Bluebell Hill Children's Nursery is a day nursery in a lovely old converted house close to the centre of Eastbourne offering warm, friendly and stimulating childcare, either full-time or part-time.

The nursery has bright and well-equipped rooms, full of things to keep your child happy and stimulated. There are lovely walled mature gardens where children can enjoy lots of outdoor play and exploration, especially in the nature area where they can look for bugs, birds and plants.

The nursery and gardens are completely enclosed and security is paramount. Located in a quiet residential road just off St Anthony’s Avenue in Eastbourne, it is close to Sovereign Harbour, Langney and Hampden Park and easily accessible from the town centre.

  • 2025 FEES - Children aged 0 – 5 years: £340.00 per week / Day full (8 am–6 pm) £76.00 per day / Session morning (8 am-1 pm) £49.00 per session / Session afternoon (1 pm-6 pm) £49.00 per session.

  • Parents can book their child in to attend from 7:30 am up to 6:30 pm. These are charged at £8.00 per half-hour or part-half-hour.


    Terms of Payment (please see our Terms and Conditions).
    A non-refundable fee of £25 is payable on registration, along with an £80 refundable deposit for securing a place. Fees are charged on a monthly basis. Fees are payable monthly in advance, by standing order or BACS by the last day of the preceding month or by cheque by the 24th of the preceding month.
    The nursery closes at 1 pm Christmas Eve, for the period between Christmas and New Year and on bank holidays. No charge is made during scheduled nursery closures.

My daughter was born at the beginning of lockdown 2020, she was very shy and quiet and very nervous when she started nursery but within a month she has completely gained confidence, she’s chatting all the time. We see how much she’s developed and how she’s bonded by being around other children a similar
age. The workers at the nursery are all so lovely and they all seem very excited and happy to see the staff when she goes to start the day. We never got the opportunity to visit Bluebell Hill before applying for nursery but word of mouth really encouraged us to choose this nursery and I’m glad we did.

My little girl started nursery this month which I was really apprehensive about due to her being such a clingy/sensitive child. Staff have been absolutely wonderful from the start and even though my daughter is still not fully settled in, I know soon she will eventually love it and knowing she is in
great hands means I can actually relax at work! Always receive a thorough update at the end and also the app is really handy. Would love to receive more photos in the future if possible however completely appreciate you have your hands full. Wonderful nursery, thank you.

Such a lovely atmosphere with kind and helpful staff! They have made us feel so welcome into nursery life and helped my daughter settle in well! Great nutritional food on offer and staff have been really supportive of potty training bringing in home routines.

I was very apprehensive about sending my daughter back to nursery after the first lockdown because my daughter took quite a while to settle into nursery just before lockdown! I had very clingy to mummy child. I was pleasantly surprised at how well she just got back into the routine! My daughter loves
coming to nursery and especially loves all the girls that work there, who have helped my daughter settle in so well, including the ones that are not even in her room, they all know her by her name as she is a bit of a character haha! The activities are endless, they have a lovely garden which they use all year round and the kids love it. All the staff are friendly and really helpful. I love the app that means you can check in on your child’s daily activities, food intake, nappy changes etc and on top of that, you can call any time to just see how they are getting on, which for me (first time over worrying mum ha) is brilliant! My daughter is loving her nursery journey because of the guys at Bluebell Hill Children's Nursery!

My daughter started coming to Bluebell Hill in June 2019 at 10 months old for one day a week. We have been so happy with every aspect of her nursery journey so far. All staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and fantastic with the children. Even members of staff who are not in my daughter's room know her
name.
I was apprehensive about the return after the first lockdown, but everyone was so reassuring and listened to my concerns, nothing is too much trouble. My daughter happily walks in and really enjoys her days!
They do so many activities with the children and I love receiving the updates throughout the day via the app.

My son has only been here 2 months but loves it here. His key worker noted all his likes/dislikes to songs and things he enjoys doing when home to help him settle in. They do such a variety of activities with the children and help them gain new skills and form friendships with the other children. It’s
a lovely nursery and it’s a bonus that they provide all nappies, food, suncream throughout the sessions as it one less thing to worry about.

Bluebell Hill Children's Nursery is such a fantastic nursery. My daughter absolutely loves seeing all the staff and is really happy when I drop off and collect her. My daughter has been attending Bluebell Hill since she was nine months old and has experienced all of the age grouped rooms. My son only attended the setting for a very short period of time, only a few weeks due to the coronavirus and lockdown, but enjoyed his time when he was there. Lots of room to explore and thoroughly enjoyed the variety of food and outside space/equipment.

My little boy loves coming to nursery on a Friday, even though he only does a half a day every week, the staff and his lovely key worker are always so excited to see him and vice versa. He loves it and is reluctant to leave when it’s home time as he has so much fun.

My daughter has been attending Bluebell since she was 5 months and will leave when she is 4 years old. I have been so pleased with the nursery, the staff are great and my daughter always comes home with a smile and looks forward to returning. She will be very sad to leave when she starts school. This nursery has been fantastic with my son. I get updates and pictures via parent zone which really puts me at ease. They never mind me calling up to check on him. He always seems happy when he is there and has made loads of friends. Would recommend to anyone.

My kids both attended this nursery and always have something positive to say when they talk about the nursery nurses and the time they spend at nursery. They started attending the nursery when they were 1 (twins) and now they are 3 going to 4 and starting school this year. They have learnt a lot at
nursery and have made great friends there. Not even 1 day have I heard them say anything bad and they are so vocal and would say it as it is at this stage. Thank you Bluebell Hill Children's Nursery it takes a community to raise a child and thank you for helping me raise my babies.

Bluebell Hill Children's Nursery has been a great nursery for my child over the past 2 years. He was very shy and reserved when he first started. The care givers are always very attentive and always make him feel safe and welcome.

From the moment I walked into Bluebell Hill, myself and my son who was 10 months loved it. The homely feel and the friendly staff were amazing from day 1. He's now going to school in September and I could not fault the girls who have encouraged my son with every aspect of life. Thank you everyone.

Sam Leeves

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2021

I have worked with children for the last 6 years and have been at Bluebell Hill for nearly 4 years now. I started as relief staff whilst completing my degree in early years education, and have since enjoyed progressing in my career and constantly building on my knowledge of the early years. I love being able to teach and inspire children every day, and mentoring staff in giving children the best possible experiences whilst at nursery.


I am also the nursery SENDco and am passionate about ensuring inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, working closely with families and children to ensure every child gets the best possible outcomes from their time with us!


In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, walking my two dogs and going to the gym!

Harriet is our fantastic Operations Manager. Harriet has over 16 years of experience working in the Early Years. Harriet joined the Bluebell family as the Nursery Manager of Bluebell Wood and now as the Operations Manager, Harriet oversees the running of all three of our fabulous nurseries.
