Bright Horizons Bristol Day Nursery and Preschool provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

This lovely refurbished day nursery is set in rural surroundings in the south of Bristol and has a warm feeling as soon as you walk in. The bright and spacious baby, toddler and preschool rooms are all located on one level with great accessibility to stunning outdoor spaces. The baby room also includes a separate sleep area. All children have access to beautiful garden areas throughout the day, with a door from each room leading into the garden to allow for free-flow play. The outdoor spaces include a Growing Gardeners area for planting and a mud kitchen.

Their unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites Programme.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Situated under the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, the nursery overlooks the beautiful surroundings of the Ashton Court Estate.

My son really enjoyed his time in pre-school. It helped him to develop good relationships with many children in pre-school. Staff really tried to encourage children to follow daily routines independently, which helped my son for his school transition. Thank you to all the staff and management for their

My child has just completed his second week at Teddies and I have been very impressed with the staff helping him settle in and with his progress. He is now able to sign and stack lego so his learning is really developing.

My grandson is about to leave Teddies to go to school, having been there since he was 8 months old. The nursery has a wonderful team of staff who really care about the children's development, wellbeing and happiness. They have a large outdoor space, however this is looking a little tired now but staff
continue to use the area effectively ensuring the children are stimulated with a wealth of activities. My grandson is very well prepared for his transition to school thanks to the nursery.

Since joining the setting with my 1-year-old, we are extremely happy with the overall service from Teddies. Our child went to Teddies Bristol for nearly a year, the service and care provided was outstanding.
The activities they do with the children are exciting and engaging. The staff are fantastic at giving a detailed run down of the day and do this with sincerity and enthusiasm.
The environment and access
to this nursery is very secure.
I would recommend Teddies to any parent putting their child in for more than 3 days. The only quibble I had was that for one day a week attendance it was exceptionally expensive in comparison to the local nurseries.

Fantastic nursery. Very good communication with parents. Good outdoor space and plenty of outdoor time. Staff are very committed and attentive. Staff really seem to "know" the children. Our child is always happy to go to nursery and reports very positively.

My child always has a good time at nursery. My child is always doing new and exciting activities. The nursery workers are always really friendly and are brilliant with the children.

I have a son at Teddies and a daughter who was at the nursery and now goes to school. Both are/were very happy and well looked-after there, and we in turn are very happy that they're there. I'm impressed at the careful attention that goes into helping the children to develop, at the friendly and happy
atmosphere at the nursery, and at the good communication among the staff and between the staff and families. It is also very good that there's a nice big space for the children to play outside, which gets a lot of use.

My daughter has been attending Teddies Bristol since she was 11 months old. I have always felt completely safe and happy to leave her in the good care of the staff. The genuine warmth and care in the Baby Care room is outstanding and it's exactly what a parent wants when they are away from their child
for the first time. The Little Learners room with their enthusiastic and dedicated staff is great for exploring different activities and getting messy - stuff you will not quickly do at home! And PreSchool is an excellent preparation for school, where the children start doing gentle learning through play and are given plenty of room to forge friendships.
Teddies is very good at organising 'special' activities, such as Forest School, Stay & Play days and special celebrations such as Christmas Parties.
My daughter asks me "can I go to Teddies now please mummy?", what more do you want to hear as a parent?

My 18month old son has been attending the baby room at Teddies for 6 months now. I feel really pleased with the level of care and attention my baby receives. He has a key carer that looks after him and this relationship is so important to him feeling secure and comfortable. I have built a great relationship
with his key carer and feel confident that his needs are met whilst at Teddies. The feedback I receive at the end of the day is great and you get a sheet to take home that details what they have eaten and how they have slept etc. Although the baby room has recently gone through a few staff changes which can be u settling for the babies they have been effective in minimising these impacts. Also before my son joined I attended a few settling in sessions with him so I could see first hand how the staff interact with the babies and this gave me a lot of confidence in them. The setting of the nursery is great, away from major roads and noise and plenty of outside space.

Teddies is a great open & honest nursery. It's really important that I know if my child hasn't had a great day or know that they've only eaten a little bit of dinner. The staff really care about the kids and ensure they have fun. My daughter took a while to settle in but now she absolutely loves it.
I love the fact she comes home muddy or covered in body paint. They are always outside and everyday there are new activities. She has gained so much confidence & has created friends. She come homes singing songs, counting, doing makaton which indicates that's she's learning lots too. I would thoroughly recommend this nursery.

