Outstanding nursery: staff are all caring, kind and attentive; they know the children individually and tailor activities to foster their personal growth and development; fantastic meals the kids love; the nursery is always clean and well kept (even if clearly a busy play day!); always clear communication from management - prompt replies to queries, proactively inform parents when changes are required and plan well in advance for these (eg end of year room moves). Their communication and handling during the COVID19 pandemic was outstanding - kept the continuity of staff despite reduced numbers; always clear communication; caring and mindful of how all the changes would affect the kids.
We've been with Edwinstowe nursery for the last 5 years (both my daughter and my son have attended it) and I can't praise it more. It's a small nursery with a family feel and a very friendly caring staff.
Our daughter started when she was seven months. We chose the nursery because the babies room was so calm and welcoming. Our daughter loves it here and I love the fact that she is comfortable there and seems to know everyone and everyone knows her by her name. The staff are caring and welcoming. I know that my daughter is well cared for while I am at work which was important to me as I worried about going back to work and leaving her. There is good engagement with parents and management are good at listening and responding to feedback and answering questions. I hope our daughter will stay here through to preschool as it is a warm, welcoming, nurturing and engaging environment for children. Thoroughly deserving of its outstanding rating.
My Son loves the nursery, he enjoys all of the great opportunities provided and is learning so much. When I collect him the staff feedback to me all of the things he has done, he is very well-loved and cared for.
My son has attended this nursery since he was 8 months old. The nursery was just refurbished and the rooms were clean and very well decorated. The staff are professional, loving and caring. The management team works hard to provide excellent service. I have no negative comments. They really deserve their 'outstanding' rate. My son couldn't wait to go to nursery every morning and I have peace of mind all day knowing he was in good hands. He is a wonderful 3.5-year-old boy now and I know the nursery contributed largely to that.
Because of the small amount of children, she gets a lot of one to one time with her key worker, who uses my daughter's interests to further her development.
We're really pleased with the nursery. Our daughter loves her carers and friends and we feel confident and happy in our choice.
Wonderful nursery with great facilities, lovely food, exciting toys and interactions for the babies. Very engaging staff.
My child started in this nursery at about 9 months of age. We find the staff very cooperative and work together with parents to make the place comfortable for kids. We feel very confident and safe when we leave our son at nursery that he is going to enjoy and have a wonderful day. He is developing well and in every aspect that makes us feel proud looking t him growing and developing skills overall, we are very happy with the decision that we joined Edwinstowe Nursery.
Edwinstowe is an excellent nursery with a fantastic, intimate feel. The staff are highly skilled and truly warm and caring. The facilities are very good with every room having access to a private outdoor space which is used liberally. I have been very happy with the care my daughter has received and recommend the nursery highly.
My daughter has just completed her first month at Edwinstowe. We’re very impressed with all aspects of the nursery: the facilities are wonderful, the food is of extremely high quality and the staff are friendly, caring and responsive. They’ve been particularly wonderful during this initial settling-in period. We are impressed at how the staff keep a log of all the children’s individual likes or favourite things, and find ways to tailor daily activities to best engage them. The nursery was by far our favourite of all the places we looked at in the city, and we were over the moon to have been offered a place here.
Staff are kind and helpful.
Children are happy in the nursery.
The facility is slightly dated but is clean and functions well.
Lots of activities and learning.
Our daughter gets personalised care from a small group of very motivated and friendly people.
Our son is very happy there.
He has an excellent relationship with all the staff especially his key worker.
He loves the wide range of activities from dancing to crafting to make-believe to outdoor play.
I can leave him safe in the knowledge he is entirely happy and safe.
Staff members have been friendly and so informative upon collection.
I have noticed a real difference in my child's vocabulary since he has moved rooms.
My child also has a really varied diet and I am very impressed with the different dishes the children try. Thank you.
We love this nursery.
Everyone is very nice and caring and it is impressive how many activities and games the children are involved in.
I would happily recommend Edwinstowe nursery to everyone.
Very happy with the nutrition and choice of meals offered too.
Our daughter is being extremely well looked after in the Caterpillar room and I am always confident that she is in the best possible hands when I leave for work.
I cannot fault Edwinstowe. The nursery is a joy to visit each day. The staff are outstanding. The fellow parents are warm and friendly, and the children are so polite and loving. The standard of care given to my daughter has been exceptional, since the day she started in Caterpillars, at ten months. I leave my baby each morning happy, knowing that she is being looked after and given so much love, attention and encouragement to progress. My biggest fear is about when she leaves because I doubt many schools will be able to replicate the wonderful, genuinely caring and happy atmosphere. I cannot thank every member of staff enough for their support.
University Nursery at Edwinstowe Close has been fantastic for our child. She is well taken care of, has a great time and learns in the process. The people have been excellent and supportive, giving advice which is appropriate and ensuring excellent level of childcare.

I love how every room has its own garden and its quiet location in natural surroundings, which encourages a range of wildlife, despite being close to the city centre.
How passionate they are in helping the children to reach their full potential, seeing how much fun they have in teaching the children every day, resulting in the children being excited and engaged in their learning.
