Busy Bees Birmingham Kings Heath is a wonderfully warm, homely atmosphere and lots of facilities for children to enjoy.

Having gained 'outstanding' from Ofsted in 2017, the teaching and learning of children are prompted through each child's key interest to meet developing needs and push to achieve the next step.

Our daughter started attending in January 2020 and has absolutely thrived since coming here to Busy Bees at Birmingham Kings Heath. The staff are amazing and went the extra mile to ensure she settled in and was happy. We had no issues with her development and with the use of the Parentzone app we were
given daily and hourly feedback from her key workers. Over the past year, we have seen for ourselves how confident our daughter has become both in terms of her social and emotional development and we feel this has been down to her key workers. In spite of Coronavirus, the nursery went the extra mile to ensure safety and wellbeing and we had and have no concerns. A big thank you to the centre director and all of the staff.

Both of our boys go to Busy Bees at Birmingham Kings Heath, we are very pleased with everything about this nursery, everyone is so caring and friendly.

My son has attended Busy Bees at Birmingham Kings Heath since he was 12 months old; he is now 4 and I have never doubted my choice to send him here. You can tell the staff genuinely care about the children and my son calls them his best friends! I love the recently implemented “ParentZone” which is
an app that informs parents/carers what their child has eaten, provides feedback and photos of what their child has been up to and observations so you can see how they are progressing. It really makes my day to see what my son has been getting up to!

I’m very pleased with the nursery and the service it offers. My daughter seems to love attending and you can see the progress she has made since she started. The staff are all extremely helpful. There has been a recent change to the app which has been a mixed blessing. The regular photos we now have
access to are wonderful but I do miss the day to day contact with staff.

I can highly recommend this nursery. The staff go above and beyond their duties in both the care of children and communicating with parents. Their response to the Covid-19 pandemic has only served to shine a greater light on this. Thank you to all staff!

Our son attends this nursery and we could not be happier. I was an extremely nervous parent and cried for two weeks solid dropping him off when he started in September but the care that the staff give him and us as parents is amazing. He has come on leaps and bounds and loves going to "beeeeeezzzz".
All the staff are wonderful. A shout out to 4 members of staff in particular who our son talks about non-stop at home. The manager is also never too busy to answer any questions or concerns. The new app is amazing and we get online real-time updates including observations, assessments and just fun pictures of what he is doing throughout the day.

My children have attended Busy Bees for 3 days a week since turning 3 in August. Before this, they attended once a week. I have been incredibly impressed with the nursery, the staff, the environment and the learning. It is a happy and safe place which my children love attending. Staff go above and beyond
to make learning fun and creative. The activities are well planned and appropriate, they are often related to the children's individual interests. Extra support was given to the children when they were reluctant to attend when they started in the preschool room which has allowed them to bond well with the staff and now are confident and happy to attend. I have no complaints at all and would recommend to anyone. As a teacher, I wanted an environment that would support my children before they begin school and this nursery is fantastic.

Our three-year-old daughter has been going to Busy Bees for nearly a year now and has been very happy there. Since we had moved house at the time, we were first a bit worried how quickly she would settle in the new environment, but she really loves going to nursery. There is a good balance of outdoor
and indoor activities and we especially like the high-quality food that is cooked on site. Last Christmas the kids prepared a nativity play, which meant lots of singing and dancing at home as well, and the nursery offers some extra activities like sports club (for a very small fee), which we attended earlier this year and which gave us lots of ideas for activities. There is also the opportunity to borrow books from the rooms' bookshelves to share their favourite stories at home. The carers/teachers are all very friendly and helpful and also encourage the children to help with tasks like tidying up at the end of the day, which made it easy for us to introduce our own tidy up routine at home.

My daugher has been going to Busy Bees since she was one. We are so happy with the nursery. They have helped my daughter to grow in every way you would you want to. They are very supportive and communicate well when she has both good days and bad days.
I like that they cook fresh food every day and
have themed menus to vary the children's diets.
When we first sent our little one to the nursery it was owned by another company. Since Busy Bees took over, there has been a lot of investment into decor and resources for children.
They have a good level of staff retention which I think is important for your child throughout their (potentially) 5 years there.
If I had another child I would no hesitation in sending her/him to this nursery.