Our daughter has been in the nursery since she was 11 months old and now she is 3 1/2 And to be honest I could not fault it. When we arrived at babycare we were welcomed with open arms and the staff and management were very helpful and supportive. My daughter had lots of support and thrived in her
first year at teddies. When she moved to the little learners room she gained loads of confidence and explored so much. As a family we were also supported by the nursery and there were plenty of opportunities to meet other families. Now in pre school she is a confident thriving individual and we are very happy with the care and support she receives along with the discipline and range of extra curricular activities, we know she is more than ready for school.

My daughter has been attending Teddies Nursery from 10 months and is now 3 years old and I cannot believe how far she has come, she absolutely loves all the staff and is very happy at Teddies, my other daughter is also due to start in the next few months and will be 10 months also when starting, I won't
be as nervous this time round as I know how great the babycare staff are. I highly recommend Teddies Nursery as I know how stressful and worrying going back to work can be, but leaving my children in there capable hands has made life so much easier and knowing how much my daughter enjoys it and is happy Is fantastic! :)

Both my children have attended teddies and I couldn't be happier and neither could they. All workers build up a lovely bond with the kids and they are always happy to go. Always lots of activities going on to keep them entertained. I would recommend teddies to anyone!

Teddies is a fantastic nursery and preschool, and my two have thrived there, enjoying each days activities, growing in confidence, learning and making new friends. The nursery staff are very professional, supportive and clearly caring of each individual child. I particularly like all the special activities
they do, from deer feeding to Christmas plays, stretch & grow classes to forest school! I would definitely recommend it to anyone. It's a very happy place!

I think Teddies is a great nursery. My son attended from 2 years old until he just started school this year and I strongly believe he was prepared well for the transition to big school. My daughter is still there and I am still very pleased with the level of care, attention and communication I get from
staff members. One of my favourite things about first visiting Teddies was how it felt like it was in the countryside and I really liked the outside space. Compared to a lot of nurseries it is pretty special as it isn't in a built up area where naturally space is of a premium. In the summer the older children spread out onto the field which I love! Both my children have only ever done the equivalent of 2 days a week there but they seem very happy and have gained good confidence and social skills. Will always have a special place in my heart for Teddies as my kids move on to pastures new and would thoroughly recommend to other parents.

Teddies is a fantastic nursery. My daughter started here when she turned 1 years old and has just left to go to school and my son has also been here since he turned 1 and will stay until he goes to school in 2 years. The staff are very caring and build fantastic relationships with the children. The
variety of activities offered is great and helps with all stages of their development. Communication from the staff in the rooms and management is excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this nursery.

Our family has used Teddies for fours years since my daughter was 9 months old and my son still attends. We have always been impressed by the genuine warmth and care our children receive and the positive attention their carers give them. The creative range of activities that are provided for the children,
particularly in the baby and toddler rooms, is excellent. The staff work very hard and are worth their weight in gold! There is not a particularly high turnover of staff like some nurseries so the children build good relationships with their carers, and most importantly, have fun! The outside space is well used, and the older children use the field in the summer too. Communication from management is efficient and friendly. My children have thrived there and their needs were well met in each room. Highly recommended.

My 11 month old baby has settled in really well at the nursery. The staff are enthusiastic and communicate well with the parents and give honest updates on how the child is settling in. So glad we chose Teddies!

Helen

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Helen has over 24 years of experience in childcare, having qualified with an NNEB in Childcare and Education. She has had a long career with Bright Horizons, joining in 2000 as a Nursery Practitioner and becoming Nursery Manager in 2009. She is passionate about creating an environment where children can experience awe and wonder, fostering a love of learning and preparing them for lifelong education.


Working closely with her team, she motivates them to go above and beyond in their roles, ensuring the best possible start in the early education journey for every child. Additionally, she is a mother of two teenage boys who also graduated from Bright Horizons many years ago.

Danielle

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Danielle started working for Bright Horizons in 2013 while studying for her Childcare and Education Level 3 qualification. Initially working one day a week, until she transitioned, upon completing her qualifications, to a full-time nursery nurse in the toddler room.


Having gained confidence and skills in her role, she successfully applied for senior roles leading to being appointed as the Toddler Room Leader.


Embracing Bright Horizons' culture and the Early Years practices, she is always seeking to improve and provide the children in her care with the best start to their education and love of learning.
