Springthorpe is a large nursery located between Erdington and Sutton Coldfield in Birmingham. The nursery provides childcare and early years education for children aged 0-5 years.

At Springthorpe, they understand that choosing a nursery is a task that parents want to be as simple as possible. They believe in creating calming, safe, and playful settings through an open-ended approach to early years learning.

The staff plan rich, varied, and imaginative activities which are tailored to each child’s interests and curiosities. The bespoke garden area has been designed in such a way that children can’t help but want to get outdoors (come rain or shine) and stretch those little legs.

The nursery is wonderful and has plenty of room for children to enjoy their day. The staff are amazing and very helpful. Any problems I have had, the staff has helped me solve them quickly and in a professional manner. My son has grown a lot in his personality from being in nursery.

My daughter started here in November. She used to cry but the staff made her happy and comfortable. She has learnt so much since being here. She has only just turned 2 and she knows her alphabet and can count to 10! The staff made me feel so comfortable leaving her here! Would always recommend!!

I have found the settling in stage very nice. My son is looked after by lovely, caring staff who support him in all areas. He has a great variety of different activities to choose from each week, and he is really enjoying exploring new things.

My daughter has settled into the nursery so smoothly. The nursery has a homely environment, which has enabled her to settle. The staff, Shauna and Bilal, have ensured Kaiann settles, and she is always happy. I walked into the nursery and felt it was perfect; the staff, the environment was the perfect
fit for my daughter.
I also like the app, which I think is amazingly easy to use; everything has helped for myself and Kiann to adjust to the new routine. Now she doesn't want to leave the nursery.

My grandson, has been at Springthorpe since he was 10 months old, and the progress he's made is truly remarkable. Now he is approaching 2 years, he's thriving, especially since moving to the toddler room during August 2025. He's more confident, social, and loves interacting with the older children.
My grandson's development is well beyond his age, with the curiosity, speech, and understanding of a 3-4 year old. The staff have been fantastic, nurturing his growth every step of the way, I'm so grateful for the care and support they've given my grandson, - proud grandmother!

Our son has progressed so well since joining the nursery. The staff are very devoted, nice and kind, helpful and provide us with regular feedback and advice, which we value very much. Our little one went from crawling to walking with their help and he is always happy when we leave him in the morning.
I like that they have a lot of activities and get every child involved. Their communication skills are very good and they are open to help us whenever needed.

I am very happy with this nursery when my son started nursery he didn't talk, walk or eat, but he learned all of this on nursey. The staff helped me a lot with many advices just to help him to eat more.
I can see that my baby is very happy on nursery and that keeps me calm at work, and on the app from
nursery I know what he's doing daily.

Thank you for taking the time to discover Springthorpe Day Nursery. My name is Lucinda Rumble (call me Lou), and I'm the Nursery Manager here. I have more than 20+ years' experience in early education and am a Mum of three myself.


Since earning my childcare qualifications in 1999, I've spent my career creating learning environments where every child feels seen, nurtured, and encouraged. I believe I bring a wealth of leadership to the team here, having spent more than 15 years as a Nursery Manager.


I joined Tommies because our ethos here matches my own. We focus on warm relationships with families, provide thoughtful care for the children entrusted to us, and create purposeful learning opportunities through play that develop confidence and independence.
