My 18m boy has been at Jabberwocky for 4m. As any mum will know, there are so many things that need to feel right when you leave your child in the care of someone else. I had done my homework, but ultimately it's the way your child responds over the days/weeks/months that sets one setting apart from
the rest. Mine gelled obviously with 2 of the staff from the start in particular. The candid smiles and exchanged reassured me of the strong attachment he feels from Jabberwocky staff. He only attends 3 afternoons, however he feels that time with the kind of fun you'd hope he'd be lucky enough to have, and comes back with new thinks, expressions and a full tummy. I have also been looked after by Jabberwocky, who have been incredibly flexible to help me manage my return to work and a new role.

Jabberwocky are a fantastic nursery. I have two children there who love it. They do so many activities as well as having great facilities, both mine especially love forest school. One of my children has additional needs and they are fantastic with him. They meet his needs exceptionally. They know each
child so well, what they need and what works for them. Absolutely fantastic nursery and I are them so much.

We love Jabberwocky Nursery!! Our previous childcare setting was unreliable, and we never felt 'in the loop' with our daughters' development. Jabberwocky is miles above - we are always told about what the children have been up to, feel very safe and very valued. It is such a lovely, friendly nursery.
Everything offered is 10/10, Jabberwocky really go above and beyond. We couldn't ask for a better early years education for our child.
Reply from Leanne Lamb, Managing Director at Jabberwocky Childrens Nursery LtdThank you so much, K W, for taking the time to let us know your thoughts on Jabberwocky.
We love having your daughter so much. She is growing into a very confident little girl, and here at Jabberwocky, we will always encourage independence and resilience, right from the baby room through to the pre-school room, from pouring their own drinks to stacking their own chairs, and even dishing up their own meals.
It all leads them up to being school ready.

2 of my children have been to Jabberwocky, 1 is still there and she loves it! My son loved it too, and still occasionally talks about how much he loved it there.

They are the best childcare provider in the area and we wouldn't choose anywhere else. They have such care and consideration for our daughter,

and she adores the staff.
She enjoys the days out and visits to the local park and nursing homes.
They are beyond understanding if anything comes up out of our control!
Reply from Leanne Lamb, Managing Director at Jabberwocky Childrens Nursery LtdThank you very much, Rhonda, for your lovely review.
It is very important to us that we support every child in our care and their parents, too. The staff team is, as you say, very caring and do go above and beyond to make sure every child gets the best of what they deserve.
Some of my best memories are of my Nursery and we want all the children who come to Jabberwocky to always remember us with wonderful memories.

The most wonderful nursery that adores and cherishes every child who goes there. To watch them always come with a smile on their face and have so many amazing stories to tell from their days. I couldn't recommend this nursery and the staff enough.

My daughter has attended Jabberwocky since age 1, is now 4 and this nursery helped shape her into the confident kind girl she is today. Facilities are incredible: bright, spacious rooms with sensory areas and real-world learning. Children transition between rooms on their birthdays and choose their
key workers: the staff provide excellent support throughout. Experiences sets Jabbers apart: bus trips to Wells, visiting beaches, nursing homes, and so much more. Their forest school is amazing: chickens, mud kitchens, yurts. They go in all weathers and love it! Staff are professional and caring. The manager provides brilliant communication and is always available for support. Our girl grows in confidence daily, has made lasting friends, and comes home with new skills. They're always doing crafts and baking, and they have perfectly accommodated my girl's complex dietary needs. Whilst more expensive than alternatives, it is truly worth every penny. We'd choose Jabberwocky always.

My little boy absolutely loves going to Jabberwocky! He's been going for almost 11 months now and has loved it right from the start. I was initially worried about how he'd settle in but he's had no issues at all! The staff are incredible and my little boy absolutely adores them and asks to go to see
them every day! They remember every little detail and give really detailed handovers at the end of the day. The children are always out and about on day trips doing something different, fun and educational and they love exploring! Jabberwocky have so many extra curricular activities even for the little babies which is incredible and the forest school is amazing!
I have no doubt I have sent my little boy to the best place for him he's honestly learnt so much already and the staff have really helped develop his personality and confidence.

As we come to the end of our journey with Jabberwocky and my daughter starts school, I feel it is important to share how we have felt there. From the first meeting we felt held, seen and loved by every member of staff. My daughter loves everyday. The extra curricular offer is exceptional. She goes
to forest school, the beach and the farm. She plants sunflowers, picks strawberries and eats pasties at the cathedral, after an exciting bus journey. She has regular music and dance sessions, football and sports with external coaches. There are special events such as zoo lab as part of their exciting days. What matters most is the everyday. It is special, engaging, full of happiness and love. She has freshly cooked food and snacks, a beautiful outdoor area and specialist staff preparing her for school. I feel so blessed to have shared her early years with Jabberwocky. They are a part of our heart now. Thank you.

