I really love this nursery. The staff are so friendly and approachable. I had my child moved due to work issues and moved back as the other nursery didn't have the same atmosphere. She has developed so much since moving back.

Very caring, friendly staff. Excellent food, big garden, clean rooms. Many activities offered to both toddlers and preschoolers. My sons felt safe and happy there. They made great progress in both their language and social skills.

Every morning is filled with joyous anticipation at Busy Bees in Edgbaston. Staff are positive, informative, caring and show a natural ability to engage, focus and motivate my 2 boys in various activities from inside play to meal times and those unexpected potty and nappy times. Great empathy in moments
of uncertainty and detailed feedback at the end of each session. I am confident to say from my 2 and a half years of being here that my children have been at the centre of decision-making processes. Thank you.

The staff at the nursery are amazing, they are so friendly, accommodating, kind and caring. They treat you with priority and understand your own individual needs as a parent. Everyone gets to know your child and make a point of getting to know their name and understanding them as a person and their
needs. The nursery environment is full of equipment and resources and is very inviting. The manager is exceptional and goes above and beyond her duties.

My daughter attended this nursery between the age of 6 months and 4 years. She was immediately really at home and loved going in each morning. The varied activities really suited her and the staff/her key worker got to know her really well - adopting their approach as we went through various phases
(potty training, 'that' temper tantrum phase!). The manager and her team are clearly well experienced in dealing with both the children's experience and indeed with parents - I always felt well informed and believe I had honest and open feedback from them in respect of my daughter - even being invited to join the parent/staff group to share feedback and development ideas. My daughter also adored the garden area, and it was lovely to see them out there enjoying themselves in a stimulating and safe environment. Sports Days and Graduations were also handled beautifully. Well done to all.


My son attended this nursery from the age of 5.5 months through to reception.
All of the rooms/facilities were fantastic for him as he progressed. We were especially impressed with the day to day supervision and closeness of his key-workers, with whom he had a fantastic rapport. We were really pleased with the preparation for school too - a vital time in their little lives and we felt like he was properly looked after and cared for as if he was one of the staff's own children.
I've always felt incredibly safe leaving him in the care of the staff here - and would highly recommend it.

My son has only been at the nursery for a few weeks and the staff have settled him in really well. I am amazed at how much fun he is having. The staff have been fantastic. I would highly recommend this nursery.

My son was very happy at this nursery for 4 years. I felt happy to leave him with such lovely people. The whole place was friendly and professional. All of his needs were met to a great standard and I wouldn't hesitate to send him for holiday club. If you're looking for a place your child will be happy,
well educated and taken excellent care of then this is where you should choose. We couldn't have asked for more from the nursery.

My daughter loves her days at nursery! She has developed so much since she started. The staff are always friendly and helpful and they are so easy to talk to. I have had 2 children at Busy Bees in Edgbaston, the first from 8 months - starting school and second from 9 months is still here. My child's school was really impressed with the preschool preparation for school. Both the boys love going to Busy Bees in Edgbaston and the staff are always supportive
and friendly.

I have been taking my one-year-old boy to settle in sessions at Busy Bees in Edgbaston throughout January and February as I am due back to work next week. I have never left my son and I was worried how we were both going to cope with this change. All the staff at the nursery including the manager and
reception have been so lovely, helpful and supportive. I have voiced my concern and they have helped me through them. They advised when to leave him for a couple of hours to see how he copes without me there. When I returned to pick him up the staff had taken photo's showing what he had been up to and to reassure me he was happy. I got to keep the photos. This means so much to me. When he was upset on one settling in session they tried different activities until he was content. The staff have shown such understanding towards me as a parent, dedicated time getting to know my son's personality making it easier returning to work. Thank you so much Busy Bees a wonderful nursery.

Diane Kennelly

Job Title: Centre Director

Hello my name is Diane and I am the Manager here at St James Road in Edgbaston. I have been working in childcare for over 27 years, 24 of which have been with Busy Bees. I have worked as a deputy manager and a senior room leader as well as being a manager for over 26 years. I also have a variety of experience in other areas of childcare including being a youth club leader and a brownie leader.


I am a mother of three and I have my level 4 qualification in Early Years as well as having completed many other courses such as, Safeguarding, First Aid at Work and Food Hygiene. I have also completed my Level 5 qualification in Management.


I find my job extremely fulfilling and I love nothing more then sitting in the base rooms and watching the children enjoying their fun filled days. The staff at Edgbaston are committed to providing quality childcare and they take great pride in watching the children grow and develop as they move through the rooms and eventually head off to school.
