Located next door to Bristol Temple Meads train station, Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Bristol boasts tons of character! They partner up with parents by regularly asking for their feedback through questionnaires and parent meetings as you’re the most important person in your child’s life.

They know that little things can make a big difference, so they make sure to give children lots of hands-on experiences. They have areas for growing food (and eating it), make regular visits to local care homes and focus on doing their bit for the environment.

Your child will learn all about the environment and the community through a global eco-schools programme which will make them become a real environmental champion!

The nursery goes above and beyond for safety which is why ALL staff are paediatric first-aid trained. They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with the children and encourage them to make their own choices, express their feelings and make a difference in the world.

They have a Parent-Zone app which keeps you informed about what your child has been up to all day including observations, assessments, meals, and even toilet training progress!

My daughter loved it here. When my daughter first started, she was shy, quiet, not really socially aware, and was not used to leaving mummy. However, her bond with staff was amazing and they helped her come on leaps and bounds. She has progressed amazingly well throughout her nursery experience. The
staff are great and very helpful. Would definitely recommend it.

My son has been attending this nursery since he was ten months old, he's now in the preschool room. He really enjoys his time at the nursery and has a great relationship with all the staff, especially his key workers. We have recently discovered that he has a speech disorder and the staff have been
great at putting some special learning techniques in place to help him develop, working alongside myself and his speech therapist. It is good to know we're all working together as a team.

My two and four year old have been at The Co-op since they were five and a half months and nine months old. They both absolutely love it and have great relationships with their key workers. My son took some time to settle in and the staff were kind and patient with him. They love the outdoor area, the
adventure playground and gardening. The activities in both of the rooms are fun and engaging and I love seeing photos on the ParentZone app. All staff are highly professional and first aid trained and the management team is efficient and approachable. It is such a bonus that meals, nappies and suncream are provided and the staff are very diligent about hats and sun cream (very blonde children).

My son is very happy here! He has formed a really lovely bond with the staff and enjoys the range of activities in the room and the garden. It was my worry when going back to work that he would find it hard to adjust to a new setting but although he took some time, the staff were very good at settling
him in and welcoming him. It's like he's always been there now and he's come on leaps and bounds!

The staff in the rooms are great although it would be good to be introduced in the morning to any agency staff looking after the children.


Management could be more visible and errors in spelling and grammar on communications such as newsletters needs to be improved.

Excellent nursery, staff are friendly and very focused on the personal development of the children. Variety of toys to play with, and extra activities such a painting.
Food is varied and nutritious.

I have now sent both of my children to this nursery and have nothing but praise. The staff are really friendly and put the children first at every point. They always try to think of new and exciting activities and I find it really easy to drop my child off as he loves going. It's great how they supply
all the nappies, creams and food. On another positive is the food is really varied and healthy. They supply Calpol when required which is great for working parents and their opening times work really well. I also find they are great at listening to feedback. Such a fantastic place and both my children have developed with confidence in their care.

My little boy started here just before he turned 1 and he's just about to turn 2. The staff here have been brilliant with him. We have a little biter on our hands and they've been brilliant working with me to try and help him pass through this stage. The environment is lovely and the food is great too.
I am really happy that we have this nursery available and would happily recommend it.

Everyone is always really friendly and helpful. My child loves going to nursery and it’s often hard to get him to come home! He often lists all of the staff and his friend's names which shows how good the relationships are that he has.

Although the staff in the baby room were lovely I found the overall approach to communication disappointing. I logged a call with the main Co-operative Nursery switchboard about access to the online feedback and received no callback or resolution to the issues. I never saw the key worker who we were
assigned - who seemed to not work on the day my child was in the setting.


The setting wasn’t welcoming to parents entering the main door and it was frequently difficult to talk to staff in the office. Rooms were moved without any notice and left me searching for the group. I also was concerned about security on occasion when I could just walk in through the inner door with no one acknowledging or questioning me.


Generally, it felt like, as my child was only there one day a week, that we didn’t get the acknowledgement or attention which should be due to a parent with a baby in the setting.

The individual staff in the rooms are great; they are always enthusiastic and talk fondly and knowledgeable of my daughter. She has bonded well with them and is clearly in a caring environment and receiving focused attention. She would benefit from more structured activities. When picking her up she
often seems left to her own devices a lot and sometimes the children have been watching TV, which I would much prefer not to be the case. They do spend a lot of time in the garden, which is great.


The nursery has suffered from management and staff turn over this year, resulting in poor communication (esp. about room allocations), not knowing who is who and slow responses to emails. I used to really appreciate their flexibility, but company policy is to cut this out with administration fees and no ability to swap days - even if there is spare capacity that day. Also, things like the boards with people's pictures, roles and names are out of date which seems poor.

Our son has been at pre-school here for only 4 months and he’s fitted in so well during this time, he loves that he can play outside when he wants and has made a lot of friends in the short time he’s been here.
He gets on very well with all the staff not just his key worker and his confidence continuously
grows. He loves it here and very excited his baby brother joins the baby room in a few weeks time.
