Young Sussex Nursery (Hove) offers family-run care and prides itself in providing flexible childcare in a stimulating, loving and friendly environment.

The children benefit from a range of resources and activities including music groups, weekly yoga, nature club and cooking classes, while the nursery also features interconnecting free-flow rooms and several spacious outdoor play areas.

Care is available term-time or full-time. With half day, school day and full day options as well as session swaps and the opportunity to book extra sessions, parents welcome Young Sussex's flexible childcare.

It received the 2018 and 2020 Award: Top 20 Nursery Group Award for ‘Most Recommended Small Nursery Groups' in the UK.

Free Early Learning Funding available for three- and four-year-olds (15 hours universal and 30 hours if eligible) as well as eligible two-year-olds (15 hours).

Our daughter started at Young Sussex from the age of three, so during the difficult period of lockdown. She's now ready to go to school in September. It's given her a foundation, socially in mixing with other children and being able to be seated with the kids and learn things with lots of play.
Her
nursery leader and the team always had something different to do to stimulate the kids and would get them outdoors as much as the weather allowed (or not!). There were always new ideas for things the kids can do, and of course, friends to make, learning to interact with them and share and play together.
She has enjoyed her time, and it's given her a foundation making her ready to go to school in September.

Young Sussex is an amazing nursery! My daughter started there when she was two, and she is off to reception in September. Every single staff member is professional and caring, and the management team are very efficient! My daughter has speech and language difficulties, and the nursery has done so much
to help her develop; she has come along so much in every way not just her speech. Even throughout Covid, they did so well to quickly adapt to restrictions. I can't recommend Young Sussex enough! Thank you for everything you have done for my little one!

Both my son and daughter have been through Young Sussex, and the staff and management are the same since we joined in 2018, which is a great sign. They have seen my children from baby to school age, which has created lovely relationships.
The staff are fantastic, and they always do different activities
with the children. Lovely food and snacks and there is a lovely feeling in each of the rooms. My children have made lots of friends through Young Sussex and have been very happy there.
The office is very quick to respond and has always been flexible and understanding with our freelance jobs and needing to swap sessions. Would definitely recommend this nursery, and I have looked at quite a few in the local area.

Both my boys go to Young Sussex (Ladybirds & Bumblebees) and love it. The staff are so lovely and caring. The management are also so great at being accommodating to changes. Overall we would highly recommend it.

Both my daughters started this September at Young Sussex. My 2-year-old struggled in the beginning due to COViD and not really attending any baby groups or similar settings. However, the staff at Young Sussex were so lovely and patient; they’ve helped her settle really nicely, and she loves going now.
She loves all the staff there and talks a lot about them. My one-year-old smiles the minute we walk through the gate! I highly recommend; they take amazing care of the children and communicate verbally at pick up, which is lovely. All their staff are lovely and very welcoming.

Our son has recently graduated from Young Sussex Hove, having joined the nursery originally when he was 11-months-old. We can't praise the nursery or its' staff enough. Our son blossomed under their care and has sailed into primary with no issues whatsoever. The care and attention he received were second
to none, and the bonds established with his teachers will stay with him for a long time. The pre-school, in particular, is exemplary and ensures that even younger children are more than ready to transition to primary school. We have been nothing but pleased with Young Sussex, and the fact that we have also chosen to send our second child there, despite now not living especially close, says it all. Would highly recommend this nursery to all!

My son started here in the toddlers' room after the abrupt closure of his previous nursery. He was only in this room a few months before lockdown but settled well and enjoyed it. Most of his time was spent in the pre-school room and what a wonderful job they did helping him grow into the confident little
man who just joined school! The amazing staff did a fantastic job - even during the stop-start of lockdown, giving our family a sense of normality when everything else was crazy! The activities arranged were varied, the staff fun and caring and my son thoroughly enjoyed his time here. I would highly recommend it.

My little one is attending here since last year and she'll finish in 2 weeks time now, to start the big school! We don't have enough words to explain how much she liked the time she spent at Young Sussex and how comfortable and secure we were too. They helped her in so many different steps and the communication
between nursery and us was amazing! The only thing we regret is we didn't start bringing her here before. The exceptional people, ambient, help. Absolutely everything is perfect and I don't hesitate to recommend it, it's a shame they don't have school too!

We have been so impressed with the staff at Young Sussex. They have given our little boy a wonderful start in education. They are kind and caring and build great relationships with the children. It has been impressive to see how proactive they are in supporting children. The communication on a daily
basis is superb, along with a regularly updated learning journey. Activities, from what we saw, are well planned and fun with some really wonderful experiences. I must also add that the office staff are really helpful and communicate very well. I have never waited long for a reply to my queries. All in all, we can't imagine a better preschool experience for our little boy.

