My First Friends Rubery is a welcoming, purpose-built nursery located in the outskirts of Rednal, Birmingham. The nursery provides a stimulating and safe environment where children can learn and play.

With its large spaces and carefully designed rooms, My First Friends Rubery has a ‘family-feel’ that makes children feel comfortable and at home. Located close to the village, the nursery offers easy access to a range of amenities for families to enjoy. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The open-plan environment features several age-appropriate rooms, each with easy access to the outdoor garden area where children can explore and learn. The Baby room provides a warm and calming environment, where babies can develop at their own pace and explore sensory play. The Pre-School rooms offer access to ICT equipment, including an interactive whiteboard, to support all areas of learning and development.

In addition to indoor learning spaces, My First Friends Rubery has a garden area built with soft surfacing for safety, providing children with an opportunity to learn surrounded by nature. Regular visits to the village in Rednal allow children to engage their physical abilities through walking and exploring.

I would recommend My First Friends nursery, during the pandemic my son wasn't very verbal and since going there his speech has come on so much his so much happier going there he loves it and the staff are friendly and helpful all the time.

Communication is a huge strength of this nursery - they are always contactable and keen to resolve any queries. The app used is updated every day with photos, the activities the children have been doing (linked to the EYFS Framework) and notes regarding meals and how much the child has eaten.

After viewing My First Friends nursery, my son and I fell in love with it straight away. Amazing staff and very friendly kids are looked after amazingly. My son is so happy here and has come a long way since starting at My First Friends.

I’ve sent both of my daughters to My First Friends and can never express how grateful I am to all the wonderful staff that work here. My eldest daughter was always very shy and the thought of sending her to nursery terrified me but the staff at My First Friends reassured me and within no time my eldest
daughter loved it here. I watched her blossom and learn so much in such a short space of time. The nursery were quick to help her with her potty training and always kept me updated whenever I collected her from nursery. They assisted her transition from nursery to reception and helped build her confidence hugely. I now send my youngest daughter to this nursery and from the moment I sent her I saw her develop immediately. She was able to string sentences together, her speech improved, her creativity widen and her maths and English came on wonderfully. I honestly couldn’t think of a better place to send my children, the staff are caring, helpful, and go above and beyond for each child.

My son has been at this nursery since he was 8 months old. He has loved every minute of it! I am always impressed by how helpful and friendly the staff are, and they are clearly supporting my son to progress and meet his targets whilst also making sure he feels supported, safe and like he has a home

Our little one has thrived massively since being part of the My First Friends family. She comes home excited about her day and tells us all about the amazing things she has done. When it’s nursery day she’s up bright and happy and ready to go. She cannot wait to get there! The team are fantastic and
it is clear how organised and dedicated they are. As a full time working mum, I find it invaluable to be kept up to speed with how her day is going through the app and I love seeing pictures of her enjoying her day. Whenever you call there is always someone able to help, and emails and calls are answered swiftly and professionally. The atmosphere is fun, vibrant and the children look ever so happy to be there. I’d recommend to anyone!

My son has come on leaps and bounds since attending My First Friends Rubery. Lovely nursery, very helpful staff.
Nothing is too much trouble. My son comes out of nursery full of smiles and looks forward to when he next attends.

My son is a very clingy child and hasn't had much time away from myself other than with family, so when it came to looking for a nursery for him to attend I thought this was going to be very hard. However, My First Friends nursery was the first nursery we had a look around and we instantly made the
decision that this nursery was going to be the nursery for our boy! The reception staff are so warm and welcoming, they interact with the children to make them feel comfortable straight away. Upon our arrival we spoke with the receptionist she was so welcoming and we instantly felt like this was home, we then went on to meet with the manager of the nursery to go for a look around. The nursery at the time had loads of children in their little bubble doing loads of different activities, you could feel the love in the room there was so many happy smiles and laughs. I would highly recommend having a look around and seeing this nursery for your children!!!

My daughter started with My First Friends Rubery at 14-months-old, she was very attached to me, and I worried about how she would feel being away from me at nursery. The staff were incredible in settling her into the nursery, it really is her home from home. She is so happy here and is excited to go
in every day. I love being able to check the app to see what she has been up to (often with a picture), what she has eaten, how long she has slept for and her nappy changes. She has grown so attached to many of the staff and has developed so well with their encouragement. They are very professional, honest and caring. I am so pleased with our choice of nursery, and after over 12-months with them would recommend them so highly.

The nursery has been fantastic. Our son has been here since he was 5 months. I can’t fault it. We both work full time and without the nursery, I wouldn’t have been able to return to work. Worth every penny!

This nursery proved to be the best choice for my daughter as we had a difficult time adjusting to the new life conditions, taking into account we were not born and raised in the UK. My daughter experienced not only a new environment, new people, but also a new language that she had to cope with. She
has made huge progress and is more confident now she has learned lots of things. We would highly recommend My First Friends Nursery in Rubery. Our daughter has been attending since May 2017 when she was 11 months and has made great progress in all areas. All the staff without exception have been amazing. They are all friendly, approachable, supportive, fun and positive whilst remaining
professional at all times. I have no concerns when dropping our daughter in their care and she loves attending. The Nursery have been flexible in accommodating my shift pattern and keep us informed daily with our daughters progress via an app. I again would like to highlight what a relief it is to find such an outstanding Nursery.

Our daughter loved this nursery so when it came to picking a nursery for our son My First Friends nursery seemed the obvious choice. The staff are lovely and greet him with a hug every morning. We use the app to check how he's doing throughout the day.

My daughter has attended here since the age of seven months. My fears and anxieties were soon eased, as I realised how professional and caring the staff were. My daughter has thrived at this nursery and her development has been remarkable since being here. The learning opportunities have exceeded my
expectations and I am extremely impressed with the amount of variety provided in day to day activities.
The facilities are fantastic and the purpose built layout is excellent, providing a secure environment for children of all ages.
The baby room was outstanding, providing a small, secure space for babies under the age of one. My daughter loved her time in there but has since progressed to the next room, where she now has more access to the outside areas and even more opportunities for play and learning.
I have daily access to the app, which shows me all activities, including milk feeds, food and sleep times.

Hello, I'm Claire and I'm the Nursery Manager here at My First Friends Rubery. I am qualified Early years foundation degree/level 5 management.


Our nursery is special because the children are at the heart of everything we do. The team are committed and dedicated to their profession; always focusing on children, enabling them to become confident, happy, individuals who aim high and always want to learn more
