My son has been at the nursery for around two years now. The key workers he has had, have been incredible, they show a very keen interest in my son in everything that he does, however, it appears that when they are not around things seem to go awry. There have been a few incidents, so severe that it has left me really shocked and upset. More often than not I have to investigate the situation, as they do not come forward to tell the exact details of why my son was hurt. Understandably it is a hard job. Not everything will be done correctly.
I also find that they do not tend to focus so much on learning and more the social and play aspect. Therefore I ensure I do home learning. Generally, my son seems happy to be there, I just wish that I had confidence as a parent when I left him there that he would be safe if his key worker was not around. If he didn’t have the key worker he has now I would move him away from there.
Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry to hear that you are not happy after attending the nursery for 2 years. I would be more than happy to arrange a meeting to discuss any of our policies and procedures or to discuss the Early Years Foundation Stage and the learning approaches that we follow in the nursery. Please contact us on 0117 9079935 to discuss any queries further.
My little boy absolutely loves his days with you! He's learning so much and the attention to him and his learning, as well as the other children, is fantastic! The care that's given from the staff is second to none! The food that's provided sounds lush and he seems to eat it all which is the best sign of both the quality and taste!
Our daughter has been in the nursery for almost 2 years now, and has been through 3 different rooms. Although she has a keyworker in her current room, she's also formed really close bonds with several other staff both in her room and in others - it's always lovely to see her excitement when one of the people from another room is in her area on drop-off, and sometimes she's even run off without a backward glance at me to go and hug someone she hasn't seen in a while! She's coming on in leaps and bounds, and is learning so much - we recently discovered through the parent app that she can now count to 10 because she's never done it at home! Love the updates and photos, the food is really varied, and cooked fresh on-site each day, and the staff were really supportive with potty training. They do a great mix of activities too and, as far as possible, work with what the individual children want to do on that particular day.
We love this nursery! Our son has two key workers who have been brilliant and he has formed a bond with the wider staff teams too. The nursery have been great at being led by individual child needs and our son is clearly developing lots of new skills from being there.
Our daughter started nursery at around five months old and to say my wife and I were nervous is an understatement. We have found the nursery to be fantastic, our girl comes home every day and is happy and smiling. She has built a really good relationship with her carers and is always excited to see them first thing in the morning. They have helped us wean her on to solid foods not to mention all the activities that are laid on such as painting, sensory play and plenty of blocks/toys to explore. All the staff are lovely and any concerns we may have had were addressed quickly and I can honestly say that we wouldn't hesitate in recommending the nursery. The other parents that we have bumped into also seem really nice and by extension, it's lovely to pick up our daughter each night and see that she has a cluster of other newbies that play together. My wife and I often say to each other that we are lucky to have found such a gem and to see our girl become a happy and confident baby. Thanks.
Our eldest son has been attending this nursery for around two years now and we recently enrolled our youngest son too. The staff here are fantastic and really care about the kids. Our eldest clearly enjoys himself as he looks forward to seeing his friends and carers there and usually is playing happily when I pick him up in the evening. Our youngest is also settling in well after several weeks. The team put on a wide roster of activities and menu of meals every week to keep things interesting for all of the kids. They’re also great with uploading notes to the Parent Zone app so my wife and I know how our boys are getting on each day.
My three and a half year old has attended nursery here since she was one year old, moving through all the rooms, and is now in pre-school. She is always happy to attend nursery and has a close relationship with all the staff she interacts with, not just her assigned key person. Staff seem to lead a good range of activities to encourage learning, but allowing them to play and extend activities freely. While sending children home who truly are ill, this nursery does not send them home for every tiny sniffle or sneeze, as I've heard other parents experience at different nurseries. This means I don't have to worry about taking unnecessary days off work. Most importantly though, the staff are always friendly to myself and everyone else. They are never too busy for a cuddle or a listening ear when my child needs one, and I feel that they genuinely care about all the children they are looking after.
I cannot thank the staff enough for all the care and love they have been providing to my daughter for a year. She has come on leaps and bounds with her learning, speaking and confidence. All the staff are very very friendly and helpful including the administration.
My son attended this nursery from 10 months old, he left for school in September 2019. I cannot recommend the nursery enough, fantastic staff, safe, lots to do, great play spaces and good location. The staff are great with the kids and my son thrived here. Happy memories. Thank you to everyone, we miss you!
A really fab nursery, really caring, really interested in getting to know your child. The staff are great and the facilities are brilliant for an urban nursery.
My daughter loved it here. When my daughter first started, she was shy, quiet, not really socially aware, and was not used to leaving mummy. However, her bond with staff was amazing and they helped her come on leaps and bounds. She has progressed amazingly well throughout her nursery experience. The staff are great and very helpful. Would definitely recommend it.
My son has been attending this nursery since he was ten months old, he's now in the preschool room. He really enjoys his time at the nursery and has a great relationship with all the staff, especially his key workers. We have recently discovered that he has a speech disorder and the staff have been great at putting some special learning techniques in place to help him develop, working alongside myself and his speech therapist. It is good to know we're all working together as a team.
Excellent staff, fun, safe, great location. My child loves it here and our second will hopefully be attending too.
My two and four year old have been at The Co-op since they were five and a half months and nine months old. They both absolutely love it and have great relationships with their key workers. My son took some time to settle in and the staff were kind and patient with him. They love the outdoor area, the adventure playground and gardening. The activities in both of the rooms are fun and engaging and I love seeing photos on the ParentZone app. All staff are highly professional and first aid trained and the management team is efficient and approachable. It is such a bonus that meals, nappies and suncream are provided and the staff are very diligent about hats and sun cream (very blonde children).
My son is very happy here! He has formed a really lovely bond with the staff and enjoys the range of activities in the room and the garden. It was my worry when going back to work that he would find it hard to adjust to a new setting but although he took some time, the staff were very good at settling him in and welcoming him. It's like he's always been there now and he's come on leaps and bounds!
My daughter loves this nursery. She comes home every time and has learnt something new. She can’t wait to get in the door. Staff are amazing and she talks about them all the time. Can’t fault it so glad we chose this nursery.
The staff in the rooms are great although it would be good to be introduced in the morning to any agency staff looking after the children.
Management could be more visible and errors in spelling and grammar on communications such as newsletters needs to be improved.
The staff here are fantastic, very friendly and confident with the little ones. They have helped my daughter become more confident and shown us that she can do more things than we thought she could at her age, which has helped us to not underestimate her abilities.
All staff are very attentive, friendly and professional. Great location, food made on the premises is varied and balanced. They provide all wipes and nappies if necessary. Great nursery.
Improvements could be made in communciating who is working in each room and parents could be informed when this changes.
