It's been an amazing journey for our daughter at Cherubs Day Nursery. We contacted the nursery as an emergency when our childminder was taken ill and admitted to the hospital leaving us without childcare as it was unexpected. Cherubs were very efficient in arranging a visit to the premises and also
were very fast in arranging dates. They were very helpful in terms of childcare support/funding available from the government. Our daughter looks forward to going to preschool. She tells us about her day and the fact that we can use the app is amazing and track her activities. Thank you for what you do!

From the first time I came to look around, all staff made me feel at ease. My daughter instantly took to the staff and nursery.
I can not fault all staff, especially two in particular are absolutely fantastic. Nothing is ever too much trouble. All staff are friendly and polite.
Would definitely use
Cherubs South Normanton Day Nursery again and recommend to anyone looking for a nursery.

What an amazing place for my little two and half-year-old boy.
Everyone is always so lovely, and my little boy loves going every day.
Since he joined six months ago, he has come on in leaps and bounds. His speech has gotten so much better with all the activities they have done with him, and the
outdoor play is amazing. Everyone is always smiling. Such an amazing nursery.
Even on the hottest day of the year, when temperatures hit 39, they kept the children safe in the shade, with lots of water fun to keep them cool. Would highly recommend.

My little one joined Cherubs Day Nursery in September 2021 and I was very happy when I decided to choose Cherubs, their program and facilities are great. The menu is very good, staff are very friendly. I would recommend it 100%.

Staff are excellent - very friendly. My son really enjoys his time here.
The recent change in management has improved communication between the nursery and parents.
Would still like to see more on the app about activities carried out at nursery/things to expand on at home.

Since our son started Cherubs South Normanton the nursery has been nothing but caring, kind and accommodating. My son loves his time at nursery and often tells me all about his adventures and activities. Also about all his friends. The activities that are offered by the nursery extend the children's
play and allow them to prosper and achieve. My son is thriving and I would recommend Cherubs to future parents.

Fantastic nursery, our little boy has thrived so much from being here and has made some amazing relationships with the staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and always kept up to date with his progress and how he is learning etc. Outdoor space is amazing and they get to go out all year round
which we found a bonus as he loves to be outside and exploring, they also get creative and always making things as little keepsakes.

My granddaughter has attended the day nursery for quite some time, and has always finished her day with a smile on her face. I have had good communication and rapport with the staff and feel they listen and take things on board and help your and the child's needs. In the last month or so, my granddaughter
has visited pre-school and is already comfortable with this change, and the staff have identified her need to have these sessions. Well done.

Finding a nursery had to be one of the hardest things I've ever had to do! I can't express how happy I am that I found Cherubs South Normanton. It is clear that every staff member is dedicated to the care of the children and enjoy helping them blossom into the flowers they are to become. My daughter
has moved through two rooms since being there and I have always been kept updated by her key carers. They have also been there to offer me professional advice when I've sought it and supported developmental decisions that I have made for my daughter. Most importantly to me, my daughter is happy there and always enthusiastic about going. This is not just a nursery, this is a family that my daughter enjoys being a part of and I will always recommend them highly to anyone.

My son started at the being of January and has settled in really well. He has come on leaps and bounds with his speech and is starting to put sentences together now. He has formed some good bonds with the staff and uses their names at home.
The staff are friendly and always put his needs first, they
welcome him every day with a warm smile and show him attention.
On several occasions he has attended, he has joined his friend at going out to the local library and visiting the park. I found this great as it is not something all families are able to offer.

Staff are fab with my son. They are very welcoming in the morning. My son has come on loads with his speech and confidence since moving rooms. I like that they do different activities every day.

Fabulous nursery. Amazing facilities, a lot of stimulation within the setting and a lovely vast outdoor play area. Both my boys love coming and enjoy each session. When discussing any concerns, my children's key persons are always proactive and responsive.

We have really seen our daughter develop and grow in confidence at Cherubs. She has learnt lots of new songs that she loves to sing at home. The team at the nursery have been a big help, especially helping our daughter with her eating, as she previously struggled with solid food.

Laura Bowler

Job Title: Area Manager Joined: 2007

Hello, I'm Laura - Area Manager for Cherubs South Normanton. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since 2007 and am incredibly fortunate to work across multiple Cherubs Nurseries during my career so far. Doing this has allowed me to really understand the expectations and the need to ensure we provide high-quality childcare every day. We take our role in the early years seriously and are always keen to go above and beyond where we can.


I am incredibly passionate about giving all children the very best start. In addition to my Area Manager role, I am the Group Safeguarding and SEND Lead. This means I work with all the nurseries to ensure we provide tailored care to those with additional needs.

Job Title: Duty Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Hello, I'm Jodie - Duty Nursery Manager at Cherubs South Normanton. I joined Cherubs in 2018 as a Level 3 Early Years Educator. I then completed the Senior Training in 2019 and was promoted to Senior Educator, and then Senior in Charge in 2020. I then stepped up to be Assistant Manager in 2021 and in 2022 completed the Leadership Training. In 2024, I became Nursery Manager. I decided to pursue a career in childcare as I wanted to be a part of a child’s journey, supporting their learning, and watching them flourish.


I am the SENDCo at South Normanton and I am Special Education Needs and Disability trained. I am a named first aider and have my paediatric first aid certificate. I have completed Derbyshire’s Safeguarding Training and I am the deputy designated safeguarding officer. I have also completed a Level 2 qualification in young people’s mental health and a Level 2 qualification in behaviour management.