I have been really impressed with the warm welcome my daughter has received since starting at Young Sussex Nursery. She has settled really quickly and enjoys her time at Nursery. Staff are caring, friendly and professional. The observations of her learning and development, show me that she is receiving
a wonderful broad range of learning opportunities and she always comes home with lots of stories about the fun she has had with her new friends. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Nursery to others and am really happy that we chose to send my daughter to Young Sussex.

My daughter has settled in really quickly and loves playing with everything at nursery. The staff are all lovely and you can tell by their eyes they are all smiling under their masks.
The additional COVID-19 related restrictions make some aspects of nursery life a little more tricky. For example,
not being able to properly go into the nursery at drop off and pick up and not seeing the other children’s names above pegs so not being able to ask about them (she only remembers one friend’s name). But considering all the challenges the staff have had to overcome these are very small details.

Both my sons attended Young Sussex Nursery (Hove) and have been cared for impeccably. Management have been so flexible, understanding, caring and kind that I can't rate them highly enough. Nothing is too much trouble, they make me feel welcome and have shown even through lockdown, that they serve the
needs of the children first. The staff are clearly well supported, happy and there is a palpable calm, caring and welcoming atmosphere. Young Sussex Nursery really is a 'home from home', underpinned by the in-depth knowledge and skills demonstrated by all the staff who have cared for my two. I've been kept up to date via the app with comments, pictures and in-depth reports showing the nursery’s commitment to helping the children progress. Communication is excellent and I feel part of the Young Sussex family. My boys have really bonded with their key workers and other staff. We are sad to leave and it will be an extremely hard transition for all of us, but especially for them.

We now have three children attending Young Sussex and it has become an essential part of our family setup. Communication between nursery and home is clear and consistent. The whole team, from teachers to office staff are professional, friendly and cheerful, even though I imagine all the anxieties of
the last year have weighed heavily on them too. Our two youngest started in the middle of the pandemic, yet have settled in really well and for that, we have the care and spirit of the team to thank. Our oldest, in the pre-school room, loves the opportunity to socialise with her friends and do an array of fun activities when lots of other options have recently been off the table. We recommend Young Sussex to everyone we know and are grateful it has been an anchor of joy and stability in a tough time.

Both our children go to this nursery and we are extremely pleased with how well they are looked after, all the activities they do (which they don’t do at home) and how much they like the staff, who are very experienced. Our nearly 3-year-old girl often tells us at the weekend she would rather go to
nursery.

Our daughter has just left Young Sussex to go to school. She has had a fantastic four years there and was well cared for throughout by all of the staff that she came into contact with. We were all really sad to leave!

This nursery is fantastic. We sent both of our children here and they loved it. They were both extremely well cared for. Whenever you asked the staff for help it was never any trouble - they were all so helpful and kind! I believe they generally loved our kids and cared! The meals were great! Pick up
and drop off was always easy. The place itself is SO very clean. Highly, highly recommend!

This nursery has just been amazing for all three of my children. After visiting and searching throughout the area, this one just rated massively above all the others.
We moved out of the area, but I still travel back as my children have just been welcomed so warmly and the staff cannot do enough for
them, such amazing individual care, the staff are like an extended family and my children have always been so excited to go and complain the days they don't have a nursery! They have great extras including yoga and music, and I really feel like my children have all received such love and individual attention from every member of staff here; I really can't express how much of a relief it is knowing my children are so well cared for. They always come back having done a million things I would never do at home (normally because of the mess!) and each child has progressed hugely with their coordination, confidence and education in all areas. Just outstanding.

Our son moved here after attending two other settings - neither of which he enjoyed and it was a cause for concern to us.
He has loved it here since the moment he arrived, the staff have all been excellent, he has so much fun and the opportunity to make brilliant friendships for school. You have brought
out the boy we have at home which hadn’t happened before at nursery.
You have created a really fun environment for the children, where they have independence, but also safety and comfort from caring adults. He also loves the food, which was a breakthrough for us.
I cannot thank you enough, and we would like to send his little sister in a few months time.

Both our daughters are now attending Young Sussex Hove. One just about to leave and one who has just started before the Covid-19 crisis. We have always been impressed by the level of care our daughters receive at Young Sussex and I believe they have gone above and beyond in this crisis. They have kept
us up to date following every major government briefing to make sure that they continue to provide good service but also trying to be flexible for all parents/children’s needs.
I strongly recommend this nursery based on its flexibility, fantastic, personable staff and diligent management. Yes, the facilities could be slightly more updated but the value is in the care and opportunities our daughters receive daily. Thank you all at Young Sussex Hove!

My little boy has loved his time at Young Sussex, the staff are so friendly, welcoming and caring towards both parents and children. Activities are engaging and exciting for the children, my little boy comes home talking about his day with such enthusiasm. I am sad we are having to leave such a nurturing
place, taking my son to Young Sussex made the upset of leaving him so much easier. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they have done for us.
