The staff that look after my little boy go above and beyond to make sure he has a great time at nursery. He enjoys doing so many things from dressing up, to baking, to getting muddy outside. He has been going to the nursery for almost 2 years and it is like his extended family. I could not ask for him
to be cared for any better!

Every one at South Normanton is so very helpful.
When we have had issues there was always someone to talk to & resolve the issue.
My child loves going & often can't get through the door fast enough!
My child does tend to cry on the way home after nursery because he enjoys it that much!!

I cannot thank the staff for all the support they have given not just both of our kids but us as parents. They've always done what is best for the kids while making sure their development is at heart. Honestly, could not have wished for a better nursery & team of staff.

We've now gone through a whole cycle at Cherubs South Normanton - from baby room at 6 months old to graduation at 4.5 years old. I couldn't imagine a better place to help my child grow & develop over the last 4 years. He is now a kind, generous, funny little boy & its massively down to the work the
nursery have done with him on feelings & being a nice person. I wouldn't hesitate before sending another child here.

My child was very happy and learned different things, because in the family we speak 2 languages, he learned English better. Every person was wonderful and supported us throughout the time he was at the nursery, it was a beautiful experience and with memories for life. Thank you very much to everyone

Our daughter has been going to cherubs since March 2025, having previously been at a childminding setting. We have been so happy with how she has settled in. From the beginning, the staff at cherubs have been so welcoming and enthusiastic with her. She has settled in so well. The app is great and is
updated all day with lots of information and pictures. We are just so happy with everything at cherubs, we cannot praise the staff in her room enough.

Our youngest daughter is currently at the nursery a couple of days a week as was our eldest daughter previously. The staff have been excellent and genuinely show such an interest in the children. The little stories at handover show you how much they have taken notice of each one. The newest app they
use gives real time updates with photos of the wonderful activities they do throughout the day. My little girl comes home beaming about her crafts and loves to show me how she has learnt new skills. She has also used makaton signs from long before she could talk and comes home with more each week. The food is varied and our daughter hasn't eaten well there.The senior staff are just as knowledgeable and hands on know the children just as well. Their outdoor space is outstanding and they spend most day out there all year and it shows in our girls living the outdoors any weather. We wouldn't have gone anywhere else it's fantastic.I feel like if we had problems they would listen and help.

The nursery has had such an amazing impact on my child's social development. Up until a few months ago my child would only ever enjoy interacting with me or when in my presence. The self confidence they have now is astounding. I wish I had put them in nursery sooner.
Whenever I have a request or a
grievance the nursery staff are always really happy to help.
Seeing how happy my child is after nursery is really lovely, and gives me the confidence that I am doing best by them.

I put my 6 month baby in for 3 full days a week, the staff were and still are absolutely amazing, she settled within a day. The way she developed in last 3 months is amazing, staff were encouraging her so much in play time and she had cuddles anytime she wanted one! Can't say enough how great the nursery

My daughter started at Cherubs South Normanton nursery in November 2024.
My daughters confidence has grown so much since being at Cherubs nursery, the staff have always been kind and welcoming.
Staff always upload pictures and give a detailed log of everything my daughter does whilst in their care
which is very reassuring. Staff always ring parents if they are unsettled during drop off, I know my daughter is happy and comfortable with staff at Cherubs as she goes to everyone with open arms.
I recommend Cherubs nursery to all parents.

Our daughter loves going to Cherubs. The staff are always cheery, welcoming and go above and beyond for my little one and us. Our older daughter went here and much of the staff are the same with some new faces and although the nursery is much busier now, it still feels a friendly and homely atmosphere.
Can't thank the staff enough for making the transition from being on maternity leave to being back at work knowing she's well looked after and happy.

Son started here in September following family caring for him during parent's working day, this was his first experience with provided care that wasn't from a family member. Understandably, we were all very nervous to see how our son would react, he has settled in superbly with the help of the nursery
staff - we had tears during drop off in the first weeks but the staff always contacted us to let us know he had settled. This morning upon dropping him off he walked in waving and blowing us a kiss with no hesitation and this is a reflection of how comfortable the staff make him feel.

Lovely nursery. The staff are very friendly and caring. My son has been here since he was 14 months old and bonded with all the staff in each room he's been in.
The outside area is fantastic and do lots of different activities which my son has loved. The food is excellent, lots of variety and healthy.
He has loved his time here and will be sad to leave, but it's time for big school.

My son has been at Cherubs from 12 months old and he is now leaving for school. He has loved his time there and is always excited to go in the morning. The staff are all fantastic and any issue raised has always been dealt with quickly.

Really loving Cherubs so far! My little one only started in May and he loves it. I was worried he'd be super nervous but the staff have made him feel so welcome and settled him in nicely. He always eats really well and loves all the outside time they have. The staff are so lovely and keep us very informed!

Lovely nursery and staff. They have a great outdoor area and make sure to spend time out there daily regardless of the weather, even with the littlest ones.
My child has been going since they were 8 months and is growing so much there. They especially enjoy forest school and all the lovely activities
such as colouring and dancing!

Amazing provider, they look after my daughter unbelievably well and she has the best bond with all staff but in particular her key worker. She’s happy to go, they understand her and both her personal and medical needs. It means when I leave her at nursery I know she’s well looked after and do not have
to worry. We appreciate them so much but a particular shout out to one staff member in particular, you are amazing!

The staff are helpful.
The food is good. My child always eats well there.
When clothing inevitably goes missing it eventually turns up a few weeks later.
Management behind the scenes is always helpful, particularly when it comes to explaining funding changes.

Job Title: Area Manager Joined: 2007

Hello, I'm Laura - Area Manager for Cherubs South Normanton. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since 2007 and am incredibly fortunate to work across multiple Cherubs Nurseries during my career so far. Doing this has allowed me to really understand the expectations and the need to ensure we provide high-quality childcare every day. We take our role in the early years seriously and are always keen to go above and beyond where we can.


I am incredibly passionate about giving all children the very best start. In addition to my Area Manager role, I am the Group Safeguarding and SEND Lead. This means I work with all the nurseries to ensure we provide tailored care to those with additional needs.

Job Title: Duty Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Hello, I'm Jodie - Duty Nursery Manager at Cherubs South Normanton. I joined Cherubs in 2018 as a Level 3 Early Years Educator. I then completed the Senior Training in 2019 and was promoted to Senior Educator, and then Senior in Charge in 2020. I then stepped up to be Assistant Manager in 2021 and in 2022 completed the Leadership Training. In 2024, I became Nursery Manager. I decided to pursue a career in childcare as I wanted to be a part of a child’s journey, supporting their learning, and watching them flourish.


I am the SENDCo at South Normanton and I am Special Education Needs and Disability trained. I am a named first aider and have my paediatric first aid certificate. I have completed Derbyshire’s Safeguarding Training and I am the deputy designated safeguarding officer. I have also completed a Level 2 qualification in young people’s mental health and a Level 2 qualification in behaviour management.