Fantastic Nursery, the staff are competent and very attentive to the children's needs. They do quite a lot of different things which my child loves, they have their own Forest school, cooking club, science club, they have a sports coach, the do day trips, they have zoo lab and just recently the have
added beach school to the list of things they do. My child has improved massively with socialisation and his speech has come on a lot since being here. Very impressed with Jabberwocky. All meals are carefully planned and cooked on site so it's fresh, all formula and nappies are provided while the children are at Jabberwocky. Which is a god send so I don't have to take in all the added extras, plus my child will eat healthier here than at home because his friends are eating it too.

Since joining Jabberwocky Nursery as a baby, my daughter has transformed into a fiercely independent, hilariously self-assured little human who now negotiates bedtime like a tiny lawyer and insists on being consulted on "family strategy or making a deal for a biscuit." She's learned the fine art of
assertiveness and her comedic timing is now sharper than mine. The staff are absolute heroes-equal parts educator, entertainer, and toddler-whisperer-and seem to sprinkle some kind of magical confidence dust on the kids daily. Jabberwocky isn't just preparing her for school; it's preparing her for world domination, and I couldn't be more thrilled combined with the excellent Forest school she's at home in the rain and mud as she is at home. Thank you Guys- she loves you all!

Super nursery! My son has been going since one and has always loved it. I feel confident that he is well looked after and safe. The staff are incredible, all are friendly, helpful and really take the time to get to know the children. Amazing enrichment offered like sports coaches, animal visits and
boogie beats. Forest school is visited weekly, with chickens. Loads of lovely trips out like the beach and farm visits. Great use of the local area with library, market, pet shop and park visits. A really great nursery!

Our son has been attending Jabberwocky since February 2024. He has blossomed under the care and attention provided by the nursery! He frequently surprises us with things he has learnt through nursery. His speech has really benefited from the attention from the staff and it's clear to see how much he
adores the staff that work there! Really couldn't recommend Jabberwocky any more highly, they have been fantastic!

My Daughter has attended Jabberwocky from 11 months old and my youngest daughter is due to start in September. Jabberwocky is not just a nursery, it feels like a home from home for my little one. My little girl is full of sass, yet so sensitive and each staff member has taken their time to learn how
she develops as an individual. The kindness, warmth and love that they show is like no other. If she's poorly, she is loved and cared for until I make it to grab her and take her home.

The extra activities they Nursery are involved with is amazing, boogie beats being a firm favourite in our house. Day trips out in the minivan, walking into town, events are Forrest school, Christmas party's - they think of everything. The wide range of food that is offered is amazing and always goes down a treat! Nothing is too much to ask and all staff are happy to speak about any worries or changes. Couldn't recommend Jabberwocky enough; we'd be lost without them!

My son has attended Jabberwocky since he was 9 months old. He is now 19 months old. I cannot rate the nursery and the staff highly enough. They are always so attentive to his needs and are brilliant at communicating with home. He has allergies and the nursery manages these really well. At pick up, the
staff always give a really good handover on how his day has been and what they have been up to. The amount of extracurricular activities they offer is fantastic too. I wouldn't ever contemplate sending my son anywhere else!

My son has attended Jabberwocky since he was 9 months old and now he is almost 5.
The attention and care the staff have given him from his first day up until now has been exceptional.

The staff have helped throughout every stage of his development.
From making sure he kept his nap routine when

he was a baby, through potty training and now preparing him for school.

Forest school is a massive plus, they have a fantastic space just down the road and the children are encouraged to get stuck in and
go outside in all weathers.

They also go on many adventures ( they have two minibuses) for example my son has been to Stourhead, The Bishops Palace in Wells and Glastonbury Abbey to name but a few.

The food is also very good, all prepared in house and from local suppliers. They cater for a variety of dietary requirements.

Sending my son to Jabberwocky was definitely one of the best mum decisions I've
made !

As an anxious mother Jabberwocky has truly given me the peace of mind I needed ! From 8 months their care attentiveness and compassion with my boy is truly unrivalled and akin to the care he receives from close family members. I can't fault their communication every evening at pickup I get an excited
child plus a thorough breakdown of his day, they also pick up and relay things that may help at home e.g. potty training and fearful reactions. The facilities are amazing my boys favourite thing the what I can only describe as acres of land they have for forest school. Everyday he seems to be doing a different activity and will always want to run in the doors in the morning.

His independence and development is also thought of and carefully curated into his daily schedule. It's all about what he would like and giving him choices which I love and feels like a continuation of the Montessori ethos of the nursery. The transitions from each age appropriate area has also been seamless.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.976 for Jabberwocky Childrens Nursery Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (479 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 490 Ratings = 4.976
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Jabberwocky Childrens Nursery Ltd is based on 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
