Co-op Childcare Walcot love to get the best from each child as with lots of experienced practitioners, they help every child to grow and learn in the best way for them. They support families too with parent focus groups and stay and play sessions.

Their nursery team are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. They also hold the green flag status in the prestigious Green Flag Eco-schools programme which sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver a big environmental difference.

They use their 5 Little Pioneers to help share their core values with their children from encouraging them to be independent to making a difference in the world. They are big on happy children so they have regular visits to local care homes, areas for growing food (and eating it) and take care of each other and the world.

They have a ParentZone app which keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery with things like photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress!

At Co-op Childcare Walcot there are four home rooms split into the following age groups: nought to one-year-olds, one to two-year-olds, two to three-year-olds and three to five-year-olds. The nursery has a large back garden which has a variety of play surfaces from grass to soft play tarmac.

Now offering year round and term time only spaces.

My son has been going to the Co-op Childcare Walcot for a year and a half now. Our overall experience as parents has been brilliant. The whole process from settling in sessions to constant and regular updates on the progress of the child and regular key person one on one sessions have been designed
and organized so well; they take care of every concern a parent has for their child’s care. Everyone at the nursery shows a very warm and caring interest in the child’s progress which is a big assurance. The ambience is fun-filled with learning through play and activities.
Overall, I feel amazing that I made the right choice for my child. I do not genuinely believe there can be any better nursery in Swindon.

My son started in March and I was very anxious about him starting due to him being born during the pandemic and not having been around others. I can absolutely say that I didn't need to be nervous at all, the nursery have been amazing and he's settled really well. The staff have gone over and above
to support his transition into nursery and myself and my wife are happy with the progress he's made.

We moved to Swindon in January 2021 and when we asked where we should send our daughter the response was astounding, everyone said Co-Op Walcot. They were not wrong. Our daughter had never been to a nursery, pre-school, childminder setting and was so nervous and scared on her first day, the staff had
to peel her off me. We are now on week 3 and she has been bouncing in for the last 2 weeks with no problems! The staff are fantastic, so friendly and I feel very confident in the care they are providing our daughter. I love the app which tells us what our daughter has eaten, been doing during the day and how we can help her learning at home. I cannot praise this nursery enough and will definitely be sending our youngest daughter when the time comes.

My daughter currently attends Co-op Childcare Walcot in the baby room. All the staff looking after her are amazing and are always so accommodating. The whole nursery has been amazing in supporting her to settle in during the pandemic. She found nursery difficult at first, having spent so much time in
lockdown and not being around many people, however with the fantastic support from the nursery she now loves nursery and always enjoys herself. I love receiving regular updates and daily pictures of what she has been up to and the use of the app is amazing! Would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone looking for childcare.

My son really enjoys attending the nursery and is always coming home telling me about his day and all the friends he has been playing with. The nursery offers healthy, nutritious food, and my son always eats well at the nursery. The app is really useful, as it helps keep me up to date with everything
that is going on, and I get to see what my son has been learning and how well he is developing. The nursery has really helped my son grow in confidence and develop socially.

My grandson has attended the nursery from the age of 9 months, he is currently in the 3-5 year room. I wanted to say how much he enjoys nursery and I'm sure it has helped him socialise with other children and become independent. The staff are always very helpful and I would highly recommend anyone who
is looking for a nursery go to Walcot.

My daughter started here just before the first lockdown. She settled in well and was really well supported by the staff in the 0-2s rooms. She has since moved up to the 2s-3s and even though we aren’t able to pop in, the staff have made lots of effort to communicate through the parent zone app, so we
know what’s she’s been up to and how her day has been. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and we have seen our little one make excellent progress, especially with her speech and communication since starting here.

We love Co-op Childcare Walcot nursery, both my children have attended and our youngest, 9 months, has been attending since January and she has settled in wonderfully thanks to the fantastic staff. We have noticed such a difference in her development already and she’s so excited to go in on her nursery
days. My son who is now 8 years old still talks about his nursery days and says he misses going even now. He transitioned into school so well and I put that down to his days at nursery. We would 100% recommend anyone to this nursery and we wouldn’t send our children anywhere else.

I really cannot fault anything at the nursery. The staff are all very kind, enthusiastic and caring. My sons Days are full of fun and educational activities with lots of time outside, which I think is really important. Throughout the pandemic, they have shown so much support for families and the NHS
and their professionalism and dedication has not changed. The team from my son's room are just as enthusiastic about his development and really care about him. I think his development has come on lots since he's been there and the fact that he can go and play and make friends throughout all this has been great. I really do have a lot of love and respect for all they do.

My daughter has been attending the preschool room since August. Throughout the nursery has been excellent. All the staff are friendly, caring and helpful. They have really gone the extra mile to make sure that the children are happy and confident even with the extra measures needed for Covid. There
is a fantastic range of activities, the food is varied and they really keep parents informed via the app. My daughter looks forward to nursery every day and regularly wants to play nursery at home as she enjoys it so much! I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We are delighted with our daughter's nursery, Co-op Childcare Walcot. Such a brilliant environment and team that make this happen every day. Both my wife and I work full time and we're delighted with how well our daughter has settled into nursery as well as how much she enjoys it. From the professionalism
of all of the staff, the sheer variety of activities that she engages in through to the care and attention from all of the staff with special shout outs to two people in particular who have been pivotal in the enhanced rate of development we've seen in our daughter since being in nursery. On top of all of that, our daughter eats better than us with a well balanced, seasonal array of meals. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone, huge thank you to the amazing team, you're all incredible!

Co-op Childcare Walcot have looked after our 4-year-old boy since he was 1. During this pandemic they have been especially amazing, their kindness, care, resilience and determination are second to none. Our son has thrived since being in the nursery staff’s care, and every day he’s there he comes home
buzzing and happy. We highly recommend Co-op Childcare Walcot, they are simply the best!

Caring, supportive and friendly nursery.
Staff are amazing and always going the extra miles to help you out.
I am so pleased with the way my son is learning new skills while at nursery, always so glad to see the smile on his face when myself or his nanny picks him up, it shows that he had a lovely
session.
I can't thank the staff enough for their support.
I am always kept up to date with what he's done throughout his session to through there wonderful app.
Thank you all so much.

Our sons nursery, Walcot Co-op, is such a fantastic place. We've always loved it from day one, at 12 months, to three years preschool. We specifically chose it at first because of the lovely atmosphere and environment - even the babies were happy and never appeared upset. The space to move inside and
out was a real draw. We've always loved all the staff, everyone's always been so friendly and caring and all the staff and children know each other across rooms. We will be really sad when our son leaves for school which says it all really.

Caring, supportive and friendly nursery. My daughter has attended since she was 9 months old (shes nearly 3) and sending her to this nursery was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She has come on leaps and bounds in terms of her development intellectually and socially. She looks forward to
attending nursery and is now sad to leave when I pick her up! I cannot fault the dedicated and hardworking staff. They do the best with the resources they have. I would like to see Co-Operative invest more in the nursery as some of the rooms and facilities are looking a little tierd.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.747)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.747) out of 10 for Co-op Childcare Walcot is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.747 for Co-op Childcare Walcot is calculated as follows: ( (251 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 288 Ratings = 4.747
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Co-op Childcare Walcot is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 73 number of registered child places is 14.6, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
