Pennypot Day Nursery, located in Chobham and part of the Childbase Partnership group of nurseries, is registered to offer admission to 116 children whose parents can then enjoy the peace of mind of leaving their child with qualified professionals and in an environment excellent for creativity and learning. They have also obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools Award at distinction level.

Pennypot hold the extracurricular activity of 'Melody Movements' every Friday morning.

Staff look to respect the opinions and concerns of parents at all times, with a friendly service that does not compromise on the high standards of security, health and hygiene that the Childbase Partnership has always prided itself on.

I have nothing but praise for Pennypot nursery. My daughter began when she was one year old and has attended for two and a half years now. Her development has been very pleasing and her care has been exemplary - always thoughtful and with the best interests of the child at the forefront of nursery practitioners'
minds. Through the early stages of toddlerhood to the bright, active pre-schooler, she now is, my daughter has always enjoyed attending nursery and talks of her friends and carers fondly. Times, when separation from me was a bit difficult, were always sensitivity managed. The learning activities are well-planned, varied and appropriately challenging for her age and stage. The nursery practitioners have also supported us as first- time parents! We will be sad to say goodbye to Pennypot next summer.

I could not recommend Pennypot Day Nursery (Chobham) enough. The care and attention my little boy receives is outstanding. They provide amazing, stimulating activities from painting, spaghetti play and gloop to spending time in the garden and exploring the outdoors. He receives amazing care and attention
from his keyworker as well as the other carers in his room. You can tell my son has had an amazing day at nursery as he is always full of smiles on collection.

My daughter has been at Pennypot for 8 weeks now and she is loving it. She had only ever been apart from me for a couple of hours a handful of times so adjusting to nursery was very difficult and unsettling for both of us but the staff were absolutely fantastic. I got regular updates throughout the
day and my daughter was cuddled and fussed constantly.
She now loves her time at nursery and waves me goodbye quite happily.
The change in her has been incredible and she is learning so much every day. The girls in her room are absolutely fantastic and I trust them 100% with my precious girl.

Our son loves going to Pennypot Nursery. He really enjoys the Caterpillar room and all the activities the children undertake every day. Every day at nursery is different, he spends lots of time with his main carer who he's become very close to. I really feel that she knows him very well which allows
her to care for his individual needs. This makes me very confident that he is in outstanding care there. He also gets on well with all the other carers and every single one of them is so lovely. They all genuinely care for the children and make them feel so welcome. I love the fact that the children spend time outside in the garden. Personally, I think there is a great balance between indoor and outdoor play. What's also great at Pennypot Nursery is the focus on the children's education and development. Our son has learnt so much in the last couple of months and is progressing very well. I'm excited every day when I pick him up to see what new skills he has developed. I highly recommend it!

Our son loves the preschool room and is excited about telling us the new things he learned. I especially like the structure and thought that's gone into the preschool program and I'm sure that he'll arrive at school full of confidence as a result.

My daughter's time at Pennypot will soon come to an end. Both my children have been through so after 5 very happy years it is the end of an era. They loved it from day one and have both flourished here. The staff are excellent - friendly and loving and all seem to know all the children regardless
of the rooms they're in. It is a light and airy purpose built nursery with excellent outdoor spaces which the children use in all weathers (appropriately dressed of course!). They have enjoyed visits from a mobile farm, eggs hatching into chicks in an incubator, and watching tadpoles change into frogs. Thanks to Pennypot my daughter is about to start school knowing the 1st 3 phases of her phonics and reading simple one syllable words - she hasn't been pushed but because she has shown an interest and a willingness to do it she has been helped and encouraged and time has been spent with her on it. This is clearly a happy and well run nursery - 11 out of 10 Pennypot, we will miss you all dearly!

Pennypot Nursery was a last-minute viewing, as I had experienced a change of heart with the nursery I had initially registered my child with. The staff were friendly and welcoming from day one, even changing the little ones nappy on his first visit! The staff are always great to chat to and were very
sensitive to my child's needs in the first few weeks as he would get very upset watching other parents collect their children, so they created another play area for him so he would not notice as much!
My child has been at Pennypot for 7 months now and has simply blossomed into a mini-adult! The staff seem very content and positive at Pennypot which I believe does filter down to the children who in turn, seem very content and stimulated. My child has come such a long way from the 1 year old that was placed at Pennypot in December 2015 and I have the most brilliant staff at Pennypot to thank, for creating an amazing environment for children to flourish in.

