The beautiful Fulbourn Day Nursery and Preschool, eco-friendly in design and located within Capital Park, is designed to enrich the learning and development of your child, from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Set in a green and tranquil environment, the spacious, purpose-built nursery has rooms tailored to suit each age group. The Nursery staff team use babies’ natural curiosity and a range of sensory toys to help develop their motor skills, physical development and speech recognition. Toddler rooms are set up to help them learn more about the world around them – interesting shapes, textures and words. Preschoolers enjoy early reading, writing and mathematics in fun and interesting ways, alongside other subjects such as art and science.

To extend your child’s play and learning beyond the bright indoor facilities, Fulbourn nursery has an extensive garden. Each age group has its own area, with age-appropriate toys to encourage physical development, coordination and teamwork. The Nursery also has a beautiful natural meadow that is used in the warmer months as an outdoor classroom.

The nursery in Fulbourn is on the northern end of Capital Park. There is ample onsite car park and great access to the bus routes on Fulbourn Old Drift. The Nursery has all-inclusive fees, including all meals, snacks, nappies and wipes, which gives you less to worry about on busy mornings.

My 2 and a half-year-old has been at Fulbourn Bright Horizons nursery since his first birthday. He started in the "baby" room, is now in the "toddler" room and will soon progress to "rising 3's"- and his gestating brother is registered too. He adores this nursery - the rooms are spacious, each with
their own quiet sleeping area and outdoor garden with age-appropriate toys. The nursery is purpose built and is situated in a very quiet spot, away from roads and cars, nestled within a large green park with lots of mature trees. The children spend a lot of time outside and so it is nice to know that this time is accompanied by a background noise of birds chirping rather than cars. The food plan is specifically designed by a nutritionist and the staff are very receptive to any parental preference on food. Furthermore, the staff and management seem genuinely interested in the happiness and wellbeing of the children in their care. I can’t recommend this nursery highly enough.

My son has been at Fulbourn Day Nursery and Preschool (Bright Horizons) for over a year now and it really feels like a part of the family. I love seeing how well-socialised he's become and there always seems to be plenty of staff members around to give him a cuddle when he needs it.
The nursery staff
have helped with so many challenges such as getting him to eat, helping him walk, teaching him to share and teaching him words. He spends every available moment outside (weather permitting) in the area set aside for his age group and he has never come home injured.
When he's ill, the nursery takes it very seriously and helps me determine the best approach based on his symptoms. We recently experienced very heavy snowfall in the area, but Bright Horizons Fulbourn remained open which allowed me to go to work while parents of children at other nurseries had to stay home from work that day. I really love this nursery.

My daughter has been going to this nursery for almost a year and she is happy going every day and never hesitated. The staff are very friendly and kind and my daughter never complained about anything so far. The nursery opens from 7 AM until 6 PM and it is really convenient for working parents to drop
off early and pick up after work. Staffs keep the nursery clean and tidy and it always keeps a good impression for the nursery. I will definitely recommend this nursery to anyone.

We have had two children at this nursery and have always found it to have very friendly, responsible and proactive staff and management.


One of our children required some additional developmental help; the nursery has been excellent in both initially identifying this, giving extra care, and also

in guiding us with the necessary steps in successfully applying for government support.

My son stayed in this nursery from his very early start (1 1/2 years) until now - he is 3 1/2 years old. He was very shy and sensitive initially but now is so confident and open. All these fantastic changes are made by the brilliant team in the nursery. From the Toddlers' Room to Rising 3 to Pre-School,
all the teachers are warm-hearted. They spent great effort to settle him in, to teach him good manners and communication skills. The nursery activities are so impressive and the security is at an outstanding level.


Thanks to all teachers and the nursery manager at this day nursery. My son has settled in another Pre-Prep School successfully with so many developments.

Both of my children have been coming to the nursery since they were 1 year old. My eldest is now 3 1/2 years old and the youngest is 20 months. They are very happy and enjoy going there. I like the outdoor spaces they have for the children to explore, especially the safe outdoor space for the young
baby group. The location is very convenient for me as it's very near to my work. As a part-timer, the opening and closing time allows me to fit as many hours within my working days so it's a bonus. The only negative point I can think of is that there were times I felt there weren't enough staff for the number of children for certain periods, but I didn't feel worried much. Last but not least, the people are very friendly and lovely. So I would definitely recommend the place to anyone.

I would highly recommend this nursery to friends and family. The manager is extremely proficient and very professional. When I looked round she instilled a lot of confidence and the purpose built nursery was friendly and welcoming. My son started in the toddler room 5 months ago and settled very quickly
which is a reflection of the hard work and effort the team put in. He has grown immensely in his confidence since starting nursery and clearly enjoys himself. He was transitioned into the rising 3's room recently which was done in a way which minimised any anxieties that he and I had. He again settled very quickly and is enjoying learning new skills and undertaking new activities every day. The outside space is great and the children are encouraged to play outside and freely move from outside space to inside as they wish. I have nothing but praise for the teams and manager.

