Blossom Tree, located near Portishead’s vibrant marina, is a nursery school full of wonder and learning.

Inside the nursery, rooms are tailored to meet the needs of children aged from 4 months to 5 years. The large rooms use natural resources to create an inviting home-from-home environment. Outside, children benefit from a purpose-built wooden structure for toddlers as well as an allotment, all ensuring that they can connect with nature through a variety of outdoor experiences.

Following the Early Years Foundation Stage framework as well as the Storal approach to curriculum, the team work hard to ensure every child is given the opportunity to learn, explore and develop at a pace that suits them.

Meals are freshly prepared by the onsite chef using locally sourced food. Older children also participate in meal preparation and enjoy assisting in the kitchen. Mealtimes are an opportunity for children to refuel, be sociable and learn about nutrition.

Cannot fault Honeytree they have been amazing in the past 5 years when my first little boy started. My second child now attends and loves all the staff which is so reassuring as a mother that they feel confident with who you are leaving them with. Thank you so much Honeytree x

My shy 3 years old started nursery in the beginning of May 2016, we could already seen him more confidence in himself and coming out of his shell and more open to new faces, both children and adults.

He was crying on the first week and really settling in now after a month been in the nursery, thanks

to the fantastic staff who looking after him in the nursery.

We are really happy to see him flourishing in front of our own eyes in such a short space of time, thank you.

The staff at Honeytree are second to none, the management polite, swift and effective and the carers kind, observant and loving. My Son loves going to nursery and doesn't want to leave in the evenings. He always comes home with new skills, a happy face and a clean nappy.
I am happy to recommend Honeytree
to friends and family as a believe the care and learning the best I have experienced and excellent value for money.

Very friendly and also so welcoming, all the staff are. New door security fobs are brilliant. Meals are also very healthy and my child loves them. The new revamp is amazing and gives all the children more space and independence when using the toilet etc.

Honeytree have been really welcoming and friendly since the beginning for us, they are extremely flexible and accommodating/ understanding. Everyone is really professional and the staff seem to be always striving for best practice and training to further themselves.
The setting isn't massive but they
have used the space really well and have lovely resources. The outdoor area is loved by the children and they use it a lot.
My daughter comes home singing new songs I've not heard before and mentions things she's been learning. She settled really well and enjoys going every day.
The setting us safety conscious and I feel confident about leaving my child there.

My son has been going to Honeytree for a few months now, he has some separation issues at drop off but the staff in the room have been amazing with him, even the office staff are great when I ring up for an update. He always has a wonderful time and talks a lot about nursery at home. We are very happy
with the care and attention our son received at Honeytree.

Honeytree is an excellent nursery. Our daughter has been very happy there and within a handful of sessions I was able to leave her with a smile instead of tears - she can't wait to go back each time. This is a testament to the caring and fun nature of the staff and management at Honeytree. They have
given a great deal of thought to different zones for the babies, noisy boisterous fun areas, quiet areas of contemplation and rest. It appears to work hard to encourage independent thought and engagement from the children and I think my daughter finds this approach very empowering. My 16 month old gets all the cuddles she needs but also room to play. When her behaviour is testing, the staff are patient and helpful with discipline advice. We always get a full report every day. I have already recommended Honeytree many times to friends and acquaintances for all of these reasons, but also because they always do their best to accommodate Parents' needs where possible.

This nursery has a wonderful feel to it. The staff are extremely friendly and caring. My son is very happy and finds all the activities stimulating. Even though sometimes the nursery can be extremely busy, you never feel as though corners have been cut and the staff will always take time to talk
to you if you have and concerns.

The building itself is always very clean and I am very impressed at the organisation of each of the rooms.

Recently many modifications have been made to the building and garden which I can say has really added to the environment for the children in a positive way.

In conclusion I am extremely grateful that my children receive such fantastic care in such a great place.

Honey tree in Portishead is an excellent nursery. The staff have been fabulous with our daughter. They have really helped us and her to adjust to having a new sister and to moving rooms when she was struggling to come to terms with so much change. They cannot do enough to help and are also really flexible
when I need to change to accommodate working for the police. I would recommend this nursery to my friends without a second thought as I really think they are one of the best around.

The nursery is a fantastic setting for children of all ages to grow and develop. They learn skills such as independence, confidence skills, social skills and ways to communicate. The staff support each children individually recognising that they are all unique. They adapt activities and resources to
provide for all children in different situations. As soon as you enter the nursery it's warm, homely, calm and to hear the children laughing and playing as a parent makes my heart jump. My son absolutely adores the nursery and talks about it all the time, he also has high respect for the care he is given by the wonderful staff.

Since my daughter started Honeytree I have seen a massive improvement in behaviour and happiness. The first nursery my daughter attended when leaving, she was quiet and reserved, but now when leaving Honeytree she is happy and positive, looking forward to every session. All the staff are really friendly
and welcoming.

My daughter recently started at Honeytree and has been very happy settling in here. The staff are extremely caring and approachable and I have been so pleased to see how warm they are with her, cuddling her when she is sad. She told me this week that the teachers at Honeytree give the best cuddles in
the whole wild world. The facilities are amazing and it has really benefited from the recent renovation. I would definitely recommend Honeytree and have had a couple of mum friends sign up based on our positive experience here.

Honeytree Day Nursery is very welcoming, the staff are always friendly and it has a lovely atmosphere. My children are both very happy there and are always eager to attend. Their flexibility on days and hours make it so much easier for me to organise childcare as I am a shift worker. They have just
created a wonderful garden for the children and a new extension which has enriched the children's learning and playing.

Since my daughter started at Honeytree Day Nursery in August this year she has settled in quickly and I have no doubt that this is due to the wonderful staff. As a result she is always excited to be dropped off at nursery! Each day we receive a report on what activities she has done and what she has
eaten. We have always been very impressed with the variety of food provided and amazed at the babies sat around a table eating their breakfast and being helped where required. We have every confidence in the staff at the nursery and it always feels like home from home when we drop her off and pick her up. The outdoor play area is excellent. Thanks again.

I felt nervous about sending my 11 month old to nursery, but all my fears went away when I chose Honeytree. All the staff have been very attentive to our daughter and have worked closely with me and my husband to ensure all her needs are met and her development is tailored to suit her. It really shows
just how much the staff enjoy their jobs and this makes Honeytree a happy place to be and mirrors the homely environment I want my daughter to be in.

Staff give very good feedback at the end of each session. My daughter is always happy to be left at the nursery and has built up a great relationship with the staff. Her key worker has been changed a few times over the 2 3/4 years she's been there, but this is understandable due to staff turnover. We
had a few issues with payments, but this was always sorted professionally. I am also pleased that they went back to cooking the meals freshly on site rather than using an external company, and my daughter always eats well. We are very happy.

I viewed 5 nurseries before selecting Honeytree Day Nursery, I am very happy with the care of my son there. The staff are very friendly, all know him even those not in his room. His day is full without being over the top. He always has a story to tell of what he's done. The meals are cooked on site
and obviously tasty. A lot of work has recently been done to renovate the interior and exterior.

Honeytree welcomed my daughter like family, the staff are so lovely and friendly. On our first day they were more than happy to give me frequent updates on how my daughter was doing and never think I am being over the top when I call in from time to time to check on her. I couldn't fault them and would
always recommend them to others.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.937)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.937) out of 10 for Blossom Tree Nursery School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.937 for Blossom Tree Nursery School is calculated as follows: ( (314 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 335 Ratings = 4.937
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Blossom Tree Nursery School is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 number of registered child places is 15.2, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