My three year old son attends this nursery and we have found all aspects of his care excellent. All of the staff are very committed and the activities and care are very well planned. We have been very happy with our son's progress at Pennypot.

This nursery in Chobham is an excellent example of how nurseries should be run in the UK.
The staff are caring, supportive and work at the individual level of each child. The nursery is laid out excellently with appropriate facilities and play areas for different age groups. Children's progress is
monitored daily and recorded.
Parents can access information and progress reports easily and are always consulted on issues as may arise. I have seen and experienced all the work of the nursery as described above and can only commend the high quality and standard of work.

My daughter is 17 months old and has been attending Pennypot full time from the age of 11 months. We couldn't be happier with the care she has received. All the staff are excellent; caring, helpful, professional and always friendly. My daughter has settled in so well and she genuinely loves going to
nursery, she even says "yay" as we turn in the drive in the mornings! All the staff take an interest in each and every child, even the management team are always telling me stories of seeing her during the day and what she was doing as I walk through reception. She has had two incredible key workers who have fostered a very special bond with her and made leaving her every day that little bit easier. I strongly believe she is developing as well as she is due to the special learning environment the staff foster and the love and sense of security they give her.

We have two children at Pennypots full time and we could not be happier with the standard of care. From day one we have found the nursery and all the staff to be incredibly warm, professional and accommodating.


Our eldest son has progressed really well with all aspects of his development and learning,

he has made some brilliant friends and is incredibly well mannered thanks to Pennypots. He looks forward to going every day and is disappointed it is closed at weekends! Our youngest son enjoys all the messy play and painting but most of all eating all the lovely food!!! The children are taught how to behave during play and mealtimes as well as how to listen and treat others.


I would have no hesitation in recommending Pennypots to any prospective parent.

From the management team, the senco, my children's key worker to the rest of the staff Pennypot Day Nursery has given us everything and more, we could wish for in a nursery. I have 2 children at Pennypot Day Nursery on with additional needs and they continue to go above and beyond for him (and my other
child). The team are professional, yet caring, approachable at all times and always have the time to talk things through. I cannot talk highly of them enough so much so I have (and will continue to) recommend them to friends/acquaintances. I hope everyone there know how valued they are by us especially.

Fabulous nursery, professional staff who truly love what they do. My son found it hard to adjust at first but with dedicated members of staff he now adores going to Penny Pot. They gave him time to adjust with lots of one on one attention showing an interest in particular things he liked and calmed
him down, even collecting balloons from reception on occasion as he adores them. He has truly bonded with his main carer who ensures his needs are met and goes above and beyond to keep him happy and have a fab day every time he attends nursery.

My boy started his Pennypot life in last September when he was 2 year old. As he had just moved from China to a completely different environment I was quite concerned about if the transition period could be smooth enough to avoid any emotional and psychological negative impacts. Now five months passed
everything turned out to be perfect. He is willing to go to nursery every morning, learning lots of living skills, speaking more and more words, etc. Most importantly, the boy has always been happy and healthy.
In Pennypot, everyone child has a smile on face. The teachers are knowledgeable on what they do and they love the children as much as the parents do. This is a place where people care about each other with all the love and dedication.

We started our son at Pennypot Day Nursery mid way through last year. The management team were very helpful and all of the staff made his induction very easy and he settled very quickly. He is very comfortable with the environment and likes the activities and food, the warm, friendly staff instantly
make you feel at ease and safe in the knowledge that your child is in safe hands. Overall we are extremely happy with Pennypot Day Nursery and would recommend it very highly.

My son enjoys nursery and has built a strong relationship with the staff. They are always there to greet him in the mornings with smiles to help him settle. I would happily recommend this nursery to friends. Staff have a great connection with my son. He is very happy here, he loves the outdoor playtime.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2001

Carol is Manager of the award-winning Pennypot Day Nursery in Chobham and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the Early Years sector for 23 years. Carol has numerous qualifications, including a BA(Hons) Degree in Childcare & Education and Early Years Professional Status. In May 2022, Carol celebrates her 21st anniversary at Childbase Partnership.


What is your favourite feature of Pennypot?
I have many especially the large outdoor environment and fantastic rural location, as well as my amazing team.


What are you most proud of about your team?
Their passion and determination to constantly strive to improve outcomes for our children. We also have many long-serving staff members which is amazing.
