Patacake Day Nursery is a private day care nursery situated in a light and spacious building in Sedley Court in Cambridge.

The nursery is conveniently situated with easy access to the A14 and M11 and is only a short walk from Cambridge train station.

Patacake Day Nursery is open full-time from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm caring for children from 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery recently underwent a full refurbishment. The environments have been designed to cater for the individual ages and stages of the children and to provide a caring and nurturing environment which stimulates their curiosity and imagination.

The rooms are equipped with state of the art educational resources, providing environments rich in exciting and engaging learning opportunities and experiences which are tailored to meet children's individual interests.

The nursery's on-site chef prepares all the children's meals fresh on the premises each day and the menus are designed in conjunction with a paediatric dietician.

The nursery also offers extracurricular activities including a gardening activity which is supported by the Royal Horticultural Society’s School Gardening Awards training programme.

Patacake nursery were finalists at the 2023 NMT awards in the SENCO category.

Patacake is a wonderful place where children can learn, play and develop amazing relationships. Two of my 3 children attended Patacake and I could not be happier (particularly compared with the nursery my first child went to, due to not having a place at Patacake at the time). Staff are caring and friendly
and the activities they do with them always give my children a lot to talk about at home!

My daughter is in the toddler room at Patacake and she absolutely loves it. They do fun activities like growing peas, painting, reading lots of books and occasionally going out on adventures. They have lots of outdoor space as well.
The staff are wonderful. They do such a great job of updating us on
the progress of our daughter. We have a weekly update email which tells us what’s been going on at the nursery, and amid COVID they have kept us well informed of all the changes going on. Including videos for my daughter to watch about all the changes.
I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for childcare in the Cambridge area.

Both my children have attended Patacake Day Nursery. The staff there are warm and friendly and have made my children's time there very special. It's a lovely feeling to be able to drop your child off every morning knowing they are in the best hands with people who really care about them. Every day when
I pick my son up he is happy and has had the best day. It’s going to be so sad when he leaves to start school in September. We will miss Patacake.

The nursery staff and management have done so well with re-opening the nursery. It has been a daunting time for adults, let alone our little ones but at Patacake they have done everything in their power to make everyone feel safe and the children settled back in. The manager settled any concerns we

My daughter has been in Patacake for around 2-years, she is always happy to go to class, and talks a lot about her teachers at home.
These teachers are also very friendly and welcoming. I feel like I am lucky when I chose this nursery for my daughter.
Highly recommend the nursery to everyone.

My daughter enjoyed her time at Patacake Nursery. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. The drive home was always filled with non-stop talking telling me what she had done!
I highly recommend Patacake and feel lucky we got to have a place in such a well run and fun nursery.

Our daughter attended Patacake for 1 year starting at 12 months and I can highly recommend Patacake for early years. All the staff has been friendly, attentive and doing amazing work to make the children feel safe and enjoy their time there. Our daughter was always happy to be dropped off in the morning
and had clearly bonded with the staff.
We've valued the regular updates about both our child's daily activities and health (food intake etc), her skills development, as well as about the future plans on nursery management and activities. They regularly incorporate special activities and foster age-appropriate play and learn.

Our daughter has been attending Patacake Day Nursery for almost one year. She started when she was 7 months old and has been taken care of wonderfully both in the babies room and now the pre-toddler room. The staff have always been very friendly, caring, flexible and attentive to her needs. Our daughter
enjoys the atmosphere and the activities and has bonded with her key persons. The communication with the administrative staff has always been excellent.
Unfortunately, the nursery is now closed to help with the Covid-19 emergency response. But the staff have managed this challenging situation extremely well. We hope they will reopen as soon as the crisis is over.

My son has attended Patacake since the end of last year and I can’t recommend them enough. On his first settling in day, they had set out play activities tailored to his favourites to make him feel at home. Each room has its own outdoor area so they are free to go outdoors as much as they want (weather
permitting) which is very important to us. We get a rundown, of the day at pick up and we especially like the weekly nursery update with the week’s activities and plans ahead. Our son has made some great friends, loves his caring team and is totally absorbed in the play activities. Thank you Patacake.

The nursery is a very welcoming and relaxed environment. Everyone is engaged and helpful. The rooms are decorated and arranged really well, there is good outdoor space and it is fully used. Patacake is a fantastic nursery which both my daughter and son have attended. The staff at Patacake are all amazing, I have always felt so comfortable leaving my children in their care. The range of activities they offer for the children are engaging and varied and the design of the building means that
there is a free flow between the inside and outside, which is a really important element for us. I would highly recommend Patacake.

Patacake is an excellent, friendly nursery.
My son is in the toddler room, where he is well taken care of by the caring, supportive and enthusiastic staff.
He has made many friends with his peers and he is happy and thriving at the nursery due to the staff and the wonderful activities they offer.

Patacake Day Nursery have been very warm and welcoming and my daughter really enjoys it. She loves telling me about what she did with members of staff and other children. Whenever I pick her up, she's always in the middle of doing something fun with a smile on her face.

The staff are always enthusiastic and create a caring learning environment for the children. The open-ended loose parts resources create curiosity and imagination and develop the characteristics of effective learning. For the preschool room it is a very active room with various activities for all the children to be able to learn, the only thing I would like to see is for the children to learn phonics to get them already working towards this for when they start reception, both my children attended the nursery and

My daughter started in January when I went back to work. The staff in the baby room were amazing and made this process smooth and easy for both of us! She really seemed to take to her key worker and was happy to be hanging out with her reading books and doing fun activities! This really helped put my
mind at ease and I am very grateful to all of the staff for helping her settle in so well.


She has since moved up into the pre-toddlers room, and both my parents and I have noticed that she has learned a lot and is more confident. They are always doing activities and playing outside, she really loves going and likes all of the staff members. It really puts my mind at ease that she is so happy there, she goes straight in without looking back most mornings!

James has been at Patacake for 15 years and has a level 3 in childcare as well as leadership and management. He is our nursery SEND lead as well as behaviour management lead as well as running the toddler room.
