Young Sussex Nursery (Hove)

We recently moved our daughter to Young Sussex after moving back to the area. It's been a fantastic decision to send her here and we're delighted with how she's settled. The staff are professional, kind and caring with our daughter taking an immediate liking to them. We love how much they go outside and the group seem very tight.Very happy with the decision!

I'm thrilled with the sense of family environment and care we feel at Young Sussex. My toddler has been thriving and so enjoys going in to nursery in the mornings. She sometimes doesn't even bother waving goodbye as she is so excited to get in to the room with her friends. The communication has been fantastic and I truly feel like I have been included in all aspects of her development since she started. Thank you to the Ladybug team!

Both of my children went to Young Sussex and thrived in their care. The staff are professional, kind, creative and supportive. My children learnt so much, and as parents we felt very confident that they were safe and cared for. I fully recommend the nursery and cannot thank them enough for their role in my children's development.

I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful nursery and the incredible impact they had on my son during his time there from age 1 to 4.

The team genuinely invested in his development, building his confidence day by day and ensuring he had all the skills and knowledge he needed to be completely school-ready. There is a wide variety of toys, activities, fun dress up days, nature club, messy play, soft play, dancing, singing etc.

When his first day of school arrived, he skipped through the gates without looking back, excited and prepared for this new chapter. The staff gave him a genuinely positive first experience of education that has set the foundation for his love of learning. We feel so fortunate to have found such an exceptional nursery and couldn't recommend them more highly to other families.

Our son started at Young Sussex Hove in Easter 2025, and being only 7 months we were worried he would find being in nursery overwhelming. We chose Young Sussex because of the lovely garden space for the young children, the happy and caring staff, and the term time option. Two staff members and the other team members really put our minds at ease when our son had his settling in sessions. Our son really loves being at YS and is always happy when we drop off and pick up. The staff listen to our concerns and are very happy to adjust to our son's needs. We are really happy that he is at YS and recommend it to other parents.

Our twins joined Young Sussex Nursery just after their first birthday and have had a brilliant experience so far. The girls absolutely love being there and it sounds like they have a huge variety of activities throughout the day. The staff are extremely welcoming and knowledgeable, in both the nursery itself and the office. As a parent, we love the flexibility Young Sussex offers, being able to sign up for term time and part time, whilst also having the option to swap and extend sessions as and when is brilliant. We feel confident that our children are well cared for and would highly recommend YS to anyone!

Our son joined Young Sussex Nursery at the end of last year, and we have been extremely happy with the support, care, and consistency that the nursery has provided in helping him settle in. After looking around the many nurseries in the area, we settled for YS due to it's smaller size, great outdoor space, and most importantly, the longevity of the staff members. We feel a real sense of community here, and our son's key worker and other staff members always have the time to provide feedback on his day at nursery, along with his overall development. They offer a nice mix of activities throughout the day, from outdoors play, climbing, and messy play, to reading, singing and art. We are kept up-to-date throughout the day on nappy changes, nap time and longevity, and what our son has eaten, along with photos to show the activities he's been engaging in. This is so important for us, and reminds us that our son is being well looked after.

Our son joined the nursery 2 months ago and he absolutely loves it. The care and time taken to make sure he was settled in ok was amazing and meant to much to us as a family. The staff go out of their way to be friendly and make sure all the children have so much fun, care and attention. Such a lovely nursery couldn't recommend it enough.

We sent our two children here - our son from 2018 and our daughter from 2021. Both were quite young when they started (about 7 months old) and stayed right through until starting school. We started at Young Sussex as it was round the corner from our house but stayed with them even after we moved further away. YS was great for our kids. They made some great friends and really developed over their time there. I really appreciated the way that the teachers always took time to give clear feedback on their day. We regularly received positive and developmental feedback. In particular I'd call out two staff members in particular for the care and attention they gave our kids. Strongly recommended.

The team were great at helping my daughter get settled in after she moved setting aged three. She's been very happy at Yooung Sussex, and we've been really pleased with her development over the past months as the team has helped her get ready for school. We really rate her keyworker and all the other carers in the room. The managers are always friendly and helpful, and the setting as a whole has a family feel - I get the impression they all like and support each other and work well as a team, which is great. My younger child also attends the nursery now and has been well supported as he has settled in. Children are appreciated and cared for as individuals. Definitely recommend the nursery.

My daughter has had a lovely few years being cared for by the team at Young Sussex. She is always excited to go and see what new activities she will be doing each day. We would like to thank all the team for the support and fun we have had. A very positive experience. Kind regards.

Our daughter attended Young Sussex this past year for two mornings a week. She has thoroughly enjoyed her time there and will miss everyone, although she will hopefully be continuing her friendships outside of nursery. The staff are always so friendly and caring and often give us feedback on her day. Her key person in particular is a credit to the nursery and has made us feel very comfortable about her development. Would wholeheartedly recommend Young Sussex!

Our son went to Young Sussex Nursery Hove just after the age of 1 and was cared for and nurtured through the different rooms to ensure he was happy and supported throughout. The staff at the nursery all provided a personal touch which we really liked. We also enjoyed getting daily updates and photos via the app so we felt really involved in what they were doing. The staff provide so much support and provide great activities which can often get the whole family involved. Being able to swap days to non-nursery days (such as being on holiday) meant you weren’t wasting money which was a lovely touch. We only left due to moving out of Hove and definitely miss all there!

My son joined this nursery in October 2020 (age 18 months) and our experience so far has been pretty good. My son loves going to the nursery, enjoys his time there and comes back happy every day. He has learnt so much while at the nursery including speaking his first words and his communication has developed so much after going to this nursery. The staff at the nursery is very communicative, open and provides as much information as possible during the handovers. I am especially impressed with the management of the nursery with communications and flexibility. It's good to know that our son is in safe hands at this nursery and makes us very reassured and confident about his time there. Definitely recommend it to parents of young kids. Thank you.

Three staff members are great room leaders and appreciate all their guidance and care for my son. He starts school in September and we will massively miss this team. Thank you.

Our two-and-a-half-year-old daughter moved from another nursery to be closer to the local school. We have been so impressed with the induction process, communication via the app regarding food and activities, the range of daily activities and things to do and the wonderful staff in general. She is so happy and asks to go on her non-nursery days. In terms of practical things, they offer flexibility in hours with early starts that coincide with the local school's breakfast clubs. We have been so happy with our experiences and would 100% recommend it.

My 11-month-old son started at Young Sussex two weeks ago and I have been so pleased with how well he's settled. The staff have gone above and beyond to make sure he's comforted and he's had lots of cuddles whilst he finds his feet. When I collect him he's smiling and gives big smiles at all the staff as we leave. He's very comfortable in the space and has been napping brilliantly. I've been so encouraged by how well he's got into the swing of things. The staff are so caring and considerate and you get a really thorough update on collection and throughout the day. The children in the room all seem happy and content and it's a lovely atmosphere. I can't recommend Young Sussex highly enough. Management have been really supportive, welcoming and straightforward to deal with which is wonderful. They've taken a lot of the stress out of this new transition for us as a family.
