Bright Horizons Bristol Day Nursery and Preschool provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

This lovely refurbished day nursery is set in rural surroundings in the south of Bristol and has a warm feeling as soon as you walk in. The bright and spacious baby, toddler and preschool rooms are all located on one level with great accessibility to stunning outdoor spaces. The baby room also includes a separate sleep area. All children have access to beautiful garden areas throughout the day, with a door from each room leading into the garden to allow for free-flow play. The outdoor spaces include a Growing Gardeners area for planting and a mud kitchen.

Their unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites Programme.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Situated under the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, the nursery overlooks the beautiful surroundings of the Ashton Court Estate.

My son has been at Bright Horizons Bristol Day Nursery and Preschool for just over a year, since he was one years old. I cannot express enough how much I love this wonderful nursery and my son regularly runs in their doors with excitement in the mornings. As well as providing all sorts of fun and engaging
activities, the staff really go above and beyond to make sure children feel loved and confident here. The warmth and caring nature of the place is something that strikes you as soon as you walk in and is why it feels really right for my son. The days also feel very well structured in terms of supporting children's learning and development. Smaller things that I appreciate are the menus, I think my son eats better here than he does at home! I like how easy it is for the children to go out and play in the garden, which has a beautiful view of the country estate opposite. I'm looking forward to him moving into the Preschool and trying out the Forest School!

What a lovely team. My daughter, who is now at school, attended Bright Horizons for 2.5 years and my son has been at the nursery for 6 months. Both children love the nursery and are excited to go. My boy, who is 14 months old, reaches for them when going in which is a huge relief to know that he's
pleased to go in. My daughter, who is in reception, still asks me if she can go back to the nursery from time to time. The staff are patient, kind and really enthusiastic and excited to spend time with the kids. The outside space is amazing and there is also a forest school for the older ones.

Our daughter is really happy at Bright Horizons, she is really well looked after and is thriving there. Staff are all welcoming, warm, caring and helpful. Activities are different and varied every day and we especially like that the children spend a lot of time outside in the garden.

We are an Indian Family and our son did not speak English when he joined the pre-school. He got used to the school quite soon as the school has all the support for non-English speaking children to understand the necessary instructions. We were worried at first, but the caring and nurturing environment
has been very supportive for my son. He has become very confident in the school and in his skills. He is generally very curious and the environment of the school has been quite satisfying for his curiosities on an everyday basis. They also do not adhere to a strict routine for all children but give attention to the child's interest. This is quite an ideal place for the children to be very comfortable within the environment. Their activities are also very interesting and creative for the little minds. Some of the caregivers also give comforts whenever necessary as preschoolers are yet to be completely independent. I would highly recommend the nursery to any family I would come across.

The staff at Bright Horizons have been amazing since the first day my son (11.5 months) entered nursery. The nursery is clean and safe. The meals are well-considered and healthy. The activities are excellent for learning and development. I am very happy that my son is attending now four days a week.

My child has only been going to nursery for two months, but I already feel very comfortable with the welcome he has had and how well the staff have got to know him. I have seen a huge growth in his confidence and independence and trust of other adults. The staff keep a very close eye on him and are

I went to first visit the nursery after a recommendation from a friend whose child was there. My son was 12 months when he started and the girls made the transition for him going to nursery very smooth and not stressful for him. Any requests I had in relation with my routine was followed and daily updates
were given to us each day. My son loves going to nursery so much he doesn't even look back once we’ve opened the doors. He has built loving relationships with all the girls there - that speaks volumes. He’s come on so much with his development, he’s learnt lots of new skills and loves all the messy activities with painting and the sandpit. He’s tried different foods and the consistency with the approach in feeding has helped him try new foods and have great eating habits. I highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for somewhere fun and interactive for their child to develop all the important skills to put them in good stead for the years to come. Thank you everyone.

Couldn't think of sending my son anywhere else! This nursery is great and all the staff are amazing.
The staff are always there to help, answer any questions you have and most of all are amazing with all the children.

I think the nursery is excellent. They've brought my son on in leaps and bounds. He loves going. They do lots of brilliant activities and days out too. If you ask them for help they always do their best. I've not got a bad word to say about them.

