Spring Thorpe Hamlet offers a friendly and secure approach to early years learning at an affordable cost. Children aged from 3 months to five years are given the best start to life through early years provision.

The nursery is located in Norwich and offers 53 Ofsted-registered places for children aged from three months to five-years-old. The setting was assessed as 'Good' by Ofsted in March 2023.

A team of caring, friendly and qualified staff help each child develop at their own pace in a safe, friendly and fun environment. Staff plan activities in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and actively encourage parents to become involved in the life of the nursery.

The nursery is open from 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday, 51 weeks of the year, excluding bank holidays and staff training days.

We moved our daughter to Spring after her previous preschool shut suddenly. We are extremely pleased we found this childcare setting. I am impressed with the app that is used to log and communicate what my daughter is doing during the day. The staff are friendly, and my daughter is really happy in this
setting. We had some issues with the first payment invoices, but I think this was due to the central team, not the preschool, and was sorted out quickly. The outside space is lovely, and they have been on several trips outside the setting, which is something she never did at the previous preschool. Extra sessions are available again and easy to book because of the app, and communication from the staff makes us feel more involved with her preschool experience.

I have been very impressed with Spring Nursery Thorpe since my child started. The app is a great tool to provide updates and two-way communication when needed. The staff are all incredibly friendly, and our child has a great day there and enjoys the food, toys and outside space. You can really tell
when something new has been learnt at the nursery, including songs, dancing and words.

My child has been going to Spring for almost a year and seems to love it there. The staff are very nice and friendly. At home, she naps for a good couple of hours but wasn't napping at nursery, but with a bit of persistence, things improved. The food is ok; they say they provide a balanced menu, but
I'd question some of it. They seem to spend a good amount of time outside, which I think is really important. Overall, they have been great and provided my child with great activities and care.

Our daughter has been with Spring Nursery.
Communication generally was poor - emails missed.
Communication between management and staff was poor, ie I would email in and get a different answer from the staff.
They do not have environmental policies.
Children do not leave the nursery, although
the is a great woodland around the corner.
The nursery did not once fulfil an additional session request, despite taking new customers.
The staff themselves are lovely.

We are really happy with the nursery. Our son enjoys every day there. There are plenty of activities to do (he is under 2). He loves spending time outside and on the climbing frames. He was extremely clingy as a baby, but the staff were so helpful in getting him settled in the initial period. He loves
it now and gets excited as soon as he sees the entrance gate. The food on offer is varied and good.

My daughter loves this nursery and runs in ahead of me in the morning, barely pausing to say bye! She's very close to her key worker, and her key worker seems to really care about her too. All the staff are lovely, and we're regular kept updated on the app of activities and changes in staff etc. They
do a wide range of activities, both indoors and out, and my daughter's speaking and motor skills have really come on since starting there. The only gripe we have is that she sometimes is sent home when she isn't actually ill but just teething, but we can see that the nursery has to be careful, especially in these times, and it can be difficult to tell the difference between teething and the beginning of a bug.

Amazing nursery, staff are great, and he has absolutely loved every second of his first year there.

In the first four months of my child attending nursery at Spring in Thorpe, there was a very high staff turnover, sessions cancelled and interrupted, but the situation seems to have calmed down and turned a corner for the better. The outdoor space is limited, and my child is clumsy, but freakquently
injures himself on rocks etc whilst playing outside. The staff currently working seem to have things in hand and are very friendly and informative.

I have been so impressed with Spring Thorpe Hamlet. The communication is great, and all the staff make such an effort with the parents and children. My child has been attending since he was ten months, and he has settled so well here, which was a huge relief to me. The food they provide is also excellent,
and they have catered for a dairy allergy so well. I would definitely recommend this nursery!

Our daughter has been at Spring since she was 11-months-old and is now in the pre-school room. It's a fantastic nursery, and the staff are all friendly, caring and supportive. There is a huge focus on outdoor play, which we love, and the activities are varied and creative. Our daughter always comes
home happy and tells us about her day. We will be sending our younger daughter from early next year, and I am confident she will flourish there as much as our first has.

Spring has been absolutely amazing with both of my daughters – who are close in age but very different in personality. I must thank the manager for alleviating our concerns as were very new to the area (after a big re-location), and our daughters have never been in a setting of this size. The settling
in sessions helped lessen our stress levels and really helped our youngest, who was (at the time) much quieter and nervous. Fast-forward six months, and they are thriving. My youngest has grown in confidence and is no longer as shy or sensitive, and my oldest daughter's language has sky-rocketed. The setting is lovely, and I always feel confident in the staff, who have built amazing relationships with the children. The app is fantastic, as no matter how busy we are, we always feel in the loop. The food is always diverse and nutritious, and it's good to see that their tastes are broadening! Varied activities and messy play are always on the agenda too. We highly recommend Spring!

We moved to the area and were hoping to find a nursery for our almost 1 year old. This was our first experience of nursery bundled in with a house move and a relocation. The nursery staff were so supportive from settling in, gently in a way that suited our daughter best. She loves going to nursery and
talks about her key worker lots. The activities are wide and varied, so lovely to see photos pop up on the app of what they've been up to, and they've managed so well throughout the pandemic too. We'd be lost without them. You really feel like they are doing the best by each individual and really listening to what their interests and development areas are. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Spring Nursery Thorpe Hamlet.

Spring Nursery Thorpe Hamlet has been amazing with my daughter. It is small enough to feel really nurturing whilst the facilities and the way it is run are professional and reassuring. The staff are friendly, committed and really kind. They attentively record and feedback what my daughter has been doing,
and I know from the way my daughter talks about the nursery that it’s happy, caring and encouraging environment. She had a tricky patch where she was unhappy about drop off, but the staff were always really good about making her feel safe and happy. They do an amazing job, and I would highly recommend it as a nursery. They spend a lot of time coming up with creative ways to entertain and educate the children both indoors and outdoors. The food is always nutritious and interesting. The communication from the nursery is excellent, and I feel really engaged with it.

Everyone really does an amazing job, especially during these difficult times. They make sure that you are completely in the loop with the activities they have planned, which is great. Since my son started in October, he has completely done a 180, going from being really shy since the first lockdown,
to now being back to himself. They have done a great job helping progress his speech, and always give me some ideas to help when he’s at home. Honestly, can’t rate everyone there enough.

Both our children have attended or do attend this nursery. Our son got on perfectly and now attends school. Our daughter, we were apprehensive about as she struggled to be away from us, however, we were pleasantly surprised! She loves attending nursery, the staff are amazing, promptly answering queries
