Tops Day Nursery - Pokesdown, Bournemouth, offers a professional early years' childcare service and education to children of pre-school age, from as young as three months, as well as running a 'hi 5's club' for youngsters from the age of five to 11 years.

There are no worksheets or workbooks – children are inspired to explore, investigate, design and work things out for themselves. The aim is to inspire children to be adventurous, curious and excited to learn!

Early years' is the time to allow children to have the opportunity to be creative, investigate their environment and build foundations for continued future learning.

A pleasant learning environment is tailored to the personal interests of different age ranges, with a friendly team of carers respectful of culture and background. The nursery has an excellent outdoor play area which is accessible in all weathers and linked to the interior playrooms.

This award-winning nursery is part of a group that provides the most eco-sustainable childcare and education in the UK, being respectful of the environment and acting to reduce, re-use and recycle resources is an important part of the culture and routine for the children and staff.

Top Day Nursery Pokesdown offers very flexible hours. Sessions can be booked to the nearest 15 minutes so parents only book and pay for the hours they require.

Families of children at the nursery are more than welcome to call as often as they like to talk to a member of staff about their child and their day at nursery.

The staff at Tops Boscombe are just fantastic. Throughout the pandemic, the nursery has been supportive and understanding, whilst ensuring the safety of staff, children and parents. They offer a great range of resources for the children to play with. Additional cooking and forest school too, never mind

My son loves going to his sessions. He has got a really good relationship with the staff. Whenever I pick him up, I always have brief feedback about how was he through the day. Everyone is extremely helpful and kind. I am completely satisfied.
I received updates about everything, so I am always up
to date.
The app system gives an insight into what my son was doing, what his interest was for the week.
The admin team and manager is also very helpful and understanding, even in tricky situations, and I can comfortably turn to them for help or guidance if needed.
I can definitely recommend this branch.

Since my child has started at Tops Boscombe, she has loved every second of it. I was very nervous about sending my baby off to nursery, but the staff and nursery as a whole have made it easy to leave her in someone else care. Would defiantly recommend!

I have used tops nursery in Boscombe for almost two years, my sons started at (near) two years old and (near) four years old up to three years old and five years old.
* The best:
The carers: they divide the children into four areas, each area is for a group of age. There is a main carer for each
area plus the assistant(s).
All of them were amazing!
It's really helpful and comfortable that you can rely on them to care for your child; they always called me if something happened and just to keep me updated of any accident or issue.
This is for me what makes difference and matters.
I don't want to make this a long and tedious review to read, the negative aspects are really few and are no worthy for comments.
This particular nursery has my praise and I will recommend it to anyone.

My two-year-old daughter has been going to Tops Boscombe for just under a year now and she has settled in very well, thanks to the help of all the staff. She absolutely loves going to nursery now and comes home telling me all about what a good day she’s had with all of her friends. The care she receives

I'm very pleased with the kindness of the teachers at Tops Day Nursery, Boscombe, especially during this difficult time, my son's nursery closed during the COVID-19 pandemic as they are a small nursery. At the beginning of the pandemic, we managed to look after our 3 sons because of my mom being temporary
"stuck" with. She came to visit and couldn't return to her home country. After 5 weeks of 3 under 5's being locked in the house we started to struggle, especially my mom, as she was left by herself looking after them when me and my husband are both key workers. The manager at Tops Day Nursery was very understanding and supportive and she tried her best to get our son into the nursery. When the great news arrived that our son could go to the nursery 3 days a week we were all very pleased and relieved. Our son loves the setting, his new friends and all the teachers. Many thanks Tops Day Nursery, Boscombe.

Up until recently I have had two children at Tops. My daughter has missed her older brother. Staff have been so attentive to her needs - giving her extra cuddles. Recently my daughter moved rooms, the transition was so supported, that it went very well despite the close bond she had with staff in the
room she was leaving. Both of my children have loved the extra activities Tops provide, especially forest school.

I was a nervous wreck at the thought of leaving my son at nursery but Boscombe Tops have been brilliant!
He absolutely loves it and comes out with all sorts of new words and songs that he has got from Tops and he isn't 2 yet. They have been really supportive and provide a comprehensive update on his
day. I have heard mixed reviews (and seen) about other sites but it's always great for the Boscombe team. Would and do recommend this site.

Absolutely outstanding nursery!!
8 years ago my son graduated from Tops Day Boscombe and when I had to choose nursery for my daughter over a year ago, I knew it will be Tops again. Every morning she was looking forward to go back and see her friends. Her favourite Forest School and Cooking School were
something to look forward to every week. It gave her confidence and now all she talks about is taking a train to forest :) Thanks to all staff and their loving care she is ready to start next chapter which is primary school.
All staff are absolutely amazing, communication outstanding, management excellent. I couldn't ask for better care and I will always recommend Tops to everyone. My girl did learn so much, she met a lot of friends and she has memories that will be cherish for ever.

Every day my son comes home dirty, tired and hungry and I couldn’t be happier - as a parent I worry about what happens at preschool and what goes on. All I can say is my son comes home full of tales of fun with his friends, adventures from forest school, going on buses, trains and building dens, demonstrates
his new cooking skills, proudly displays his pictures he has drawn putting them on the fridge, sharing the new facts he has learnt and always has a big smile on his face. He then goes upstairs every night and plans what to take the next day.
Tops have helped create a safe and stable environment. The key staff have nurtured my son into a confident boy; who is ready to start school. He idolises staff who have always gone above and beyond, who comfort, encourage and have a genuine desire to care for the children in their rooms - most of all, as a parent, I’m happy leaving my son there knowing he will be having a fun filled day, with great staff and friends.
