Bright Kids Crabbs Cross has grown alongside generations of local families since opening in the heart of Redditch in 2001.
The nursery spans two adjoining buildings, creating generous indoor spaces for babies, toddlers and preschool children. Each age group has an environment designed around the way they move, communicate, play and learn, while babies also benefit from their own dedicated garden.
Outside, the extensive grounds offer much more than one shared play...

My daughter loves going to afterschool club. She loves learning and playing with other children. She tells me what they were doing and what they had for a snack. The outside area is big and has lots of different things to play with. Happy child, happy mum.
My son has attended Bright Kids since Last April and he has come on leaps and bounds since. He looks forward to going and is sad at the weekends when he cannot attend. His social skills have developed really well and he is always coming home with new ideas, or a new friend he has played with. Even if he has had a difficult day he is met with kindness and the team put in place ways to help him tackle these difficulties such as quiet time or researching how we handle big emotions with him at home. I cannot find any fault with this nursery. They give him snacks, they give him activities, they broaden his knowledge and feed his inquisitive mind. What a wonderful team! Will definitely be looking to send my youngest when the time comes.
My son has been attending Bright Kids Crabbs Cross for over 2 years now. I would never want to send him anywhere else he is so happy there. My experience is that every member of staff there cares about each child as an individual. He is learning all the time there as well as having lots of fun. As a household with a parent in the emergency services they are incredibly flexible and understanding with our schedule. Will definitely be looking to send any future children there too.
My two boys currently attending love all the activities they do, the different rooms and outside space they get to play in and the routine of the day. They always have so much fun. I can’t believe how well they have developed so Thank you!!
Very pleased with staff/management and how they got our son a place so quickly and the communication for the dates I need. Where 100% so glad our son loves the place as taken to the staff. Our son has ASD but staff said he is very talkative and well mannered since he has been there for the last few days. I am happy with the organisation and how it is run. We will use this establishment for the future trust of our son.
The encouragement and challenge they have given ensure my daughter is more than ready for Big School. Introducing phonics and numeracy alongside play. I highly recommend this nursery. We couldn't have asked for anymore!
I am extremely happy my son is at this nursery. The staff are very enthusiastic. I strongly believe that my son has been given a wonderful, enjoyable and caring start to his nursery and school life in the future and are confident this will reflect on his progression into his next class at the nursery. Thank you all very much for all the support and kindness you have shown and given to my son and us.
Bright Kids Crabbs Cross brilliant nursery, I would definitely recommend them. Lovely staff. Lovely surroundings. Children all seem happy every time I pick and collect. Very good quality of toys for all ages. The equipment is all in good condition. Always felt welcome at Bright Kids. Always felt comfortable having my child in this caring place of safety and pleased with my sons learning skills. He has really come on whilst being at Bright Kids. Will miss them a lot.
The activities are just brilliant and the fact they can use the garden anytime is always a winner.
Very sad to be leaving to head off to big school.
Thank you for everything
I am very happy with this setting, I have only been using them for a short period of time due to the fact that I started to have problems with my previous nursery and was in the best interest to move settings. They were very welcoming when attending the setting for a visit and answered all questions with out hesitation. All staff are very pleasant and interact with the children and work with their interests. I have no issues with this nursery and they are now working with my child to get him ready for school. The monthly cost is higher than I previously paid but for what is provided for the children I do not mind, The children get breakfast, morning snack, lunch and then tea at no extra cost. They also offer a holiday club which I have registered my child for as he his already familiar with the staff.
The nursery is really flexible and are great at communicating with you via email and the telephone.
My daughter is starting school in September and is already great with numbers and letters thanks to Bright Kids.
Thank you for making childcare so worry-free.
Very polite and helpful staff for my son who may have autism. Very patient and friendly and always willing to go extra mile to provide best experience for my son. My son has amazing relationships with staff and is always excited to attend.
This is a wonderful nursery that my step-son has been attending, he has really enjoyed himself every time he's gone. The staff are lovely people who always put his needs first, and since he has started he has been thriving mentally, verbally and socially, and the new skills he learns, he brings home with him and it's a joy to see him grow and develop. He is always clean and tidy, well-fed, and extremely happy when I and his father pick him up. This truly is an excellent nursery and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you for supporting and helping him with his suspected autism.
My son is 4 and starting school in September. He's great with his letters and numbers thanks to Bright Kids and is looking forward to school.
My daughter loves the staff and runs in happily every morning to see them.
All the staff seem to be great with my daughter. It is a shame we still can’t go in to pick her up and see them playing etc but they always come out with a list of what she’s been up to. Being born early in the school year I think that mainly thanks to nursery she could go to school comfortably this year but unfortunately has to wait another year. I’m sure they’re used to this and provide some more challenging activities for her next year. Would also be nice to see more regular updates on tapestry. On the whole it seems a great nursery, would just love to know/see a bit more about what she gets up to.
My children love all the staff and enjoy their time while there. I'm looking forward to being able to experience more when the restrictions are lifted.
My son has been at Bright Kids at Crabbs Cross since he was 14 months old, he has learnt so much, and done so many exciting things. I fully trust the lovely caring staff there and would highly recommend Bright Kids nurseries.
Although I have chosen the month December my review reflects Bright Kids all year round, my daughter has been going here for the past 2 years and in that time I have changed my job role within my company several times, the staff have been nothing but supportive and managing to swap and change my daughter's days/times round without any issues. My daughter is well looked after by all the staff, they really do go above and beyond for the children and parents. The management team are very hands-on (as a manager myself I know how hard that can be at times). I'm also trying to get my daughter into a school close to Bright Kids so she can continue to go to club, come September this year.
Very well trained staff, good food and good activities programme. It could more clean especially for little children.
My son attends after school club twice a week and he loves it. The nursery staff are easy to deal with and are really friendly and helpful.

