Kings Castle Montessori Nursery School has been providing quality childcare since 1997. In October 2023, the nursery was awarded a "Good" rating in all categories in their Ofsted inspection.

The nursery offers children a happy, safe and nurturing environment where staff support and encourage children to learn and develop to their full potential.

Kings Castle is located in Tuckton, Bournemouth and is ideally situated for children from Littledown, Southbourne, Christchurch and Boscombe.

The nursery welcomes children aged 0-5, offering flexible sessions, funded places, separate rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school, dedicated sleep rooms and a fully enclosed garden with play area, outdoor classroom and toddler garden.

Children aged 2+ can also attend KINGS LODGE, the nature-based annexe on Tuckton Meadow. Kings Lodge offers an abundance of outdoor, nature-based activities .

A team of skilled and professional staff follow the Montessori approach to provide children with a calm and stimulating environment where they can build confidence and independence, explore their interests, make new friendships and be ready for all that life has in store for them.

Both my daughters had a wonderful time at Kings Castle and I couldn't recommend the place highly enough.


The staff show a genuine love for their jobs, the nursery and the children - many tears were shed when we left for 'Big' school !


They have helped to create two confident, independent, friendly

and bright little girls and for that, I will be eternally grateful.

VERY friendly, welcoming and happy staff, who give my son lots of attention.
A lovely atmosphere and bright clean spaces with lots of sensory activities.
I have tried a few nurseries and this is by far the best for my son. I would recommend Kings Castle to other parents.

Both my children have attended Kings Castle; my eldest left two years ago and my other child has been there a year and a half; since he was 9 months old. What impresses me most is the consistent family feel of the nursery. The staff take great care in ensuring individual needs are met for both children
and their parents and respond very quickly to suggestions or concerns. The nursery is flexible in its approach to how my children settled into the nursery; and allowed their individuality to be paramount above any set routines. My children are very independent and self-confident as a result of the Montessori approach embedded at Kings Castle. They enjoy/ed the challenges and freedom of the work cycle and the creativity it focused on. Above all; I fully trust the staff to care for and nurture my child whilst he is in their care. I highly recommend this nursery.

My daughter has been coming here for two years and will be leaving for school this September. She has made lots of friends and loved every minute of her time here. The staff are first class and the whole environment has been a balanced and wonderful learning experience for her. I would not hesitate
to recommend Kings Castle to anyone.

My son started at King's Castle when he was only six months old, very young! He will be leaving for big school in August. I cannot thank King's enough for the last four years! My son is a happy, healthy, inquisitive, confident, sociable little boy which I believe King's and the Montessori ethos was
a contributing factor. I will be sad to see him leave King's but thanks to King's he is definitely school ready!

Our son has only been at nursery since January (he is 1) but has absolutely thrived in his short time there. We have noticed such an improvement in his walking, talking, confidence and social skills. The staff in the baby room are so friendly and caring, and we are very sad to say goodbye to them!

I have sent both of my children to Kings Castle and I have recommended it several times. The ethos of the management team there permeates through the whole nursery and the children have a fantastic multi-faceted learning experience. They have a super setup with lovely outdoor space, and I am very happy
knowing that my children are being cared for, and are learning at the same time, in such a lovely environment. I have total peace of mind that my children are having the best possible start in preparation for school.

My son has been attending the nursery for 3 years. He's been happy there since day 1(since he was 10 months old). He loves every single teacher (so do I). They follow all instructions relating to my son's development and health issues. Everyone is friendly and treat the children with great respect and
they encourage him. I always get feedback and help if I have any concern. The garden is huge (the greatest bonus ever!) and well equipped. The children have the opportunity to work and explore in an amazing environment. The building has improved in the last 3 years and they always work on making it better. I can only comment 100% positively about the nursery.

Both of my sons have attended Kings Castle over a period covering 4 years.
During this time we have enjoyed fantastic care and support for our boys.
Every member of staff that we have encountered at Kings have been fully committed to delivering the best care and support for our children.
There has

Fantastic nursery with great facilities and really caring staff. The children get the opportunity to spend plenty of time outdoors where there are some great facilities. Despite the fact the nursery is big, the staff offer a really personal touch and know the names of every child. Both sets of grandparents
have told me how impressed they have been with the nursery too.

My son has been going to this nursery since he was a few months past his first birthday! He was very reluctant to go and it took a lot of time to really feel settled, in no way was this related to the nursery! They have been very supportive of him and always someone was there to calm him down and reassure
him!. He now enjoys his time there and looks forward to seeing his friends. It's a lovely place and I'm really happy with him there!

Over the past 3 years both of my children have gone to Kings Castle and they have loved it. Every single member of staff are always smiling and so friendly, the managers and key workers are so supportive and reassuring, I couldn't have wished for a better place for my girls to start their education.
My eldest is off to big school now and I feel like we are losing some really good friends. There is only one negative and that isn't even anyone's fault but there could be more morning slots available.

Kings is a very good nursery, all the staff are very friendly and it's also a very welcoming environment.

Both my children have been looked after by Kings Castle over the last 7 years, but they have done so much more than that. Kings has helped them grow into kind, thoughtful and inquisitive children, the team have been such an important part of my children's development and prepared both of them amazingly
well for school. Every person has been kind, loving, fun and a great role model in behaviour, everything you want for your child when you can't be with them. We, as a family, are now approaching the time when our youngest will be leaving and while she is more than ready for her next step it will be a very sad day when we finally say goodbye to the Kings team. In fact I am writing this with a rather large lump in my throat. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kings Castle Montessori to anyone who is looking for childcare, right from the care and love given in the baby room all the way through to the development and education received by the older children. Thank you Kings!

Both my boys go here (1 and 3 years) both started from 6 months. They were amazing in fitting the boys in for a few hours before they started to settle them in. My eldest son has extra physical needs which they help address daily. Both boys are always happy to go and leave smiling, and exhausted! My
son has a lot to say about what he done for the day. The teachers are all very friendly and they've accommodated my needs several times.

Amanda

Amanda Preston

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2010

Amanda has been at Kings Castle for over 12 years and has progressed from working in the Lulworth Pre-School Room to Deputy Manager and now Nursery Manager, for the past 5 years.


Amanda was a parent of King's Castle and when the time came for her son to move on to a big school, Amanda couldn't leave King's behind.


She found a deep love and passion for Montessori, which she studied at a nearby college.


Amanda is also the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Health and Safety lead and Fire Marshall.

Beckie

Beckie Dolan

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2008

Beckie has been at Kings Castle for 15 years and has progressed from a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to Toddler Room Supervisor and Deputy Manager.


Beckie is also a Scout Leader outside of the nursery and has extensive knowledge of outdoor learning activities and group learning activities as well as an abundance of enthusiasm for Early Years!

Fabiana

Fabiana Vieira - Tao

Job Title: Lulworth Pre-School Room Supervisor Joined: 2012

Fabiana has been at Kings Castle for 11 years now and has progressed from working in the Pre-School as a Montessori Directress, to Room Supervisor.


Fab has a Montessori Diploma from a nearby college.
Fab also has 2 children of her own, one of whom currently attends the nursery.

Calum

Calum Smith

Job Title: Kings Lodge Manager Joined: 2016

Calum has been at the nursery for over 7 years now and has progressed from a Montessori Director in the Lulworth Pre-School Room, to Room Supervisor and now Manager of Kings Lodge.


Calum holds a degree in Primary Education and a QTS (Qualifies teacher status) gained from the University of Northampton.


Calum is also an "SEN Representative" and works closely with the nursery SENCO to support children at Kings Lodge.
