Young Sussex Nursery (Hove)

Our twins attended Young Sussex for three years, from when they were 18 months old until when they started school last week. I cannot rate this nursery highly enough. The quality of care provided is excellent, with staff well trained, caring, nurturing and highly professional. I have been amazed at the range of activities provided (yoga, music, forest school type activities, growing chicks, butterflies and froglets, as well as outside visits from zoolab and the fire brigade), and at the dedication of the staff in ensuring a rich and stimulating nursery experience. Our children thoroughly enjoyed their time at Young Sussex and have been looking forward to going back to visit! The ability to do session swaps has been very useful, so we have rarely had to pay for extra sessions. The food is healthy, with our children eating things they would refuse at home. The use of Tapestry as an online learning journal enables parents to upload pictures and comments from home.

Our daughter is very happy at Young Sussex. She has been attending for about a year now. The staff are all great and we love the collaborative way they work with us to support our daughter in whatever she is up to. We are thrilled we chose Young Sussex.

My son has been at Young Sussex since he was 1 (he is now turning 4), as was his older brother. The experience we have had at the nursery has been excellent. The boys have and are developing into confident, sociable individuals which have been strongly driven by the nursery and its staff.

Both boys have also learned lots and the support and learning my older son got has really helped with his start in school. They have both formed really strong friendships with the other children during their time at Young Sussex. It has been a great nursery for development and learning.

I am really pleased we have chosen this nursery. The staff are simply brilliant and my daughter, 15 months, is very happy to be left here. The team know her very well and she is content and is happy. I am kept up to date on everything relating to her. A great place for her to learn and grow.

Young Sussex Nursery Hove was the first nursery we viewed and we decided straight away that we wanted our daughter to come here every day. The atmosphere is great and the staff are extremely friendly and approachable and they really cared for the children. Our daughter absolutely loves coming here and she gets excited when we walk through the gate. Thank you to everyone at Young Sussex for 2 fantastic years at the nursery.

Our daughter loves coming to Young Sussex Nursery, Bumble Bees. The staff clearly care a lot about all of the children. The activities are really varied and lots of fun. The management are great and very helpful and flexible.

Friendly nursery with a focus on children having lots of fun whilst learning new things. I was amazed when the whole class sung a Spanish Christmas song - and they were so proud of themselves. Such a nurturing environment.

We've been really happy with the nursery. My son enjoys coming in and seems to be making good progress in terms of shape, colour, number etc. We're loving tapestry too. He has formed lovely friendships too. The staff have been fantastic in both rooms, very helpful and armed with an anecdote at the end of the day which helps us to understand how his day has been. It always seems like the staff know the children really well.

My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed her time at Young Sussex. The practitioners have always been lovely and I have always been confident that she has been well cared for. The activities are great and I feel that she is well prepared for starting school in September. Thank you.

Our son attended Young Sussex from just after he was one year old until he left to go to school this September 2017. We were consistently pleased with the level of care and the activities he did there. He particularly enjoyed many of the nature-based activities such as growing seeds, watching butterflies hatch and grow, and making a bug hotel. He also enjoyed learning about shapes, colours, the human body and constructing games. The input and care from his key worker was brilliant and he had a real rapport with both her and the other nursery workers, who showed genuine enthusiasm and enjoyment looking after the children. It was also great to get updates about how he was getting on, what he had done that day, how well he had eaten, etc. We really appreciated this and we felt we had a real knowledge of what he was doing during his time there. This was supplemented by photos, videos and comments on the online photo report system. We would definitely recommend Young Sussex as a great nursery.

My daughter has had a wonderful time at Young Sussex Hove. They take the time to make sure they get to know the children to ensure that they are happy and settled in the nursery environment. The facilities are great and it has been lovely to see the flowers and vegetables grow in the outside area and how much they include the children in looking after them. If I have ever had an issue they have worked with me to resolve it and ensure my daughter is continuously happy.

The staff are all so friendly and work with the parents to make the nursery experience memorable. The Christmas event and parties they hold really go beyond what you would expect and is why Young Sussex is a nursery I would recommend to any of my friends.

As we are moving house with huge regret we had to move our son from nursery too. We all will miss this fantastic place. Our son join it when he was just over one. He is now 2.5 y.o. he loved this place, stuff and already get to have few close friends. He is very happy and confident boy where at Young Sussex this was always nourished and helped him to build it up even stronger. He loves space and possibility to explore and discover new things which nursery had lots of opportunities to do so. As he is bilingual it was very well supported. Our son loves nursery meals especially pasta often he would ask for seconds or even thirds which he refuses to eat at home. My words cant describe what a marvelous place it is Young Sussex in Aldrington.