Such a friendly nursery. The staff are warm and welcoming and have invested so much into my children. Communication is great and my children have been happy and settled there since day 1. The food is cooked from scratch on the premises too!

We found ourselves at this nursery following the temporary closure of our nursery in Longbridge. The manager and the team at Kings Heath welcomed us with open arms and immediately put my worries at ease. The nursery is clean, spacious and the children seem genuinely happy to be there. My son soon settled
in and built strong relationships with a number of staff members and children at the nursery. The garden is a gorgeous space with lots of activities for the children to get stuck into. My son has thoroughly enjoyed his holiday at Kings Heath and I'd definitely recommend this nursery to anyone in the area. Thank you!

We have three children at Busy Bees, ranging from 7 months to 4 and a half years. Busy Bees is a loving, caring and nurturing place. Our children are extremely happy there and are progressing well in all areas of their development.
My husband and I are key workers and Busy Bees have been so helpful
and accommodating recently, providing their usual standard of excellent care in very trying circumstances.
We would thoroughly recommend them.

I am really happy with how quickly my child has settled into the Infant Suite. The staff that work in that room are amazing and extremely brilliant with my baby. The care and love they give him is reassuring and I know when I leave my baby he is always happy and smiling.

The nursey is fantastic and ticks all the boxes for my son.


He has come on so much since going there and is really happy. All the staff finds the time to go through everything they have done throughout the day with you which I think is great.

My daughter has attended this nursery since she was 5 months old. Staff are very accommodating to the routines we had at home and their handover sheets are a really useful way of communicating. My daughter has enjoyed every day she's spent there and comes home tired which tells me she has constantly
been stimulated. I cannot thank the staff enough for the love they put into their work. They always provided excellent learning opportunities and are always thinking about the next step. They have made transition to school so much easier! The food is all cooked on-site and is well balanced, creative and child-friendly. The recent refurbishments have greatly benefited the children who now have an even better space to play and learn and grow. My only wish is that she didn't have to grow up so fast and move on!
Keep up the amazing work. You never know, child number 2 might make an appearance one day!

My daughter has been at this nursery since she was 11 months old! She has loved it, the staff have all been really caring, she has learnt a lot of key stage 1 fundamentals and is certainly ready for school!

I love this nursery. My child has been there since being a baby and they feel like family. My youngest has now started and I couldn’t ask for a better experience. They do a lot of different activities with the kids but are also open to suggestions from the kids and parents. My children have both learned
a lot and I feel the oldest has been helped to get ready for school. The current manager and senior staff go out of their way to make you feel supported and the room staff really show care and affection for the kids which is very important to me. Thanks!

It was a total nightmare to begin with looking for a suitable Nursery. It was such a big thing for me but after viewing Busy Bees I felt at total ease, they accommodated not just for my daughter but on how I felt, so we had a week of settling in for just an hour a day, which was perfect. I got used
to the staff and the room and my daughter got used to familiar faces before she started full time.
She also has allergies which have been adhered to beyond expectations.
My mind is now at rest and I have a happy baby daily so thanks guys.

Job Title: Centre Director

I’m Maria Shahid and I am the Centre Director here at Birmingham Kings Heath. 
Having completed a BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies, I have always prioritised ensuring every child gets the very best start in life.
Throughout my career, I have worked at a range of Early Years Education settings and thrive to work with the team, families and children to achieve outstanding outcomes for all.
I have a genuine passion for exciting, enabling, environments and will often be found exploring these with our children extending their learning and creating awe and wonder in moments of brilliance. 
Being a parent myself, I am fortunate enough to be able to see through the eyes of a parent and educator which pushes me even more to ensure that the curriculum we deliver takes everybody on a journey to reach their maximum potential. 
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my two-year-old son, who is thriving at Busy Bees with me.
I look forward to meeting you all and welcoming you into our family.
