Busy Bees Birmingham Kings Heath is a wonderfully warm, homely atmosphere and lots of facilities for children to enjoy.

Having gained 'outstanding' from Ofsted in 2017, the teaching and learning of children are prompted through each child's key interest to meet developing needs and push to achieve the next step.

* Enjoyable mealtimes encouraging communication and language
   development. Children enjoy delicious meals prepared by the onsite chef
   from menus that have been NHS accredited.

* Weekly Spanish classes with Nicky's Little Linguists.

* Weekly physical activities with Premier Active Sports.

* Monthly cookery club to develop independence and exploration of what
   makes the children healthy.

* Parent workshops and stay and plays to spend quality time engaging in
   activities.

This nursery has changed our lives. Our daughter is much happier than she was at her previous nursery and her development and confidence have grown in the three months she's been here. Children are always happy, the staff are attentive and passionate, and there are lots of opportunities for family engagement.
We were worried about the lack of parking and a small garden area, but the quality of care and experience has overridden that. Would recommend it without hesitation.

We are really, really happy with the high standards of care, education and kind-hearted nurturing our daughter has had whilst at Busy Bees Kings Heath. I will always be grateful for the resourcefulness of all the staff involved in keeping the place open during Covid.
Our daughter really enjoys her
days with you and looks forward to going in. The tennis has been great, as well as the zoo being brought in to visit today (Earth Day); they were learning about pollution, which is sad but great.
I think the nursery gives good value for money (we probably make the most of it with the early drop off’s!).
I wouldn’t hesitate to give constructive feedback, but I honestly have nothing negative to say; I trust you to know your job, and from what I see, you Busy Bees are doing a great job - thank you.
I also really enjoyed the parent workshop - that was a good idea.

Warm and friendly staff. My daughter is happy and settled. She is very well cared for and they adapt activities and ideas to meet her interests. My daughter speaks very fondly of nursery. Snapshots are always clear and consistent and show that staff 'know' my daughter extremely well.

My daughter loves it at Busy Bees! She always looks forward to going in and tells me that she wishes she went every day (which would be very expensive). The staff are always lovely and welcoming and I have never had any worries or concerns leaving my daughter in their care.

The staff team at Busy Bees are fantastic, friendly, helpful and caring. The relationships formed with the children and the excellent learning and activities are key to the child’s development.
We have enjoyed attending a number of parent workshops recently to see the children in their nursery environment
and have been made to feel very welcome.

Returning to work the second time and my eldest starting school and trying to juggle it all was hard. But bringing my youngest back to Busy Bees, Kings Heath was like dropping him off with family. It was such a comfort. It’s hugely helped me to know straight away he’ll be looked after so well and be
happy and cuddled if he’s sad. The settling-in periods/handover and time spent getting to know your child is wonderful. The app updating you on meals/nappies etc, means you get a lovely catch-up when you collect about what he’s been up to that day. Love the photos throughout the week too, seeing what he’s up to.
My eldest went all the way through to preschool and didn’t want to leave!

The team at Busy Bees Kings Heath have been very supportive of the growth of my child. He has grown in confidence and has formed a very strong bond with his key worker and another nursery nurse. You can clearly tell that they love working with my child and him and vice versa. Together we have managed
to potty train him and help him develop a positive daily routine. He clearly enjoys learning new things at the nursery and making friends. I would recommend this nursery for any child as children really grow are happy, and will have lots of confidence at the end of the day. Great job, Busy Bees, Kings Heath.

My daughters started attending Busy Bees at the start of January 2023. We have found the staff warm and welcoming and our children have settled in well. They are always met with a warm greeting in the morning and they have formed good relationships with staff. The communication between the nursery
and parents is very good and we receive regular updates about daily things (food, sleep, nappies), as well as a round-up of the day when we collect them. My daughters appear to do a range of activities, as well as spending regular periods of time outside. We have enjoyed the different parent workshops where we get to see our children in their setting.

Our two daughters attend Busy Bees. The staff are fantastic, they really care about our children and have a great rapport with them. They put on a wide variety of activities. There is a big outdoor space so children spend lots of time outside in the garden. Our children run in smiling and run out smiling,
desperate to tell us everything they've been up to. Have recommended it to several other families. Thank you to all the staff at Busy Bees.

My eldest daughter attended Busy Bees and loved it and now my youngest is there. We wouldn’t have sent her anywhere else. The staff are knowledgeable and provide opportunities to my child to develop and grow. There is such a variety of activities, from garden play, sand and water, play dough, baking
and crafts to dancing and reading. My daughter shouts ‘Busy Bees!’ every time we drive past. I love seeing pictures of what she has been doing and it very much feels like a family. Highly recommend!

My daughter has been going to Busy Bees for over three years now and she loves it. My husband and I have been really happy with the care and activities they provide. All of the staff are lovely and my daughter has absolutely thrived under their care. They have prepared her really well for starting school
and I am confident thanks to Busy Bees she will start school in a very strong position. The food is varied and healthy and the range of activities they do with the children is brilliant.

The nursery keeps parents informed of developments and changes and always targets a positive approach. Our child is always happy to attend and smiles when seeing staff. As long as our child is happy and progressing to which she is and in a happy manner, we are happy.

Staff at Busy Bees are always warm and welcoming. My son has a very good relationship with this keyworker and gets on well with the other nursery nurses in his year group. He has a secure attachment to them. My son is happy at nursery which is the most important thing. I trust the staff's care and expertise
when he is at Busy Bees. My son has also made some friends at nursery and I think this is due to the happy atmosphere at the nursery.

It was lovely to see the pre-school room where my daughter is now based. It was useful to have feedback on my daughter's settling in and development. Also, good opportunity to ask questions about my daughter and share any concerns. Nice to meet other staff that work in the room.

Busy Bees Kings Heath has been a lovely environment for both my son and daughter. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and so good with the children. From day one, both children went into nursery and were picked up with huge smiles on their faces! Their development has been incredible due to the care

We have had two children attend Busy Bees King Heath and we couldn't have asked for better. Both children have been happy and enjoyed their time here. Staff are lovely and really care about the children. Communication is excellent and the parent zone app is, in particular, an added bonus in seeing what
the children are up to.

Job Title: Centre Director

I’m Maria Shahid and I am the Centre Director here at Birmingham Kings Heath. 
Having completed a BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies, I have always prioritised ensuring every child gets the very best start in life.
Throughout my career, I have worked at a range of Early Years Education settings and thrive to work with the team, families and children to achieve outstanding outcomes for all.
I have a genuine passion for exciting, enabling, environments and will often be found exploring these with our children extending their learning and creating awe and wonder in moments of brilliance. 
Being a parent myself, I am fortunate enough to be able to see through the eyes of a parent and educator which pushes me even more to ensure that the curriculum we deliver takes everybody on a journey to reach their maximum potential. 
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my two-year-old son, who is thriving at Busy Bees with me.
I look forward to meeting you all and welcoming you into our family.