We recently moved our two-year-old daughter to Bright Horizons Bristol from another nursery. She was a bit unsettled, as expected, but the staff made her feel so welcome and put her at ease. She has now settled into Little Learners and has a big smile on her face at the end of the day. The place is
so bright and airy and I love the big outdoor play space, which my daughter loves to play in. The staff are all so friendly, and I know she's in safe hands. Even though my daughter has only been going for a few weeks, I have no doubt that this was the right place for her. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

We love Teddies and all the staff! Our daughter is incredibly well looked after and talks about all keyworkers in the room as her friends. The manager takes a very keen interest in the children and is very aware and quick to discuss anything we need to. The lady in Little Learners has been a firm favourite
for years and had such a special relationship with our daughter too. The ladies have a very special place in our daughter's heart too. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the nursery!

Moving from overseas, we have been nothing but impressed by the professionalism of the whole staff in ensuring a smooth transition into the UK system for our 2-year-old daughter. We are so grateful for the incredible care and the warm welcome received each morning. We receive a detailed account of the

It was the first time for me to send a child to nursery. Good experience and nice days. Especially as my daughter did not know any English words but she started to talk and use English words in nursery. The manager helped us a lot. All the people there were really nice to us. I know how difficult it
is to communicate with children who do not know the language but they succeed. Just one thing from me and my wife - we could not receive the pictures of our daughter on graduation day preschool photos.

My 16-Month-old daughter started at the nursery on October 19 and the amount of progress she has made is incredible. She loves the staff and the nursery, particularly the baby garden. She is always doing something interesting and the staff have made a lovely book of her interests, learning and development.
It's clear the staff are fantastic at what they do and care for my little girl so well. It is clean and inviting and the view is lovely. I couldn't imagine my child going anywhere else - so glad we took time to look there at the beginning. It is a bit more expensive than some in the area but for all the wonderful things they do, it is worth it for peace of mind and knowing that she loves it!

Our son has been at the nursery for the past fourteen months, and he's really enjoyed his time there. There's a really fun atmosphere, there are always lots of stimulating activities going on, and he spends a lot of time playing outside, as long as the weather's not too bad. There's lots of play interspersed
with stories, songs and time doing crafts and learning/practising their letters and numbers. We're really happy with the progress he's made, the care he receives from the excellent staff in the pre-school room, and also the healthy and varied meals provided.

Having sent our first child to this nursery for the preschool year and found it excellent we enrolled our younger daughter in the baby care room of Teddies in 2018. She’s absolutely flourished with the love, care, play and learning opportunities at Teddies Bristol. The staff are utterly excellent, well
trained and supported by the fantastic in-house management team. There is a very low churn rate of staff and often those who take a sabbatical elsewhere come back with new skills.
I’d recommend this nursery and preschool for its excellent provision of care and love, it’s clear following of EYFS to nurture children’s love of play and learning and its integration into our family.

My daughter has attended Bright Horizons Bristol for the last year and I can honestly say she couldn't be in better hands.
She found transitioning from childminder to pre-school incredibly difficult, but the staff there are amazing, so supportive and caring, she or I couldn't of asked for more.
She
now has formed amazing friendships and enjoys preschool and all the activities that go with it.
There is such emphasis on caring for every individual child's needs and all staff are so attentive.
They do such variety of different activities, focused on all core areas of learning.
I couldn't recommend this nursery more, my self and my daughter have had nothing but the utmost care and support.

Helen

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Helen has over 24 years of experience in childcare, having qualified with an NNEB in Childcare and Education. She has had a long career with Bright Horizons, joining in 2000 as a Nursery Practitioner and becoming Nursery Manager in 2009. She is passionate about creating an environment where children can experience awe and wonder, fostering a love of learning and preparing them for lifelong education.


Working closely with her team, she motivates them to go above and beyond in their roles, ensuring the best possible start in the early education journey for every child. Additionally, she is a mother of two teenage boys who also graduated from Bright Horizons many years ago.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Danielle started working for Bright Horizons in 2013 while studying for her Childcare and Education Level 3 qualification. Initially working one day a week, until she transitioned, upon completing her qualifications, to a full-time nursery nurse in the toddler room.


Having gained confidence and skills in her role, she successfully applied for senior roles leading to being appointed as the Toddler Room Leader.


Embracing Bright Horizons' culture and the Early Years practices, she is always seeking to improve and provide the children in her care with the best start to their education and love of learning.
