Kiddi Caru Burgess Hill, a GrandirUK Day Nursery

The staff at my daughter's nursery are all very friendly and seem to genuinely care about my daughter. Hand over is sufficient and they are quick to tell me of any accidents at occur. The nursery are open to me putting her in for extra days. However one negative is that I get charged for bank holidays even though they are closed which means I'm paying for an extra 8 days a year I'm not getting. The garden recently had a refurb which in my opinion made it worse not better. There's nothing for the kids to do anymore! What's the opal play? Must be changed. The nursery are also always prompt to reply to my emails.

My son is safe and happy and making great progress and good friends. 10/10 would recommend.

My daughter did have a little transitional problem whilst moving to the older class and my husband and I were worried about this. However, the amazing staff noticed this and took the time to reassure us and support us on how to approach this and subsequently, not long after this our daughter was settled and happy again. We really appreciated the genuine care and support from the staff.

We are always impressed with Kiddi Caru. The care and effort they have towards our child and the range of activities they offer to enrich and educate the babies, toddler's and children.

They have really thought about the environment they want to create and this involves lots of natural objects and outdoor areas with different spaces appropriate for each age range.

Our daughter loves being at nursery and has made lots of friends and likes the staff very much!

My daughter has been through pre-school at Kiddi Caru and my son has been through the baby room to the room below pre-school where he's currently at. Our experience has been brilliant with both children. My daughter still asks to come to pick-up so she can see the staff and gives them all hugs. The support the staff (huuge shout out to a particular staff member) gave our daughter was extraordinary - she was on an unusual journey where she could read early and the staff gave her the extra support she needed to encourage her love of books and reading, as well as supporting her with her social skills. My son struggled at first with drop-offs but staff supported him with the transition (another big shout out to Wade here) and he started to look forward to going. The pictures we are sent on the app show him enjoying himself with a wide variety of activities and with friends and at the end of the day it's SO nice to see all the staff genuinely in good spirits playing and chatting with the children.

All staff at the nursery are friendly, approachable and care for the children. I have children in different rooms and both children love attending nursery, they come home to tell us about what they have been doing. My older child moved to this nursery when he was 3, prior to this at his old nursery he cried everyday going in and disliked going, we experienced the total opposite with Kiddie Caru which to me tells me all we need to know.

Their food is cooked onsite by a great kitchen team, can't fault the food.

When I brought this to the attention of the nursery manager, I was disheartened to receive no apology.

I’ve advised the nursery of some free training which would benefit staff caring for my child, but I’m unsure if this has been taken forward.

My child has settled into her new room, with her new key worker and staff members. I appreciate the detailed learning and the topics that are touched on in the room, including learning about artists, as well as the environment and the world around them.

He has now moved to the next room and we will miss seeing the team in Geese terribly, but we feel confident he will enjoy this next phase on his journey at nursery. Thank you to all the team at Kiddi Caru.

That said, I’ve been in contact with the regional manager who has outlined steps being taken to improve this so I feel confident that this is being addressed.

I have rated my experience with the nursery as 'good' because I feel there are areas of improvement, like care and staff management, which seems to be a big issue since my daughter started nursery last year. I am sure this is not a day-to-day care staff issue but more likely a managerial one, which hopefully will be sorted out soon. Despite these, my daughter settled well once started nursery, with great support and affection from the care staff, easing the whole process. My daughter is always happy and keen to join her friends and teachers at nursery, and we can see constant changes in her learning and social abilities since joining the team.

Our son has been at Kiddi Caru Day Nursery since September 2022. We have watched our boy go from a nervous and shy eleven month old into an outgoing, happy toddler. There have been times where he has been unsettled moving through the rooms, but these issues have been handled professionally by the manager and the team with a positive attitude always putting our son first and looking at how he can have the best experience during his time at Kiddi Caru. Photos, videos and updates we are given show him happy, enjoying his time with the biggest smile on his face. He is so excited each day we say he is going to nursery and he loves all the team who look after him. Any nerves we have had about him going to nursery have been eased and we feel confident he will continue to thrive over the years before he goes to school.

The nursery is good and the staff I interact with are all friendly and competent but it seems like for months and months and months now they’ve struggled with staffing levels and continual staff attrition. There must be an issue at the core of the nursery for this many staff to be leaving (salary, working conditions, staff morale, who knows?). It is hard for young children to deal with constant change, they need stability at his age more than any. The pressure on the remaining staff makes it feel like they don’t have time to do their job properly. The updates on the tapestry are now few and far between, and contributions to events such as world book day seem minimal. The pressure as a parent to be contacted every week begging to not send their child in due to staff shortages is waring. Once a permanent staffing resolution is found I’m sure the nursery will be good again.

She’s learnt to eat a varied menu despite being in a fussy eating stage when she joined and takes part in a diverse set of activities. We particularly like how she gets outdoors frequently.

All of the staff involved with my son go above and beyond for him. He has global development delay and sensory issues. They have been very supportive, finding out what his needs are and adapting to them. My son has progressed a lot since being there and I can not rate the staff enough.

My son has been at Kiddi Caru Burgess Hill since he was 9 months old and he is now 3. He has had a few challenges with his speech and the staff have been instrumental in helping him develop this and get up to speed with his peers. He always has a great time at nursery. My highest compliment though must go to the manager she has always been incredibly responsive and accommodating, especially with my husband and I working jobs where we are regularly on call. She has always managed to find a space in nursery if we need to send our son for an extra day and is always so pleasant to speak to and willing to help wherever she can.

It’s not a staff issue but more a higher-management issue, and I actually feel sorry for the day-to-day staff of Kiddi-Karu.
