Sandhills Day Nursery Alvechurch is situated in a grand, spacious, converted white house overlooking stunning views of rolling fields in the heart of Alvechurch. The nursery is the perfect setting for parents looking for a local village nursery bursting with opportunities to help their children flourish. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

A spacious nursery providing a home from home setting for children to play, learn and explore. Upstairs is where their babies start and as children become more mobile and active, the rooms downstairs lend themselves to encouraging children’s curiosity inside and outside of the nursery.

The nursery was newly renovated in June 2020; it maintains its unique home from home feeling whilst providing children with a natural, light and spacious environment.

Outside, the nursery has two secure, enclosed gardens, each providing children with different learning experiences. The top garden, fully equipped with a mud kitchen, logs, tyres, bits of tubing and much more, allows children to explore and develop their imaginations through their exploration of expressive language and creativity. While the bottom garden lends itself to supporting children’s gross and fine motor skills.

Really nice and helpful staff. My son loves his days there, and I am extremely satisfied as we enter month four. Communication of what he has been up to (pictures and activities) is also awesome. They are even very understanding if we are running late for breakfast.

Sandhills Day Nursery (Alvechurch) is a brilliant nursery - the staff always go above and beyond. I’ve sent both my children, and both have come on leaps and bounds.
My youngest, a “lockdown baby”; I thought he may not take well to the nursery, but goes in easily and comes out happy.

Both of my children have attended Sandhills Day Nursery (Alvechurch), and I have been delighted with the care they have received. They both loved going into nursery and were consistently happy and settled. The nursery has a warm and supportive atmosphere, and communication is excellent.

Both of my boys went to Sandhills. They loved every minute! They felt safe and comfortable throughout. It is a magical nursery full of people who really care about the children. It is a one of a kind wonderful place that I miss going to now both of my kids are at school.

My daughter started at Sandhills Day Nursery (Alvechurch) in January 2020 when she was only 8-months-old. Since day one, I have felt content and happy leaving her in their care. I love the daily updates via the app and know how well she is cared for.

Our son loves nursery; he always runs to the door and jumps in! Every day is different for the children, and they learn through play. By the sounds of it, the carers engage in conversation with the children, and the children appreciate this respect.

Sandhills Day Nursery (Alvechurch) is a fabulous nursery. My son has attended part-time since he was 9-months-old and the nursery staff have been supportive at all stages of his development. Sandhills Day Nursery (Alvechurch), we have found to be extremely supportive of our little one since he joined the nursery. Nothing has been too much trouble, and our little one always has a smile on his face at handover. Seeing the progress pictures as he develops and takes part in activities is something
we appreciate and reassuring on his development.

I was quite nervous about my 1-year-old son (firstborn!) going to nursery, particularly as he was a lockdown baby, but it’s probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for him. He absolutely loves it and has come on leaps and bounds since he started.


The manager and the team are wonderful

with him and genuinely care about him. He’s got a few allergies, but they work really hard to ensure he still has lots of lovely food - he actually eats more at nursery than he does at home!


Couldn’t recommend it highly enough, and I know the other parents I speak to are incredibly happy too. Whenever he leaves, any staff member walking past gives him a big wave and a lovely goodbye.


Thanks to everyone there for doing such a wonderful job - he is very happy.

When we were looking for a nursery for our daughter, Sandhills nursery Alvechurch was exactly what we were looking for.
The village setting is idyllic and feels safe and friendly. The outside space (large field for play/activities, playground and garden) within the grounds is perfect.
From the very
first day, I felt completely comfortable leaving my daughter in the care of the staff, safe, comfortable, clean environment of the nursery.
The staff are very friendly, welcoming and caring, and my daughter has a great relationship with them. She has been attending for 16 months now (from 3 years old) and has enjoyed every minute of it. As a family, we will be sad that she is leaving in a few months to start school in September, but when the time comes, our younger daughter will definitely be attending Sandhills at Alvechurch.
I would recommend Sandhills Nursery at Alvechurch highly to anyone looking for a nursery.

Sandhills is excellent. I have sent all three of my children there with my youngest still currently attending.
The staff are amazing, they genuinely care about the children, and a lot of the staff have been there since I sent my eldest (8 years ago).
They have lots of outside space, and they go outside
every day, pre-Covid, they’d also walk into the village.
I feel my child is very well looked after in a home from home.

Lovely staff, fantastic facilities and the setting and location couldn’t be better. Plenty of parking for easy drop off/collection. Every day seems to be filled with interesting and fun activities for the children, and the staff are encouraging and caring.

My fourth child now attends Sandhills Day Nursery (Alvechurch) and like his older siblings, is having a wonderful time. The great strength of this nursery has always been that staff tend to stay here for a long time, providing stability and consistency for the children. The staff are warm, welcoming
and always make an extra effort for special occasions. Such as with dressing up, decorating the nursery and providing new food experiences. There has always been a big emphasis on displaying the children’s work in the nursery, which I really like to see. The outdoor space is excellent and the children are taken to play on the large field within the grounds, which has beautiful countryside views in the background. The math's work and phonics teaching undertaken at Sandhills Day Nursery (Alvechurch) has proved to have prepared my children well for starting primary school.

The genuine care given by the staff at Sandhills is the reason the nursery has been the daycare choice for my 3 children. It is clear that the children trust and adore the staff, learn and develop each day and have lots of fun in the process. The addition of a new cabin room recently has been welcome.
Some more cosmetic improvements and maintenance of the other rooms would also be helpful as the nursery can appear tired. I cannot fault the warmth and dedication of the staff, however, and this is most important to me. The pride my children show in their achievements is symbolic of how positive an impact the nursery has on them.

My son is happy at the nursery and has made good friends and has enjoyed all the carers he has had to date. Some of the rooms are not that big in size, so the important thing is that they are doing lots of different activities each day to keep them occupied, learning and having fun. It appears they
are from the regular updates and photos on the Eylog app I receive.
All staff are very friendly. My son enjoys the garden very much and running on the fields. Thanks v much.

Hello, I'm Bev and I'm the Nursery Manager here at Sandhills Day Nursery Alvechurch. I am qualified NNEB, Management Level 5, PFA.


We have a caring staff team, who are dedicated to ensuring our children have the best start in life. They create strong bonds with the children and their families so we have an all-inclusive environment for the children to develop their own unique personalities. We are where the adventure begins and the fun never ends.
