Bluebell Hill Children's Nursery is a day nursery in a lovely old converted house close to the centre of Eastbourne offering warm, friendly and stimulating childcare, either full-time or part-time.

The nursery has bright and well-equipped rooms, full of things to keep your child happy and stimulated. There are lovely walled mature gardens where children can enjoy lots of outdoor play and exploration, especially in the nature area where they can look for bugs, birds and plants.

The nursery and gardens are completely enclosed and security is paramount. Located in a quiet residential road just off St Anthony’s Avenue in Eastbourne, it is close to Sovereign Harbour, Langney and Hampden Park and easily accessible from the town centre.

  • 2025 FEES - Children aged 0 – 5 years: £340.00 per week / Day full (8 am–6 pm) £76.00 per day / Session morning (8 am-1 pm) £49.00 per session / Session afternoon (1 pm-6 pm) £49.00 per session.

  • Parents can book their child in to attend from 7:30 am up to 6:30 pm. These are charged at £8.00 per half-hour or part-half-hour.


    Terms of Payment (please see our Terms and Conditions).
    A non-refundable fee of £25 is payable on registration, along with an £80 refundable deposit for securing a place. Fees are charged on a monthly basis. Fees are payable monthly in advance, by standing order or BACS by the last day of the preceding month or by cheque by the 24th of the preceding month.
    The nursery closes at 1 pm Christmas Eve, for the period between Christmas and New Year and on bank holidays. No charge is made during scheduled nursery closures.

Bluebell Hill is an outstanding provider of childcare in my opinion. They go above and beyond in their care, communication and consideration towards your child. My son arrived as a nervous toddler. The patience, kindness and understanding he has been shown has led to his development into a confident,
cheeky and very chatty little boy! Taking care of a room full of little ones is an exhausting job and each practitioner gives their energy, time and compassion every day. They report bumps or accidents professionally, they give a breakdown of your little one’s day upon collection, which always includes details that demonstrate they really ‘see’ your child as an individual. They do their best to make sure each child is well-fed, rested and stimulated throughout the day. There are always a variety of learning activities available and the outdoor areas are so well utilised. Bluebell Hill really is a lovely space and you feel the positive energy as soon as you arrive.

We moved our child here from another nursery due to her needing a little more support - this was the best decision we ever made.
Bluebell Hill Nursery are extremely kind and attentive. We have seen our child absolutely flourish in the short time she has been at Bluebell Hill and her previous issues
have lessened hugely thanks to the patience and skills of the staff here.
Bluebell Hill is has a lovely environment that is calm and inviting for the children. There is lots of variety in the activities they do, including a beach visit once in a while!
My daughter loves it here and I highly recommend this nursery.

The staff are good, they inform me every time about my son's day at the nursery. I like that they have a lot of fun activities for the children. And my son is very happy going to nursery. He likes his teachers and he has a lovely bond with them.

My son started Bluebell Hill when he was 11 months old this February and is in Tiny Turtles. He is our first child and I was anxious to leave him for the first time. I can honestly say I had nothing to be anxious about, he settled in so well and we have genuinely been so happy with his time at Bluebell
so far.
The way the staff care for my son is something I can only have ever wished for when putting him in nursery. You can tell that the staff genuinely care about him and this is more than just a job for them.
My son has a dairy allergy, and the nursery has been so accommodating with this, they have very clear and strict guidelines.
I genuinely could not recommend a nursery enough, knowing that he is safe, happy and cared for just the same as he is at home is all we could have asked for.

My son started at Bluebell Hill last year following a long-distance move and right from his taster hour, the staff were brilliant at welcoming him and encouraging him to make friends and join in activities. He started school with confidence and the skills he needed thanks to the starfish team.
His
younger sister is still in seahorses and is excited to run in each morning, shouting out the names of all her friends and the staff. She is treated with such love and does so many wonderful, messy activities.
Highly recommend!

I was originally let down by a local nursery and at short notice had to find somewhere else for my son to go. Bluebell Hill Children's Nursery were quick to help and within 24 hours his place was secured and my mind was at ease. My son has always been really happy at Bluebell Hill, right from settling
in sessions to now, he always comes home with a smile on his face. The staff are always smiling, patient, welcoming and there to talk about development or any concerns. Almost every day we receive pictures and development updates via the app which is lovely to see whilst at work. They also do all they can to support the families as well as the children. Very happy and highly recommend!

