We are very happy with this nursery as it offers everything that we were looking for in a nursery.
There are loads of daily activities the children do which help them with development and milestone goals as well as getting them ready for school, we feel comfortable to leave our child at the nursery
as it offers a safe and secure environment.
The staff members are all around very helpful and friendly and we are always kept up to date as to what's happening at the nursery.
The nursery also offers healthy and nutritional snacks and lunch for the kids which is very positive.
Overall we very pleased with the nursery and the nursery team.
Thank you, team.

We visited the nursery when our daughter was 3 months old with the hope of her going at 12 months. The staff were great at allaying fears, assuring both myself and my wife that nursery was a good choice for our daughter.
Our daughter has taken to nursery really well in the year that she has been attending
- which is always a worry. She literally runs in, or sometimes gallops in like a horse, at the start of the day which is a credit to the team that look after her. She loves the staff and they clearly care for her greatly. She loves the food and the social aspects of eating with the other children - she has made lots of friends.
There has been a change in management in the last year which I personally think has made the place better despite the comments of another on this forum. There seems to be a lot more structure to the place and information about the day seems to get through to parents well. I have recommended Quayside to a number of friends who are looking for childcare.

I didn’t really have much reason to use this nursery over any other, except the website and the walk around which made myself and my daughter feel immediately safe and comfortable. Those feelings have never gone and my daughter is still changing and growing daily before my eyes. She loves going to Nursery
and it is still difficult to get her to leave, she has many friends. He speech and vocabulary is coming on in leaps and bounds - not that it was limited before. It is beautiful to see my (almost) 4-year-old enjoying the interaction with children her own age so much and developing such good social skills with the help of all the wonderful staff at Bright Horizons Quayside Day Nursery and Preschool. If you’re thinking of sending your child there - Go for it - It was the best decision I made for my daughter.

All staff are very efficient and caring of the children in their care. The facilities they have for the children to play and learn with are second to none. I am very pleased so far and once my second child reaches nursery stage they will also attend.

The nursery and staff have been amazing. My son has developed so much in the time he has been here and is always so happy and excited to come here. They have also helped support us through a recent family tragedy and have been nothing but helpful and supportive. I wouldn't send my son anywhere else.

Since being at Bright Horizons, our son has come out of his shell and developed a lot, he is getting more confident every day. He always wants to go to nursery (even when he is not due in) and says how much fun he has and how nice everyone is.
We wouldn't want him to go anywhere else and would highly
recommend to all parents to bring their children here.

I am very happy that my wife and I decided to send our son to nursery. It is great to see him developing his personality in a safe and caring environment surrounded by devoted staff and children at a similar development stage. We are very pleased to see our son being friendly to people he meets on the
path of his life (i.e in superstores etc) that is, without doubt, thanks to him being exposed to meeting lots of friendly pupils staff and parents coming to nursery. Our friends a baby have said seeing how our son (comparing to kids raised by their mostly mums at homes) they will be happy to see their child developing in a nursery environment.

My son has been going to Quayside for about 7 months now. He has learnt so many words from there, the staff are good and the children's menu (food) is great.
When I go to pick up my son after a day's work he sometimes does not want to leave the nursery. This means he has had a great day and gives me
joy and reassurance as a full time working mother.
On a few occasions, he has had falls injuring his forehead, lips and tongue and unexplained scratches on his face possibly from other kids which got me worried. Overall, I'm happy with the care. Thank you to the staff and management.

My son has been at Bright Horizons Quayside Day Nursery and Preschool since he was 6 months old and the nursery has been amazing. He has been encouraged to grow and learn at his own pace and the staff really work with the parents to support the children through their difficulties. He has learnt so much
in preschool and is almost ready for the big step towards school.

Please note all reviews before this are when another lady was running the nursery.

My story begins as the new lady took over, I have noticed a changing trend with the nursery. Since we are in the coldest months, the nice hot/warm food that was provided has now changed to sandwiches for dinner. They

say it has been due to deliveries however they have 'chefs' on hand which should be able to whip up something a little more appetising for our little one in the coldest month of the year.

It's a shame. Our little one was doing so well and developing new skills but now with the babies in their room (as staffing is an issue) this has taken its toll on our child and they have started digressing back to a baby, crawling and screaming for attention, where before they would want to walk everywhere and try their best to use words (random sounds but we know what they are after).

My child has attended this nursery for 4 years and I would recommend it all day long. Staff are amazing, thoughtful and considerate of each child's needs.

I have been comforted by their willingness to listen to concerns, no matter how trivial, and find a way to overcome them.

I love the diverse

way of learning which is brilliant and my child loves the variety of interactions.

Where to begin on how FAB this Nursery is.

From day one they have made me and my son more than welcome and instantly made us feel like part of a 'family'.

Most recently though I have seen huge improvements in staff morale and even the children's morale since new management has come in.

The

communication towards parents has also vastly improved. Before when I called in to say my son was sick and not attending I would get a call later to ask where he is. Now, however, I get a call to ask how my son is feeling and if there is anything they can do to help.

The food they supply is superb and very nutritional, my son usually has seconds! Love the updates at pick up time.

Today was the best day - I dropped off my son to a special themed day that they had planned around his love for the Disney Film Moana and all the children were elated at the games and activities laid out for them.
It so refreshing being able to come to work knowing he is safe, happy and well cared for - Thank you!

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.119)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.119) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Quayside Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Bright Horizons Quayside Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (86 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.244 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Quayside Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 number of registered child places is 18. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 18 = 0.444
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Hi, I'm Amy the Deputy Manager.

I started my Bright Horizons journey as bank staff at another setting back in 2008. After quickly becoming a full-time team member, before transferring here as Third in Charge in 2012. Across both settings I was able to grow and commit to many different roles and I was given the given the opportunity to help lead the nursery with a couple of years ago and I am loving every second.

I have a real passion for Keeping Everyone safe with our superhero Candy Floss, and helping to support the foundation for children with our very own bright space but watching these children grow, being at the very start of their lifelong journey through education and having the privilege to be trusted to care to what you find most precious is what makes this job unlike any other and the most rewarding thing.
