring over from the other branch.
My girls adore the staff there and they are very happy. They are kept entertained and they really help to push and stimulate them mentally.
They are allowed to play
outdoors a lot and often come home with things they have made or baked.
I couldn't recommend Cherubs enough to anyone looking at a nursery in the area.
My eldest is about to leave to go to school and I want to thank all the staff for everything they have done.

My little girl has been in the baby room since April 2023 and the girls are amazing with her!
All staff go above and beyond not only for the children but for parents/grandparents to if needed.
Management are always on the other side of the phone if ever needed and will always try their best to
solve any problems.

Laura Bowler

Job Title: Area Manager Joined: 2007

Hello, I'm Laura - Area Manager for Cherubs South Normanton. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since 2007 and am incredibly fortunate to work across multiple Cherubs Nurseries during my career so far. Doing this has allowed me to really understand the expectations and the need to ensure we provide high-quality childcare every day. We take our role in the early years seriously and are always keen to go above and beyond where we can.


I am incredibly passionate about giving all children the very best start. In addition to my Area Manager role, I am the Group Safeguarding and SEND Lead. This means I work with all the nurseries to ensure we provide tailored care to those with additional needs.

Job Title: Duty Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Hello, I'm Jodie - Duty Nursery Manager at Cherubs South Normanton. I joined Cherubs in 2018 as a Level 3 Early Years Educator. I then completed the Senior Training in 2019 and was promoted to Senior Educator, and then Senior in Charge in 2020. I then stepped up to be Assistant Manager in 2021 and in 2022 completed the Leadership Training. In 2024, I became Nursery Manager. I decided to pursue a career in childcare as I wanted to be a part of a child’s journey, supporting their learning, and watching them flourish.


I am the SENDCo at South Normanton and I am Special Education Needs and Disability trained. I am a named first aider and have my paediatric first aid certificate. I have completed Derbyshire’s Safeguarding Training and I am the deputy designated safeguarding officer. I have also completed a Level 2 qualification in young people’s mental health and a Level 2 qualification in behaviour management.
