Co-op Childcare Walcot love to get the best from each child as with lots of experienced practitioners, they help every child to grow and learn in the best way for them. They support families too with parent focus groups and stay and play sessions.

Their nursery team are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. They also hold the green flag status in the prestigious Green Flag Eco-schools programme which sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver a big environmental difference.

They use their 5 Little Pioneers to help share their core values with their children from encouraging them to be independent to making a difference in the world. They are big on happy children so they have regular visits to local care homes, areas for growing food (and eating it) and take care of each other and the world.

They have a ParentZone app which keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery with things like photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress!

At Co-op Childcare Walcot there are four home rooms split into the following age groups: nought to one-year-olds, one to two-year-olds, two to three-year-olds and three to five-year-olds. The nursery has a large back garden which has a variety of play surfaces from grass to soft play tarmac.

Now offering year round and term time only spaces.

I have found the nursey to be a great place for my daughter to spend her day whilst im working. I feel she is safe and well looked after, she has also learned so much since attending this nursery. All the staff have always been friendly and welcoming, I always feel as though I can go to them with any
concerns I might have.
My daughter enjoys her time at nursery, even when shes not feeling her happy self she will always end the day happy.
As a first time mum this nursery has been fantastic and I couldn't thank them enough for what they do and the support they give!

I could not ask for a better setting for my children to and I feel comfortable, a home from home have built a good relationship with the car givers over the last 3 years and so have my childen, even after moving house with a nursery much closer we still choose Walcot nursey because we haven't found
found one single nursery that slightly compares to the level and love and care that Walcot nursery gives

I was not sure if I was going to put my son in nursery but I am so glad I did, the staff are always friendly and have been so good for my son he's come out of him self so much thanks to all the support they have given us. They have helped with his needs and continue to help with ways to support him
with everything such as speech and his confidence.

We're very happy with this nursery. The environment is warm, welcoming, and truly child-friendly. The staff communicate very well and always keep us informed, which we really appreciate.
Most importantly, our two children are happy and have made great progress in their learning and development. We're
grateful and would highly recommend this nursery.

My son started in September and since then my experience has been nothing short of outstanding. All the staff at the nursery are welcoming friendly and great care givers.
It's the only nursery I would trust to care for my son.

This nursery could not be more supportive of my children - my daughter attended from September 2024 to August 2025 when she started school, and she still asks to come back and play every time we pick our son up.
My son is currently in the toddler room and always has such a fun time. We're always told
stories on pick up of how much he's done in the day, how he's made them laugh and how he's doing with his development.
We recently went through a period of unsettled drop offs but the staff were so reassuring and calm with him, and suggested helpful ways to settle him down. He's now going into nursery happily!
We're so excited to see how he continues to grow and develop in their care until he goes to school in 2027.

From day 1 both my daughter and I have had a positive experience with Walcot Co op nursery. Staff are very attentive, caring and engaging.

The nursery itself has a lovely feel and is a very clean, warm environment.
Communication is brilliant with updates on the app showing how your child's day

is going, what they've had to eat, nap times etc.

My daughter has learned so much since starting a few months ago and looks forward to her day at nursery. I'm sure she will continue to thrive in this setting. Highly recommended.

My son has been going to this nursery for about 2 years now and the quality and care has always been excellent. I feel safe and happy having my son go to this nursery. I always enjoy talking to the staff and hearing about his day. The updates my wife and i receive through the portal are always welcome,
and help us understand his progress.

My son has been attending this nursery for just under two years now. My son initially was not settling in as the environment was new for him and was meeting new faces. The staff here are very friendly and very supportive, they helped my son to settle in and kept him engaged. They are always hands on
and support the child's needs. They engage the kids with new activities on a weekly basis and are always there to answer any questions. My son really enjoys his time at the nursery.

As parents we are grateful to all the staff of Coop nursery walcot to their unwavering support, patience and dedication for helping and teaching our son to develop more skills.Since my son joined he progressed a lot, and build up his confidence in the nursery, as he always looking forward to go to nursery,
he always said he had a good time or good day, for us as a parents it's makes us feel comfortable and happy that our son go to place that he feel happy and enjoyed the company of the staff and other children's. My son learned more skills too such to be more creative, knowledgeable, and learning more to communicate (can't stop him talking sometimes he he he) but in the good way.
So we would like to say Thank you for the amazing care and guidance you've given to our children. And we always appreciate it. Please keep up all the good works.

My first son went here 8 years ago and started his school one of the cleverest and most confident in his class. When we were blessed with our second son a year ago we had no doubt that the Co-Op nursery at Walcot was the best place for him to go. He has settled in fairly quickly and I have seen both
my sons grow with confidence that is largely down to the care and support they have received here. The staff are caring and support both parents and children through the challenges of illnesses, separation anxiety and help develop children's interests. At 15 months my son's vocabulary is growing rapidly and he runs, dances and loves to socialise with other kids and grown ups. A great place to start your little ones if you're returning to work.

Very disappointed with how the nursery handled my son's additional needs. He is autistic and has an EHCP, but this was only progressed after outside professionals stepped in. He often went all day without eating, and for months the nursery refused to allow food from home until they were challenged
on their policy.
More recently, council-funded 1:1 support was arranged, but the nursery didn't work collaboratively with the agency. When the agency withdrew, we were abruptly told they could no longer care for him - with no transition plan. After years in their care, this left us with no childcare, no respite, and I've to now suddenly stop working as a 'single' parent. I would not recommend this nursery to any family with a child who has additional need!

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.744)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.744) out of 10 for Co-op Childcare Walcot is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.744 for Co-op Childcare Walcot is calculated as follows: ( (296 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 348 Ratings = 4.744
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Co-op Childcare Walcot is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 73 number of registered child places is 14.6, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