Both my daughter and son have been at Fulbourn Day Nursery and Preschool over the last three years and both have been very happy there.
The carers are helpful, warm and genuine people, and take a real interest in the children. We have found it to be a safe environment and also conducive to early learning
activities. The facilities are clean and modern with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for the kids. Overall it has been a very good experience for us and the kids.

My daughter has been going to Fulbourn Day Nursery and Preschool for 9 months. She started in the baby room and has successfully transitioned to the toddler room.
From day 1, the staff have been kind and courteous and take a genuine interest in my child and her development. There is a lot of interaction
between the staff and children, with singing, being creative and playing games.
The management is great, there are regular updates with newsletters and menus sent every week. The menus are varied for both lunch and tea time. A book that records activities performed during the day, including photos (learning storybook) is available to view, so you can see what your child has been doing, which is fantastic.
When there are infections going around nursery (i.e. Chicken pox etc) there are notices to inform parents and guidance on what to do.
The facilities are outstanding, big rooms, clean and lots of open space outside to play. I highly recommend the nursery.

My daughter has been going to Bright Horizons for 8 months and I couldn’t rate this nursery highly enough. From day one we have felt as part of the ‘family’ and I have never once been worried about leaving her there. The staff in the baby room were kind and caring and she developed a real bond with
her key worker.
Since moving to the toddler room, she has been treated with the same care and attention and has settled in without even one tear which is credit to all of the staff who have gone out of their way to make her feel welcome and secure.
Each room is large and clean with lots of new toys and equipment, the outside space is fantastic and the children are encouraged to flow freely between the inside and outside spaces.
The management are super helpful and effective, they know every child by name and welcome them each morning with a smile and phrases like ‘thank you for sharing her with us today’ when you leave which really adds to the family feel.

My son has attended the setting from 8 months old and has loved every minute! He is now in the toddler room at 19 months old and thrives from all the fantastic activities the staff deliver. My son will now wave to me in the mornings and will happily go to any staff member in the room showing he has
good relationships with them all. When I pick my son up I know he has had a fantastic day from the smile on his face. The nursery is spacious and modern and the garden space is perfect as that's where my son would prefer to be! He has developed so well and I put that down to him attending this setting. Highly recommend to anyone looking to put their child in a fun, safe and caring environment.

Our son has been going to the nursery for the last 2.5 years and we have been very happy with the service. We chose the nursery as the staff are friendly and seem to genuinely care for the children. They take an active interest in our son's development and make constructive suggestions to help with
any issues. There are good outside spaces, which my son really enjoys, especially the sand. They occasionally go on little trips around the business park which my son also enjoys. They hold events during the year where the families can meet.

Overall this is a great nursery. It is spacious, clean, and the internal atmosphere is very encouraging and pleasant. There are plenty of learning tools/toys in the Toddlers room and my little one always seems to have had a lot of fun. I can tell she is definitely learning as her vocabulary increased
a great deal once she was settled into Toddlers.
There have been moments when I have felt certain members of staff could benefit from being more approachable or helpful, but having raised my concerns with the nursery manager I felt fully assured that the necessary steps will be taken/people will be spoken too. However, having said that, all other staff members are very caring and nurturing. My little one has formed some really nice relationships with her carers and that is always a nice thing when you are leaving your child in someone else's care. I would say the manager is very efficient, approachable, knowledgeable and informative. She does a great job of managing a busy nursery.

We have been very pleased with Fulbourn Day Nursery. The resources, facilities and outdoor space are the best we have seen in Cambridge, the staff are friendly and caring and our children love the time they spend at the nursery. Any questions or changes we have requested have been responded to quickly
and helpfully. The nursery is well managed, highly organised and the manager has everything well under control. We have enjoyed the additional events talks and seminars that have been put on. We feel well updated on the children's progress and their learning stories are kept well up to date. Overall we have been very pleased with the nursery and our children love it!

Overall the nursery is a good standard. If there is one improvement, I would suggest it would be the interaction and communication between staff and parents. Some staff seem reluctant or not confident to talk to parents, this seems more obvious with younger staff.

I have been employed with Bright Horizons since February 2016. I hold a level 5 qualification in leadership and management within the early years.


I have been based at the Fulbourn Nursery and been promoted from Nursery Nurse to Room Leader then Deputy Manager and now I am proud to be the Manager of the Fulbourn Nursery. I enjoy leading the team to provide a safe and stimulating environment.

Jen has been part of the Bright Horizons family since February 2020, initially in the preschool room before transitioning to the role of room leader in the baby room. Progressing steadily, she assumed the position of Third in Charge in September 2022, eventually being promoted to her current role as deputy manager in September 2023.


Outside of work, Jen finds joy in family moments, particularly cherishing time spent with her grandson and leisurely walks with her dog.
