Circus Day Nursery Ltd has been established with a focus on quality early years learning, taking pride in an atmosphere where children can thrive and feel motivated.

An extensive and beautiful garden and a flexible range of play resources allow for a flexible approach to key early years goals, as well as many additional enhanced activities, including Forest School. Each day is packed with a variety of learning and development activities, along with outdoor play.

An all-weather surface and canopy mean there is the opportunity for outdoor play, whatever the weather, with children enjoying the nature and growing sections, along with all the other sections in the garden.

As well as a skilled approach to education, the nursery also supports healthy eating, supporting each individual child's diet. The head chef has a wonderful array of beautiful recipes that the children love and thoroughly enjoy. The children also engage in cooking and baking sessions.

The setting has recently achieved the Millie's Mark Award, ensuring all staff are qualified in Pediatric First Aid, offering peace of mind and prestigious award the setting is proud and honoured to have achieved.

Funding & Fees

We charge an hourly private fee rate that is fully inclusive of food/snacks/drinks/nappies/formula, enhanced activities, and everything not included in the Government Funding. Funding is available for eligible 9-month-olds, 2-year-olds, and 3-4-year-olds; however, it does not cover everything included in the private fee, so we may have consumable charges that apply during funded hours (subject to terms and conditions). We offer government funding for 9-month-old children and can handle the administration and support for any required paperwork. Limited spaces are available, so please contact us to arrange your personal tour of our beautiful setting, which is listed as a "house of interest". We are a family-run business established in 1997, with a long-term, dedicated staff team with many years of experience in the Early Years, who share their passion for the Early Years. We pride ourselves on our wonderful staff team and heartfelt dedication to making a positive difference.

Both our daughters have attended Circus nursery, and we have been very happy with their experiences. The nursery and pre-school prepares children very well for school. We love how the staff know our children so well, and genuinely care for them and their experiences.

Circus is a very special setting and a wonderful environment for children to play, grow and learn. I was nervous leaving my daughter when I returned to work but the fantastic staff at Circus put my mind at ease and helped my daughter settle very quickly.
My daughter absolutely loves the nursery and
the staff, and is excited to go there each day. As parents we find the staff professional, supportive, helpful, nurturing, and caring. The management are also fantastic, very accommodating and even make the effort to get to know each child.
The outdoor space is a real plus and my daughter loves to play in the garden there.
I am constantly impressed by the ideas the staff come up with to teach the children new things, they do the activities in such a variety of ways like crafts, messy play, painting, songs, with books etc etc. They are very inventive and make learning fun for the children.
Circus is a very special place and I am so happy with the level of care my daughter receives there.

My son is flourishing in the Circus Day Nursery & Pre-school environment. When we first applied to the nursery, we were unaware that he had additional special needs. Upon his diagnosis, we asked if nursery would still be able to accommodate him and they made no hesitation in taking him in. Since day
one, they have worked extremely closely with us as parents, and all of his SEN / NHS support workers.
He has required special feeding techniques, which the nursery obtained all their training in to support him. Therapists have attended nursery and worked with the team, and all reports have returned that his key workers are doing everything as recommended and he is thriving.
We initially had some doubts as to how he would cope in nursery but he is developing well beyond anything we could've hoped for, and I put this down to the support Circus has offered us.

The experiences and care my son has received during his whole journey has been phenomenal and every staff member that I have had the pleasure of interacting with has been wonderful. I am always getting updates about all of the wonderful things he is doing and he is always so engaged and excited. He
has done everything you could think of from exploring everyday life, baking, learning about how to care for the in-house animals, forest school, sensory play, dancing and singing and so much more. He has always been so happy to run through the doors of nursery and I knew since the moment I viewed the nursery it was the perfect setting for our family. We love the use of the outdoor space, we love the dedication to get the children outside as much we possible, we love the family vibe that is created at circus, we love all the variety of food offered on the menu and we love the ever changing library.

My son raises my granddaughter alone & was very nervous about nursery so we saw several and Circus was really the only choice, nothing else came close.
He faced the normal first-day nerves but the only tears were his, she went in happy from day one & within a few weeks she was happy as soon as we mentioned
school. She goes in happy and is always lost in play whenever we arrive to collect.
Their kitchen is fantastic, everything is cooked on-site & the aroma of proper food often greets me at the door. It's even better knowing it's from a local small business such as the best butcher in the area.
She seems to be learning a dozen words a day, lots of songs and dances. And best of all no screens!
She's been poorly this week & it's a huge peace of mind to know she's somewhere where the staff are not overstretched and can provide such great care
So many activities and games, time outside every day & best two words ever: secret garden!
Couldn't recommend any higher-star, staff, safety, food & care.

My daughter has been attending Circus Day Nursery since January 2024 and she absolutely loves it there. She was a little shy when starting, but has quickly found her confidence. She has made friends and also talks highly of the staff. She loves spending time in the lovely outside areas they have at
the nursery. The staff are so friendly and easy to approach if you have any concerns over anything. Her older brother also attended this nursery and loves coming to visit all the staff, who always say hello to him. I cannot recommend this nursery enough.

We chose to place our son in the nursery on the basis of its lovely atmosphere, gardens, reputation, and proximity to home.
As an only child with other family members living far away, we felt it was important that he experienced a social environment.
I am astounded at his progress, especially his

Management is absolutely awful, no communication regarding safeguarding issues. The manager refused to speak on the phone and sent a snotty email full of lies. Would not send your child here whatsoever, awful manager and awful Ofsted report. The nursery tried to safeguard for child going in with a bump
but when my child came home with a huge bump and no incident form or communication regarding the bump it was absolutely okay.

Safeguarding policies are followed at all times, ensuring the welfare of all families, and collaborating with MASH. Our inspection highlights safeguarding arrangements effective. Staff are first aid/safeguard trained with 5 DSL's, above OFSTED requirement. Accidents are treated by a paediatric FA and relevant information is recorded/signed. Parent sign the form, and a copy is kept/logged as H&S incident. Inclusively we follow the graduated pathway with professionals/agencies to support family and review progress. External support was referred for housing/support worker, requested by this parent. Flexible to family's needs to rearrange meetings at short notice. The safeguarding policy is available on our website. A conflict policy is in place as we don't tolerate shouting/swearing and a referral to MASH is considered to protect staff when policy is breached. We work closely with the Early Years team, sorry your experience did not meet your expectations.

From the start of my son going to Circus, I have constantly been impressed by the level of commitment, enthusiasm and compassion of the staff. As a family, we have loved our boys being at Circus. They started during Covid and, from the first day till their last, we have been blown away by how the Circus staff have nurtured, encouraged and loved our boys. They have significantly contributed to the boys they are today and we could not be more
grateful or thankful to the staff. As a parent who works, you are always so torn to leave your children, but time and time again I have known they are safe and cared for so well. My son has been with Circus Day Nursery & Pre-school for nearly 12 months now and absolutely loves it. This is the second nursery he has attended after he didn’t settle in the first, so I was very nervous about starting again. But the team are incredible and he’s thrived since joining. He’s been in
the baby suite and most recently Clowns and every member of staff is brilliant. Entrusting your baby to other people is hard, but I would recommend Circus to everyone!

My daughter enjoys her activities in Clowns (under 2's). She's always doing new things, including music, painting, crafting and we feel that she is safe and happy. The outdoor area is the best we've seen. The team update us in person about her day when we collect her and also add photos and stories
to the online portal for us to view. We're really happy we chose Circus Day Nursery & Pre-school Ltd.

I just wanted to say how impressed I have been so far with Circus, especially the lady in the baby suite.     2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 119 number of registered child places is 23.8, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
