Child 1st (Bakewell)

This is my 3-year-olds second nursery and he absolutely loves this one. Since he has been attending he has developed at such a rate and his confidence has grown immensely. The staff are fabulous, happy, patient and caring. I particularly love that when you collect your child your given feedback of what they have achieved within that session.

My daughter has been attending for over a year now and she's come on leaps and bounds. She has gained so much confidence and has become a lot more sociable. The children and staff are friendly. My daughter is mixed race and has settled in well with the other kids. We have had no issues with her settling in. Also loving the new app service. It keeps us up to date and definitely makes my day when I'm at work and get an update of my daughter learning her numbers, or at forest school, or having a song and dance. I would highly recommend them.

I can't speak highly enough of Bakewell Child 1st Nursery. The staff are all lovely and it is a very nurturing environment for the children. They spend lots of time outside which I love. The managers are great and they have been amazing in the way they have responded to Coranavirus. I couldn't have asked for more.

What a wonderful nursery, my little boy has been coming here since Oct 2017 and he absolutely loves it. The staff are so friendly and helpful and always have a 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude. His knowledge and learning surprises us every day and he’s made so many friends here. This nursery will always be a very special place for us as it’s where we saw our baby grow into a perfect little boy.

Nurturing, educational, safe and fun. Couldn't ask for more. I've always felt reassured that my children were cared for to the highest standards. Brilliant nursery and strong leadership.

I couldn't praise this nursery more if I tried! I've used/visited many nurseries and education establishment is my personal and professional life and this nursery is by far the best that I've had contact with. Any nursery is made what it is by the staff..and the staff here are just brilliant and an extended family to our daughter. They all know all of the children and all appear to love what they do! I would without a doubt recommend Child 1st to anyone whether it be your 1st child or 4th!

Fantastic nursery with even better staff. I feel so at ease leaving my little boy who has been there over a year (even the mornings he is a little clingy with mummy). I know he'll be stimulated and cared for in equal measure.

We love the nursery and would definitely recommend.

The nursery is great, they do good activities inside and outside, they do great stuff for Easter Christmas etc. My son was unsure at first but now because he was appointed a teacher to make him feel welcome he has come to love it. The staff are all so lovely and couldn't think of anywhere I would rather my child to be. Definitely recommend.

It took my daughter 2 weeks to settle when she was 10 months old and she loved her baby room key person, but at almost 3 she loves nursery now. Communication with parents has room for improvement, when it comes to receiving newsletters and information on parental consent for local trips were far too vague for me to be comfortable signing. My main concern is that my daughter is happy and is in the care of people she trusts. Generally happy with the nursery.

My daughter has been here since September 2018 and despite my apprehension initially of how well she would do and how she would behave I can honestly say I am so so pleased with everything. The activities, her counting etc has come on leaps and bounds, her speech, how she socialises not only with the staff but the other children, colours and letters, shapes! All excellent. The staff are warm and friendly the second you go to drop your children off, even taking time out to wave at the windows as you go off to work etc as it makes the child feel better. The security and safeguarding is also top notch which is something I personally feel very strongly about. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or if there was ever a sibling this nursery would be my first choice without a doubt.

My son thoroughly enjoys Bakewell Child 1st nursery. The staff are professional, welcoming, informative and always striving to improve the premises. It’s a lovely environment and he’s made many friends. He particularly enjoys forest school - bringing home each week various objects he’s made from stick men and clay insects to butterflies and wands.

My daughter started at this nursery 2 months ago after a miserable and very unsettled 9 months elsewhere. She has settled in here AMAZINGLY well. We no longer have tears the night before and unsettled sleep, she no longer cries in the mornings and isn't miserable when I pick her up. She actually looks forward to her 2 mornings here and is always beaming and full of stories of her day when I pick her up. The staff have been so patient and gentle with her, and I think the routine that they have used works so well to make her feel like she knows what is happening (wash my hands, have dinner, mummy picks me up!). I honestly didn't expect her to like it here after our previous experience, but I couldn't be happier with the progress they have made with her. Thank you so much!!!

The staff are utterly fantastic.

My little boy has been attending Bakewell since he was 7months old and is now 3. So he has already done one transition to toddlers and now in the process of transition to pre-school. I am really happy with the nursery as a whole and the staff. I especially like the help and support they have given my son with transitioning from one room to another. Also, the help and support my family have received from the management and room leaders in his time there. My son is happy there and he will continue to attend untill he goes to school. I would highly recommend them.

Our children really enjoy going to this nursery. Forest School teaching on a Monday is a highlight for our eldest, and the staff are all very kind and welcoming. The nursery has been very accommodating with extra days and changes with hours etc. My children are certainly blossoming under their care and it is great when they come home telling you all the different things they have learnt that day, particularly so recently when my child told all the names of the planets! They have a good learning structure and feedback to the parent on your child's progress. It was a lovely nursery before and the change in ownership has enabled management to implement some very progressive changes.
