My youngest daughter is currently in pre-school and has been there since she was 9 months old. My eldest daughter went to Quayside before her and still goes to Forest School in the holidays.
The nursery staff are brilliant and really take the time to get to know your child and their individual needs.
I have no worries leaving my daughter there, the staff look after the children as if they are part of their own family!

My daughter loves Forest school and Little Kickers. She has good bonds with the staff and her key person. The food is great and the staff have been good at encouraging her to try foods. The theme days are great fun.

My daughter just this year started her nursery. For the first few days, she was very stressful but staff were very warm and welcoming. My daughter was connected with her Key nurse (person) very quickly. My daughter's Key nurse (person) makes her calm down when I leave her in the nursery. Care staff
inform me all the time about what my daughter has been doing e.g. when she went for a nap or how much she has eaten. They are always trying to engage them with some activities and I am very pleased with it. I would extremely recommend this nursery to my friends because the nursery rooms are spacious, well equipped, and there are sleeping/resting place and an outside area which is well arranged too. Nursery staff is very friendly, polite and helpful.

My son has attended this nursery for 3 years. He is now in the pre-school room.
I can't rate this nursery enough on all aspects. I am safe in the knowledge that he is safe and cared for.
Every member of staff has got to know my son especially his key persons.
I love that the nursery has a forest
school, an excellent way for children to learn whilst being outside.
The food has always ben excellent which a large variety of flavoured all home cooked.
We will be sad come next September when it's time to leave for primary school, but I am more than happy that he will be prepared in the right for it with the help from Quayside nursery.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.119)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.119) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Quayside Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Bright Horizons Quayside Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (86 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.244 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Quayside Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 number of registered child places is 18. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 18 = 0.444
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Hi, I'm Amy the Deputy Manager.

I started my Bright Horizons journey as bank staff at another setting back in 2008. After quickly becoming a full-time team member, before transferring here as Third in Charge in 2012. Across both settings I was able to grow and commit to many different roles and I was given the given the opportunity to help lead the nursery with a couple of years ago and I am loving every second.

I have a real passion for Keeping Everyone safe with our superhero Candy Floss, and helping to support the foundation for children with our very own bright space but watching these children grow, being at the very start of their lifelong journey through education and having the privilege to be trusted to care to what you find most precious is what makes this job unlike any other and the most rewarding thing.
