Sandhills Day Nursery Alvechurch is situated in a grand, spacious, converted white house overlooking stunning views of rolling fields in the heart of Alvechurch. The nursery is the perfect setting for parents looking for a local village nursery bursting with opportunities to help their children flourish. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

A spacious nursery providing a home from home setting for children to play, learn and explore. Upstairs is where their babies start and as children become more mobile and active, the rooms downstairs lend themselves to encouraging children’s curiosity inside and outside of the nursery.

The nursery was newly renovated in June 2020; it maintains its unique home from home feeling whilst providing children with a natural, light and spacious environment.

Outside, the nursery has two secure, enclosed gardens, each providing children with different learning experiences. The top garden, fully equipped with a mud kitchen, logs, tyres, bits of tubing and much more, allows children to explore and develop their imaginations through their exploration of expressive language and creativity. While the bottom garden lends itself to supporting children’s gross and fine motor skills.

I cannot recommend Sandhills Alvechurch more highly - their care in looking after my little boy has always been second to none. They have also gone above and beyond supporting our family through a particularly difficult few months, and I will be very sad when he starts school and leaves them behind.

We absolutely love Sandhills Alvechurch. Our son has come on leaps and bounds since he started 18 months ago. The staff really take the time to get to know each child and you can be reassured that they will all get the best individual care and attention whilst they are at the nursery. I spent an extended
period of time in hospital last year which was really unsettling for our son and the nursery were like an extension of family for him in making sure he was reassured and his additional emotional needs were met.

My daughter has been attending Sandhills for a year now, experiencing two of the classrooms. I was nervous about her starting nursery but she thoroughly enjoys going. She was often teary at the start but staff have been wonderful with her. Just by how much she tells me about her day, I know she enjoys
going. I have full confidence in the staff at Sandhills who are caring and provide interesting learning experiences for the children. There is very much a family feel at Sandhills and both my daughter and I will be sad when the time comes to leave and start school.

My daughter has been coming to Sandhills since she was 6 months old and my son will be joining when he arrives this year! I couldn’t be happier with Sandhills and couldn’t recommend it enough! My daughter loves it and there’s nowhere else I’d trust with my children! I credit Sandhills a lot when I discuss
how well my daughter talks, potty trains etc I really think they have played a massive part in her development! The staff are all so lovely and you can tell they really care about your child, it’s in an amazing setting and my daughter loves going to play outside and in the field out the back. My daughter only ever says good things and always comes out happy at the end of the day. We get regular updates and photos on the EYlog app telling us about her day and her targets which is fab! I 100% would recommend!

Our daughter has been attending Sandhills Day Nursery since she was 4 months old. She is very happy there and we would highly recommend this nursery to other parents. The staff is caring and always engages the babies in different activities such as painting, sensory play, reading books, going for walks
in the village, etc. We loved the little cards and gifts they prepared for birthdays, Father’s Day and other events. The nursery has a very good tracking system that gets updated daily so each day we know what our baby ate, how long she napped for and the activities she took part in. The nursery has an app that is updated regularly and that allows me and my husband to have a good idea of what our daughter is doing during the day and the progress she is making against her developmental milestones. There are regular parents evenings in which the main carer provides more in-depth observations and advice about our daughter: this was very useful. Again, overall we highly recommend this nursery.

A friendly setting where the focus really is on each individual child. They are encouraged to try different activities, foods and interact with children of all ages. Our child has had significant progress whilst being at Sandhills. The staff are all welcoming and approachable and always willing to discuss

My children are very happy at Sandhills - the staff are excellent and caring. They nurture the children and provide them with lots of varied and interesting learning experiences. It's lovely to see my children develop and this is supported by Sandhills. I have no concerns about recommending Sandhills

My youngest has a rare eye condition and has just started Sandhills in Alvechurch. The staff there have been very supportive of her and it makes returning to work easier knowing she is been given the next possible care.
She happily plays with the other children and seeing updates on the EY Log on
a regular basis is brilliant, it also gives us a chance to show the staff what she gets up to when she’s not at nursery.
My older daughter has attended Sandhills since she was one and is now in her last room/year. She can sometimes be shy and nervous, the staff are very good at increasing her confidence and her learning g of letters and phonics has come on leaps and bounds since September.
Can’t fault the place or staff. It has felt like I’ve sent my girls to extended family to be looked after - what more could you ask for?

We have two children who attend Sandhills Day Nursery in Alvechurch and have always been highly impressed with the care provided by all the staff. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and really take the time to get to know the children well.
The building is bright and cheerful, with the children's
artwork decorating all the walls. There is a lovely outside play area, which the children use regularly.
The meals are all prepared freshly on site and are always enjoyed by our two boys (often more than home cooked meals!). The staff give daily reports at home time and keep us well informed with an electronic log that includes weekly photos, videos and narrative accounts of activities the children have done.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Sandhills Alvechurch as a wonderful place to care for your children.

I was made very comfortable with leaving my child from the very first day.
The consistent communication and daily updates on activities and events throughout the week never fail to make me smile.

Hello, I'm Bev and I'm the Nursery Manager here at Sandhills Day Nursery Alvechurch. I am qualified NNEB, Management Level 5, PFA.


We have a caring staff team, who are dedicated to ensuring our children have the best start in life. They create strong bonds with the children and their families so we have an all-inclusive environment for the children to develop their own unique personalities. We are where the adventure begins and the fun never ends.
