Lower Beeding Day Nursery & Pre-school

My girls started A Step Ahead nursery in June this year - originally due to start in April however the national lockdown stopped that. Because of this they were unable to do the traditional settling in sessions which didn't bother them at all. All the staff there were so welcoming and caring and the girls settled straight in, which made it so much easier for my husband and I also. They only need a few settling sessions and then started 2 full days a week. Since then they have come along leaps and bounds and that is down to the fantastic care that they get from everyone there! They love going to nursery and seeing all their friends and come home every evening and tell me all the fun they have been having.

A fabulous nursery with wonderful caregivers. My daughter has been attending since 10 months old. As a first-time mum, I was nervous about leaving her care to someone else but I need not have worried. She thrives in the fun, stimulating environment, loves the activities, food and staff. They have been respectful to my wishes from the start and the end of day communication and online photos (sharing all she has done) has been excellent. I am sure she is happier seeing them in the morning then when I come to pick her up. As a parent, I feel confident and happy that she is well cared for and would highly recommend.

On occasion, I think my son would much rather be there - even at the weekend!

My son is excited to go to A Step Ahead on his nursery days. He is always greeted with enthusiasm and warmth from the fantastic team and he comes out smiling and talks about the fun activities he’s participated in during his day. My eldest son also went to A Step Ahead and had a positive experience during his time there. I have recommended the nursery several times.

Both of my girls have attended the nursery. My eldest started at 1 and attended until starting school this year. My youngest was just 8 months when she started. I cannot recommend this setting enough. The facilities are lovely, small enough to make it a home from home environment but large enough to ensure all the children have space and a variety of activities to get involved with. However, it is the staff that really make it here. There hasn't been a single member past or present that hasn't helped to make my daughter's experiences great ones. Management are always available no matter how big or small your question. The growth both of them have experienced since starting has been massive. What a great nursery!

My two daughters currently attend A Step Ahead and my little boy attended before he started school. We have been so impressed from the start. The team bonded and got to know our children so quickly. They all adore going and come back to tell us how exciting their day has been. I really get a sense that the staff care so much about my children and feel so happy they are in their care, learning loads and having a ball! Thank you every one!

I enrolled my son at A Step Ahead in 2018 after a horrendous first year at a nursery in a different setting. They were welcoming, kind, warm and myself and my partner were instantly at ease leaving him. He had the most wonderful time at A Step Ahead, he came along leaps and bounds! We love the nursery and its staff so much our daughter is currently still with them! She comes home excited to show me all the lovely things they have created with her! She has a great connection with all the staff and loves their wonderful home-cooked meals! The teachers have been nominated for teacher of the year awards! The management team really are incredible! Friendly, easy to talk to and always have time to help! They are active in children’s play and learning! They know each and every child and always have a smile for them every morning! With their guidance, the nursery has achieved outstanding Ofsted reports 3 years running! There is no safer, happier place I would leave my children!

My son and daughter have both attended a A Step Ahead for a combined total of 4 years. During that time they both received fantastic care and attention. All the staff are friendly and there is a huge effort made to develop the children with play based learning. Both my children hugely benefited from being in their care and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

A Step Ahead Lower Beeding is a wonderful nursery. My girls joined late having moved from London and they quickly settled in, made friends and love their time at nursery. This is all down to the amazing staff who are brilliant with the kids. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

When I asked my son what he liked best about nursery he said ‘doing dancing raisins, little nut brown (a song, I get taught lots of nursery songs when I collect him!) and riding the red bike’. I’m very happy we chose A Step Ahead.

We’ve been delighted with A Step Ahead. My son started aged 9 months and has just started school. They know him inside out, have supported him through all his milestones and got him ready for school. The days he’s at nursery mean I can focus on work knowing they’re looking after him. I’m looking forward to my daughter starting there shortly.

A Step Ahead are such a fantastic nursery, my daughter has felt so comfortable there from the very beginning. The staff are so caring and attentive and she always comes home in such a great mood from nursery.

A Step Ahead (Horsham) have excelled themselves once again with their cohesive return plan post lockdown. Communication to the parents was regular and detailed, and the information to help settle the children back in was thoughtful and delivered confidence that our children would be ok. Steps were taken to provide a safe environment, but one that also allowed the children to continue their development. In a very difficult period, the nursery staff have once again wrapped their arms around their families, and lead us through as they always do. I have always been amazed by their energy, passion and enthusiasm but at this time they were particularly impressive. To me, dropping my children to them is like leaving them with a family member. My daughter is always challenged mentally and physically by the programme of learning - she would not be the bright, imaginative, chatty little person she is without the input from the staff, right across the setting.

My daughter has been attending A Step Ahead in (Horsham) since she was 10 months old and is now 3 and attends two days per week. She has always loved going to nursery and the staff are like family members to her. She learns so many new things whilst there and always looks forward to going and seeing her friends. There is a spacious outdoor area and lots of activities to really help little ones grow their independence and get them ready for school. I have also always found the nursery to be very accommodating with booking in extra days and accepting the government funding. Thoroughly recommend.

I shed a few tears when I drove away from A Step Ahead for the last time after 5 years. My two sons adored their time there and the wonderful staff were hugely important people in their lives. My eldest started at 2 years old and his independence and social skills grew stronger within a very short space of time. He developed such a strong bond with the staff and would sit for hours chatting with them. My youngest started at 9 months old, and I didn’t hesitate to leave him in their care as we had such a good relationship with the staff. He absolutely loved his time at nursery and felt so secure in their care. His love for his nursery and his carers was demonstrated when lockdown hit and he asked every day for 6 weeks whether it was a nursery day! He has developed into the most sociable, talkative 4-year old I know, and I know that his experience at A Step Ahead played a big part on this. Thank you!

A Step Ahead Nursery are simply outstanding! I've had both my children there full time and they have been amazing. From tailoring a menu specifically for our children to cooking things from scratch, providing a variety of wholesome meals to excellent engaging experiences for the children that stretch and develop them. I cannot recommend them enough. To top it off they are Ofsted outstanding for the last few assessments. The manager is a true leader, fantastic at her job and the staff are fabulous. Highly recommend!

My son started at A Step Ahead just before lockdown, we were mid moving house and I was heavily pregnant with my second child. The nursery were simply fantastic with helping us with settles for my son and were so understanding with our chaotic move to the area. He started a week before lockdown then had to resettle in again from July. The staff and team at this nursery are wonderful. My son has now turned 3 and moved up to the Preschool class and is loving his days at the nursery. Again the transition to the older class was seamless and they managed all the settles perfectly for us. The nursery has kept us up to date the whole way through COVID and we have felt very happy and I trust my child is safe with all the measures they have out in place. This is a lovely village nursery run by caring staff and in a beautiful setting. The lovely big oak tree in the garden provides plenty of shade where all the kids can play safely outside, perfect during COVID. Would absolutely recommend.