Paula joined Bright Kids in May 2020 and brings many years of experience in early years practice and leadership. Before moving to Crabbs Cross, she worked as Nursery Manager at Bright Kids Evesham, an Outstanding-rated nursery, and previously managed another Outstanding nursery for ten years.
She holds a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management. Her experience includes both nursery management and working directly with children across all early years age groups, giving her a strong understanding of what children, families and practitioners need to thrive.
She is particularly passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and ensuring every child feels understood, included and able to reach their full potential. She believes that strong relationships, consistent leadership and a nurturing environment are at the heart of high-quality early years care.

Lorraine has been part of the Bright Kids family for more than 27 years (when we first opened our Bright Kids Studley setting), beginning her career as a Nursery Assistant with a Childcare Diploma and progressing through a variety of roles into nursery leadership.
Over the years, she has continued to develop her knowledge and experience, achieving a Level 4 qualification in Early Years and a Level 5 qualification in Management. She also holds a designated senior leadership role within the nursery, helping to support the safety, wellbeing and development of the children and team.
Childcare has always been a true passion of Lorraine's. As a mum of two, she understands how important it is for families to know their children are cared for, encouraged and given every opportunity to develop at their own pace and reach their full potential.
She said: "One of the most special parts of working at Crabbs Cross for so many years has been watching generations of families grow with us. I have seen countless children thrive during their time at the nursery, and it is incredibly rewarding when some of those children return years later with children of their own. I feel very proud to be part of such a long-standing nursery community and to continue supporting our children, families and team each day."

Katie has been part of the Bright Kids team since 2014, beginning her early years career through an apprenticeship and steadily progressing through a variety of roles. Over the years, she has worked as a Room Leader, Senior Practitioner and Third in Charge before moving into her current position as Deputy Manager.
Before joining Bright Kids, she spent three years working as a private nanny, which gave her valuable experience of supporting children and families within their own homes.
She is passionate about continuing to develop as an early years leader and in August 2025, Katie completed her Early Years Leadership qualification.
She said, "I am excited to begin a new mastery course in September 2026 to further strengthen my knowledge and practice. I have a genuine passion for working with children and feel privileged to watch them grow in confidence, discover their interests and develop into their own unique characters. I believe every child deserves to feel known, valued and encouraged throughout their early years."
Outside of nursery, Katie is a mum of three and enjoys walking, swimming and spending quality time with her family and friends.
