What a great nursery Jabberwocky is.
My daughter loves going.
They do soo much with them, from forest school and everything they have there, to cooking, baking, painting and going to the shops and markets.

This setting is the most incredible place I have ever come across. The care shown to the children from every member there is exemplary. All staff know the children, regardless of their room and place; they take the time to get to know the individuals in their care. The rooms are packed with beautiful
resources to encourage growth, development, curiosity and play. They do so much outdoors, as well as being inside. The children have awe and wonder for their environment supported by regular forest school visits and the lovely outdoor area, as well as music and movement and exciting trips out to farms and visitors- recently exotic animals! There is nothing that is too much for the staff to do for you to ensure your child is happy. They take the time to feedback the day, report regularly on their development and share with you via conversations, their journal and the app. I couldn't be happier here as a parent and my child is excited about coming in each time she arrives.

I pick my grandchild up on a regular basis from Jabberwocky Nursery.
He always comes out absolutely full of beans, telling me about what he has done that day.
The staff are always so very kind and helpful and fill me in on what he has eaten throughout the day and any other information around him.
The
opportunities that Jabberwocky provide are incredible, and you most definitely get your money's worth and more due to all of the experiences they provide.
My particular favourite thing is the forest school, as I, myself, am an outdoor person, always going on walks and enjoying the outdoors at every opportunity; my grandson definitely does too and gets so excited on the days he goes up to forest school.
I would highly recommend Jabberwocky to anyone looking for a nursery for their child; it is truly fantastic.

Finding a nursery for your little ones to attend is a big step - the nursery team are going to be caring, educating and influencing your child. We are so lucky to have found Jabberwocky's so close to home; it really wasn't a hard choice.
Pretty much every day our child is there, they get to go to Forest
School, creating bird feeder, looking for bugs and generally everting nature has to offer. Even on cold days, they are yurts so settle in for a story and a snack. They are enjoying singing and dancing, little trips out, along with starting to get them school ready.
I'll be honest, our child struggled to settle to start with, but together with Jabberwocky's, we instigated little ways to help. Being responsible for taking small toys and books home and returning them at the next session to creating a folder with all of the nursey team member so we could talk at home about nursery. It really is a great partnership, and we have one very happy settled child. Highly recommend this wonderful nursey.

We’ve experienced several nurseries, and we now commute 40-minutes each way so our children can experience the best provision we’ve ever come across. The balance between the nature-led, holistic forest school approach, with thoughtful and regular excursions (for example to buy Christmas trees, choose
sandwich-making bread from local bakeries, experience touring art shows, or garden centres to buy new plants), with disco’s, visiting football coaches, visiting scientists, animals and weekly cooking classes is truly the best of both worlds and the only nursery I’ve come across to do both sides so well. The staff are unbelievable, kind, energetic, innovative and super dedicated. I would recommend Jabberwocky to anyone and everyone. We feel very, very lucky to be able to have both our children experience this wonderful place.

Jabberwocky is a place of love, kindness, fun, joy and learning. I cannot recommend Jabberwocky enough. My daughter has been going since she was 8-months in the middle of a global pandemic, and they've been amazing. She absolutely loves her time there. Excellent food and what seems like unlimited daily
activities. The importance of being outside and experiencing nature is at the heart of what they do. She has become so social and developed tremendously. The team give me an update each day she is collected and truly care for the children at their nursery. Thank you for everything you do!

My child has been at Jabberwocky only a short time, but in that time has developed so much in her speech, movement and general understanding. The staff were wonderful and so supportive of our child. I would highly recommend Jabberwocky to anyone.

Our daughter attended Jabberwocky from 12 months to recently. We cannot fault the nursery; the staff are so warm and caring, it’s fun and every day she has varied activities, delicious home-cooked food, detailed reports daily home with pictures and the atmosphere was friendly and so personal. Throughout
the pandemic, they have kept parents fully informed and been very vigilant to the point so we felt staff and kids were safe.
We are so sorry to be saying goodbye to such an incredible place which has definitely contributed to our child’s happiness and sociability.

We recently moved to the area and our daughter started at Jabberwocky Childrens Nursery about a month ago. We have been totally blown away by the wonderful care she has been provided with at Jabberwocky.
The staff provide the very best environment and experiences for all the children in their care.
The provision and opportunities provided for children are always carefully planned and thought out and allow the children to have so many wonderful experiences.
The staff are all friendly and welcoming, the children are so excited to see them everyday. We love that our daughter gets to go outside, walk to the park, bake, eat delicious homemade food, all in such a beautiful homely environment.
The staff even provided parents with hot chocolate and homemade cookies at pick up this week - they really do go the extra mile everyday! If you need a nursery for your child I really would highly recommend Jabberwocky they are amazing!

My son has attended Jabberwocky since October 2020. The baby room team made the transition for both me and my son smooth and I have the utmost trust in the team. I am given clear daily feedback on my sons day, this includes activities he has participated in, how he’s eaten, drank, nappy changes and
sleep times. All this is given to me verbally and written. I chose Jabberwocky for my son as their resources are natural and curious.
Their ethos incorporates looking after our world.

Jabberwocky is a wonderful place for children, my daughter absolutely loves going. I have seen massive change in her self confidence, which continues to grow. The staff are very friendly and give you a lot of information about your child's day. My daughter has two staff members in her "bubble" and
has formed a lovely relationship with them both and this has really helped her settle in.
The activities that they offer, includes forest school where they have the use of local arboretum, with a yurt. Music, dancing, painting, drawing, cooking and jumping in puddles is a firm favourite, wellies and puddle suit is a must!
They are eco-conscience and use a lot of natural play items, and themes and they give the children opportunities to explore in a safe but meaningful way. They have homemade meals cooked on-site by their own cook. There is outdoor areas on site, which are full of interesting things to explore, and when able they explore local sites too.

When it came to looking for a nursery for our first child, Jabberwocky to us was the obvious choice. Having looked at other options, nowhere felt as warm and welcoming as here and we have gone on to send our second child here too. The staff are wonderful, you get a real sense that they genuinely care
about the children and want to provide the best experience for them. A big draw for us was the space they have and having a kitchen on-site to provide home-cooked meals. Over the past 18 months a huge amount of effort and money has gone into refurbishing the inside and outside space, in addition to this is their forest school which provides an amazing outside learning space which is very important to us. You continually get the feeling they are striving to make it the best it can be for the little ones and our two certainly love it. A big thank you to all the staff!

During this pandemic Jabberwocky Childrens Nursery have not failed to keep the nursery as inviting and fun as always.
My grandchildren talk about all the activities that they are involved in from Forest School, football and French.
They tell me about the friendships they have made with the staff
and their peers and are always happy at drop off and pick up.

Jabberwocky is the most beautiful setting for preschool children. My daughter loves attending and has flourished as did her brother before.
She is so happy there she refers to her sessions as “going to friends” - this speaks volumes!
The staff are both professional, nurturing and caring. Our daughter
enjoys both indoor and outdoor settings and loves her Forest School time.
Their safeguarding, catering and medical aspects are also first-class.
I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone seeking a professional, supportive, educational, caring environment for their child(ren).

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.963)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.963) out of 10 for Jabberwocky Childrens Nursery Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.963 for Jabberwocky Childrens Nursery Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (474 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 490 Ratings = 4.963
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Jabberwocky Childrens Nursery Ltd is based on 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