My little girl has been going to Bluebell Hill Children's Nursery since she was 1 year old and she absolutely loves it. It is such an amazing nursery, all the staff are so friendly, caring and brilliant with her too she is always happy going into nursery. The activities are brilliant with so much choice
and they are now doing beach days too. Myself and my husband can't thank the nursery and staff for everything they do for her. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nursery, definitely the best nursery.

My son absolutely loves this nursery and the staff. He never cries going in but is always so happy to see me when I collect him. He loves their outdoor space as well as the indoor space. He loves the food they provide, and they are really supportive of the formula you give at home by going out of the
way to make sure they have it for him at nursery. I would recommend this nursery to anyone! The reason I have chosen four stars is that my son does two full days, but I am lucky to have an observation about what he has been up to every other week. He has had six observations in the 14 weeks of being there. I know a lot of other nurseries do a minimum of one a week, so was a bit disappointed about this.

As I'm sure other parents can agree, sending your children to nursery for the first time is a very daunting and worrying period of parenthood. Personally, I put myself down as a worrier, doubled by sending both my children within two months of each other, I was anxious, to say the least. Within weeks
of my girls joining, the worry all faded away. The staff at Bluebell Hill are some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I have grown to form great relationships with staff in the baby room and also the preschool room, not forgetting the office staff. The care and passion the staff members show when caring for our children is every parents' dream. The premises are always tidy and well taken care of. The food is of high quality and the activities you can tell have had heart and soul put in when preparing/organising. I have two very happy girls after their sessions. What more could I ask for?

My son was 1 year and 9 months when he started at Bluebell Hill in October for just two and half days a week, I was worried as I never had him away from me for more than 2 hours, but he got to love the nursery so quick, and now he is going in with a big smile. The staff are so friendly, helpful and
caring, and my boy loves them so much. I get updates throughout the day to see how is he doing, what he is eating, and info about his nappy changes and sleep. He is usually quite shy, but I can definitely see the difference in his personality and even trying to say words, also he has learned quite a few dances. I cannot recommend this nursery enough and I'm so grateful we have chosen Bluebell Hill.

My daughter has just started at Bluebell Hill after attending another local setting for one year. I had a great feeling when I viewed the nursery initially and the application process and settling-in sessions have been straightforward. All the staff are lovely and my daughter has settled so well so
quickly! I love how I can see updates throughout her session about food intake, toileting and sleep etc. I really couldn't fault them and I'm so glad I went with Bluebell Hill to care for my baby. Thank you, ladies.

My daughter started at Bluebell a few months ago and quickly adjusted to the children and teachers, considering she came from a nursery where she was already well adjusted.
Sounds like a fun place; at least that's what my daughter makes of Bluebell.

My daughter started Bluebell Hill 3 months ago and her little personality has really come out since being there. She is always so happy to go in the morning and absolutely loves her key worker. My son absolutely loves going to nursery. All the staff are very kind and helpful. The food variety of meals and snacks is fantastic. I love the app they use that I can check when I'm at work. There are some occasions when this isn't always up to date. I would love to see some more regular pictures
as well, although I appreciate there perhaps isn't always time to do this, it makes me so happy when I can see pictures of what my boy has been up to that day.

I started as relief staff whilst completing my degree in early years education, and have since enjoyed progressing in my career and constantly building on my knowledge of the early years. I love being able to teach and inspire children every day, and mentoring staff in giving children the best possible experiences whilst at nursery.


I am also the nursery SENDco and am passionate about ensuring inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, working closely with families and children to ensure every child gets the best possible outcomes from their time with us!


In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, walking my two dogs and going to the gym!

Chloe is our amazing Deputy Manager at Bluebell Hill. Chloe has worked in childcare for 8 years, gaining lots of experience with all ages. Chloe joined the Bluebell team in 2021 and is an asset to our management team.

Harriet is our fantastic Operations Manager. Harriet has over 16 years of experience working in the Early Years. Harriet joined the Bluebell family as the Nursery Manager of Bluebell Wood and now as the Operations Manager, Harriet oversees the running of all three of our fabulous nurseries.
