A Step Ahead is a fantastic nursery! We have three children and due to home moves and some nurseries only accepting older children, our children have between them attended five nurseries and this is easily the best. The staff are kind, friendly, helpful and really take time to get to know the children.
Our daughter has never cried going to A Step Ahead, instead has open arms reaching for her key person, who is wonderful. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

My daughter started attending A Step Ahead very shortly after we moved to Horsham. Despite her going to a different nursery prior to us moving, I felt she had never 100% settled there so I was a bit nervous about how things were going to go at A Step Ahead. It turned out I needn't have been! The staff
were absolutely lovely in making her feel welcome and within a week she was walking in with the biggest smile on her face. Her teachers were great not only at identifying what things she was already good at and what areas she needs a little help in, but also at giving her that extra bit of support in order for her to build up her confidence and be willing to try new things. I was very pleased with the activities organised there and with the large garden - one of the reasons we opted for A Step Ahead. I feel like the staff did a great job at preparing her for school and I look forward to my son starting there in a few months!

My child started at A Step Ahead in June. I felt very unsure about not been able to settle her in and be with her or she got used to her surroundings. But A Step Ahead made me feel totally at ease, she settled in no problem, all the girls were really lovely and made me feel like no question was a silly
question. She had come on leaps and bounds and has thrived over the last few months.
The nursery is lovely and I am so glad I made the choice to pick A Step Ahead.

We have just returned to A Step Ahead in Lower Beeding and I am so pleased we chose to come back to this nursery. The staff are smiling as soon as you walk in, and take such an interest in your child. My daughter has had little contact with anyone else since March but is opening up to the lovely staff
in the Caterpillar room already. My younger daughter is due to join when I return to work in January, and I have no worries about leaving her there. I would definitely recommend this establishment to other parents. It is set in a lovely location too!

Our son has been attending this nursery full time for the last two months and looks like he has lots of fun every single day! The staff are very good at communicating on a daily basis. My view so far is that they have great communication, great activities, lovely, smiling staff, bank holidays are not
charged and there is a discount scheme for 4 and 5 days per week, plenty of parking for pick up and drop off. However, in nearly two months our son had two accidents (one of which ended with a very noticeable bruise on his face triggering some subsequent unpleasant experiences) and some of his items of clothing have gone missing.

I have two girls and this is the first time I’ve ever left one of them in full-time nursery care. Well thank God I found A Step Ahead, my daughter has always been well cared for and well-fed with freshly cooked warm meals. Even last year when she became very poorly whilst at nursery, the staff looked

I have been picking up my goddaughter since she started at A Step Ahead Nursery in February 2020. From day one, the staff checked passwords and security and it felt very safe, a good start to inspire confidence. The shift lead of the youngest group was very warm and welcoming and took me through the
day of my goddaughter. As a newbie, I knew none of this routine and the staff explained very clearly. I even received a report sheet to take back to her mum and dad. We're now in October 2020 and I can see the development and intelligence of this young girl just growing daily. The exposure to a social, friendly, safe and fun environment has certainly helped. The staff here are so kind, caring and really know how to look after the children. It also takes good leadership to run the business, so a collective effort from all at A Step Ahead is certainly recognised. My goddaughter is happy and full of smiles at this nursery. I would not hesitate to recommend to others seeking a nursery.

My daughter has been at A Step Ahead Nursery since she was 1. The staff have always been friendly, professional and supportive. Particularly in the last 6 months when there have been so many restrictions in place. I have always felt confident that the children are being well looked after, within a safe

I would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone considering bringing their child here. My daughter really enjoys her days there and is happy to be handed over to the amazing staff that she is very fond of. The app is great and I love the picture updates and insight into what she gets up to when

My two grandchildren have attended this nursery, one currently and I cannot praise the staff and management enough. My daughter attended A Step Ahead Nursery from 9 months old until leaving for school. She always looked forward to going and had such incredible experiences. What really stood out for me is that the staff noticed all the little quirks my daughter had and the specific words she used which demonstrated
they really spent time with her one to one. I’m so pleased with the development she had during her time there, although she now loves school. We miss the nursery and she still talks about it now.

My 21-month-old daughter attends A Step Ahead nursery in Lower Bedding and she absolutely loves going. She has various food intolerances and I was so impressed with the way the nursery dealt with this and with the fabulous food they make for her, taking these into account. Their enthusiasm for looking
after children is exceptional and the activities my young daughter does are great, creative and constantly change. The way they have dealt with the covid-19 situation has also been very good, extremely thoughtful to both the parents and children alike with the dropping off/picking up process running smoothly from the start. A fabulous nursery where my daughter is very happy and eats a great variety of freshly cooked food.

I was so pleased when I found out my grandson was going to A Step Ahead Nursery, as I had heard excellent comments from other parents and grandparents. He started there two years ago and is now in his final year in the Caterpillar room. From the very first day of him starting, all the staff were friendly,
engaging and reassuring which is very important. The staff are passionate about their role in what is a very important stage in my grandson's life. Over these two years, his confidence has grown and he especially loves being outside and playing with water. When I pick him up, he talks about his day and what new things he has learnt - a new story, song or dance and many more things. The nursery has excellent facilities both indoors and outdoors. Not to be forgotten, my grandson loves the meals and often has seconds or thirds as there is a fantastic chef with excellent creative ideas for small children. I have recommended this nursery to friends.

I can't praise the nursery enough. My son has so much fun there and has started to make his first friends! They take time to support his needs rather than just offering a standard approach. This has included taking the time to meet with us and discuss what will aid his development. All the staff are

My daughter has been attending A Step Ahead in Lower Beeding since she was just 3 months old. She is now a year-and-a-half and absolutely loves going in every day - she’s always happy to see the staff and gives a big smile in the mornings, we’ve never had any tears. Even after having a couple of months
off after the lockdown, she was still more than happy to be back at nursery. The staff are always friendly and well organised, especially at pick up - which is very refreshing compared to other nurseries I have used before. Would definitely recommend.

My son has been attending A Step Ahead in Lower Beeding for just over a year. We have literally seen with our own eyes how well he has developed over this year in terms of his language, motor skills and manners. He loves the social aspect and close contact that the key workers give him and we know that
he is being well-fed and well looked after. The staff are attentive and treat each child as an individual, getting to know them on a personal level and being able to identify when things aren't quite right or if anything is worth informing us about. My wife and I love the updates to ParentZone where we can see our son having fun each and every time he visits. He also sleeps very well after his days at the nursery so they certainly keep him busy and entertained. During the lockdown, the communication from the nursery was first class and I think we all missed meeting the staff and seeing our son off happy and picking him up equally happy. We really love this nursery and so does our son.

The staff are so enthusiastic when dropping off or picking up - you know your child is going to have a fabulous day, no matter what the weather is doing. It feels very much like a family member you're handing them over to and nothing is too much for any of them and we always get good feedback on the
day's events. I love the fact the nursery use the outside play area for the children to explore and grow and understand all around them. My daughter is always full of beans on nursery day and can't wait to get in and start her day. We are kept up to date with the goings-on and current measures in place through email and also in the past, various workshops which, as new parents at the time, helped understand what the goals for our child were. I can't thank everyone enough and we've already booked our second child's place in early 2021.

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 number of registered child places is 10.8, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
