Bright Horizons Guildford Boxgrove is a welcoming day nursery and preschool in Guildford and supports children’s development from the age of three months to five years.

The nursery has great links to public transport and is only a 5-minute drive to Guildford town centre and London Road (Guildford) Station.

The team at the nursery understands it can be an adjustment to settle into nursery life, for both adults and children.

This is why the nursery offers up to eight weeks of settling-in sessions. These sessions give everyone an opportunity to be properly welcomed into the Bright Horizons family and allow the team to get to know every family.

With all-inclusive fees, meaning less to pack on a busy morning, the onsite meals are prepared with nutrition in mind. From healthy lunches and snacks to chosen branded nappies and wipes included in the fees.

To give children the energy they need to grow, experiment in the science lab and create in the art room, Bright Horizons provide them with delicious and nutritious meals every day.

These are prepared within the nursery by its own in-house chef using fresh ingredients.

The nursery has been awarded an Ofsted rating of ‘good’ for its commitment to high quality childcare and education (February 2019).

This is an absolutely fantastic preschool nursery. The children are always 100% safe with great safeguarding procedures and the staff are so friendly and caring towards the kids. Very attentive! My daughters have had so much fun here and the activities are amazing. Management is second to none!

My son has attended Boxgrove since he was 14 months old. He has just turned 4 and will be attending reception in September. Words cannot express how great his time here has been. The staff have always been engaging, patient and a joy to be around.

My daughter loved her time at Boxgrove preschool and has made lots of friends. She's loved doing all the fun activities, Spanish and sports. The preschool team have been so lovely with her, especially two certain members of staff who she loves, and her key person when she joined!

Overall, the nurser4y has been a lovely, welcoming, happy experience for my daughter. She loves the teachers in her room and you can see how fond they are of her also. Yoga and sports are a great addition to the day to day as well as Spanish! I think the class could do with more teachers and it's a
shame the new break out areas are so rarely used.

After looking at a few nurseries, we quickly realised that it was all about the vibes. And the vibes of Boxgrove are happy, lovely and, above all, caring. The staff are so good and hands-on with the children. And the management have been super-accommodating of last-minute changes of plan due to the
general chaos of family life. Our daughter has loved every minute here and it has been such an important factor in her childhood. She is always joyful and skipping when I pick her up in the evenings which means so much more than any Ofsted rating!

Our daughter has been coming to nursery for 3 years and has just graduated from preschool. Over the years she has enjoyed coming and transitions between rooms have been great. She has got some great bonds with the staff and will be sad to leave. As parents, we have been very happy with the care she's
received. We had a period of suspected allergies and management and staff and the chef made sure her needs were catered for. Thank you! We will miss coming.

Our daughter has been at Bright Horizons Guildford Boxgrove for a year now (started aged 1) and we are really happy we chose this nursery for her. The team are really thoughtful, caring and supportive of her, creating a happy and fun environment that she really loves. They are approachable and helpful,
keeping us up to date with her progress and always have time to talk to us at pick up and drop off. Specifically, I have found their experience and suggestions on how to manage our daughter's changing behaviour as she transitions from a baby to a confident 2 year old really useful and supportive. We appreciate the team giving her opportunities to do activities in the break out rooms to build her confidence in new areas and with different team members as well as opportunities to flex her creativity and gain variety in her week. We also love the fact that the Puddleducks room has immediate access to outside allowing lots of fresh air in all weathers.

My son started at Boxgrove aged 11 months old. The staff have been very kind and caring and have ensured that he has settled really well. He had some settling in days which were crucial to enable a smooth transition for him.

All the staff are friendly and report back thoroughly on the kind of day
he has had. They have made him feel very welcome.

I find the staff very receptive to any questions I have about my baby’s routine and they implement any changes I request effectively and efficiently. They are also effective at communicating with me by phone if my son has bumped his head, been sick and if he has soiled his clothes, notes are written on bags to let me know.

I feel that my son is happy and safe at Boxgrove and I feel he enjoys his days.

Overall, I am really happy with how my son has settled and I think the manager and her team have made it very easy for me to go back to work! I would recommend this nursery even after such a short time of knowing the staff.

I definitely recommend Bright Horizons Guildford Boxgrove Day Nursery and Preschool to friends/family because, in my opinion, this is a perfect place for busy parents who want to have peace of mind that during the working hours their children are in good hands. The staff seems to be responsible, works
with parents, listens to suggestions. H&S rules are followed. Children's activities are interesting and apparently, food is good too! (My child's opinion.)

I highly recommend this nursery based on the fantastic people who work there. The manager and deputy are always very welcoming and helpful and the room staff build great bonds with the children. I feel like we have become part of the family since having two children in the nursery.
My children are
very happy there and that’s a huge weight off my mind because I’m a full time working mum with a huge amount of guilt!

Starfish is a very welcoming nursery. The recent renovations which were handled very considerately, have given it a necessary boost and it feels much more spacious, modern and fresh.
The staff are friendly and personable. The food is varied and popular.
The extra activities eg Spanish, yoga are fantastic
and lay great foundations for future interest.

It's such a nice feeling in the morning when we can drop off our two-year-old son at nursery and he confidently goes off happily with the carers in Tigerfish.
This is due to their hard work and caring attitude towards the children. We have been highly impressed with the nursery since day one and this
standard hasn't dropped over the last nine months we have been here.
All the staff are so open and welcoming.
Our son really enjoys his time at nursery and has created a special bond with lots of the team.

Clare

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 1999

Clare has been passionate about working with children since 1999 when her own four children were in school. She began her journey in education as a teaching assistant, midday supervisor, and after-school playworker, gaining valuable experience in supporting children’s learning and development.


Eager to expand her knowledge, she completed an access to teacher training course in 2005, alongside earning her GCSEs in biology and English. She went on to achieve a foundation degree in early childhood studies in 2009, followed by a BA (Hons) in early childhood studies in 2010.


After spending time working in a local school, she joined a nursery as a nursery nurse in the toddler room. Her love for early years education and commitment to nurturing young children quickly led to a promotion and in June 2012, she became preschool principal. In this role, she spent nearly two years creating a warm and engaging environment where children could thrive, grow in confidence, and feel ready for their next big step into school.


With years of experience in early childhood education, she is dedicated to making every child’s nursery experience a positive and enriching one, supporting both children and their families along the way.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Amy, also know as Toff, is been a valued member of the Bright Horizons Guildford Boxgrove team since October 2018. When she first joined, she had no experience in early years education, but with the support of the wonderful team, she quickly discovered her passion. This led her to complete her Level 3 Early Years Education qualification through Bright Horizons.


As she gained experience, Amy progressed to Room Leader, a role she truly loved. She enjoyed caring for the children, supporting families, and working closely with her colleagues. During this time, she also took on the role of Nursery SENCO, a position she is incredibly passionate about. She finds it deeply rewarding to see the growth and progress of the children receiving SEND support.


In August 2024, Amy became Deputy Nursery Manager, a role that allows her to work with all age groups, support the staff team and build strong relationships with families. She is dedicated to ensuring every child receives the best possible care and is always happy to support parents and carers throughout their nursery journey.
