They certainly go the extra mile compared to other nurseries we have seen/been to.
I can't fault the care that my son has received whilst at nursery.

A very good, friendly nursery, definitely bring your children here.
I am going to bring my other children here too.
I don't always get a lot of feedback when our key worker isn't there about what my child has done that day.

Our child has been at Pennypot part time for the past 1.5 months in Caterpillars and I can honestly say I think the nursery is wonderful. It's a big thing leaving an 8-month-old with other people all day but I always feel confident our child is in the best care and is having a wonderful time. Our lead carer is brilliant - warm, caring and observant - providing detailed feedback on our child's development and needs.
Choosing a nursery is not a simple task. Leaving your child completely in the hands of what are initially complete strangers is a leap of faith. So when my wife and I looked at nurseries for our little boy we had a strict list of criteria. Would he learn, would he have fun - but most of all, would...
They were patient with our son, they were kind to him. And they made him feel safe and loved. He's gone in and in a matter of a few weeks from a boy who was struggling to have a nap, eat much or take a bottle, to a real part of the nursery, eating, sleeping, drinking and laughing. Lots of laughing.
We can see that he really enjoys being with the Pennypot staff who do exactly what we needed. Make him a priority. But not just our son. Every day the staff courteously greet us, and him of course. They give us an update on his day, taking genuine delight when he has done something new. Thank you Pennypot - Our son loves it with you!

We have been sending our children to Pennypot Nursery for just over three years now. Our first child 'graduated' last summer and she is now thriving in the nursery at her new infant school. We have every confidence that her time at Pennypot prepared her well and gave her a great advantage in the challenges involved when starting at a new school.
We still have two children at Pennypot and continue to be very pleased with the standard of care and education delivered by the staff. The facilities are great - the quiet location and outdoor space are brilliant especially in the warmer months when the children seem to spend all their time playing outside in the fresh air.
Our children have special educational needs too and we feel that those are handled well by the staff and we can see the effort they have gone to in accommodating these needs.
When dropping off the children in the morning, they walk into Pennypot happily and eager to start their day and we feel that says it all!

I have nothing but praise for Pennypot nursery. My daughter began when she was one year old and has attended for two and a half years now. Her development has been very pleasing and her care has been exemplary - always thoughtful and with the best interests of the child at the forefront of nursery practitioners' minds. Through the early stages of toddlerhood to the bright, active pre-schooler, she now is, my daughter has always enjoyed attending nursery and talks of her friends and carers fondly. Times, when separation from me was a bit difficult, were always sensitivity managed. The learning activities are well-planned, varied and appropriately challenging for her age and stage. The nursery practitioners have also supported us as first- time parents! We will be sad to say goodbye to Pennypot next summer.

They provide amazing, stimulating activities from painting, spaghetti play and gloop to spending time in the garden and exploring the outdoors. He receives amazing care and attention from his keyworker as well as the other carers in his room. You can tell my son has had an amazing day at nursery as he is always full of smiles on collection.
My daughter has been at Pennypot for 8 weeks now and she is loving it. She had only ever been apart from me for a couple of hours a handful of times so adjusting to nursery was very difficult and unsettling for both of us but the staff were absolutely fantastic. I got regular updates throughout the...
She now loves her time at nursery and waves me goodbye quite happily.
The change in her has been incredible and she is learning so much every day. The girls in her room are absolutely fantastic and I trust them 100% with my precious girl.

Our son loves going to Pennypot Nursery. He really enjoys the Caterpillar room and all the activities the children undertake every day. Every day at nursery is different, he spends lots of time with his main carer who he's become very close to. I really feel that she knows him very well which allows her to care for his individual needs. This makes me very confident that he is in outstanding care there. He also gets on well with all the other carers and every single one of them is so lovely. They all genuinely care for the children and make them feel so welcome. I love the fact that the children spend time outside in the garden. Personally, I think there is a great balance between indoor and outdoor play. What's also great at Pennypot Nursery is the focus on the children's education and development. Our son has learnt so much in the last couple of months and is progressing very well. I'm excited every day when I pick him up to see what new skills he has developed. I highly recommend it!
Our son loves the preschool room and is excited about telling us the new things he learned. I especially like the structure and thought that's gone into the preschool program and I'm sure that he'll arrive at school full of confidence as a result.

My daughter's time at Pennypot will soon come to an end. Both my children have been through so after 5 very happy years it is the end of an era. They loved it from day one and have both flourished here. The staff are excellent - friendly and loving and all seem to know all the children regardless of the rooms they're in. It is a light and airy purpose built nursery with excellent outdoor spaces which the children use in all weathers (appropriately dressed of course!). They have enjoyed visits from a mobile farm, eggs hatching into chicks in an incubator, and watching tadpoles change into frogs. Thanks to Pennypot my daughter is about to start school knowing the 1st 3 phases of her phonics and reading simple one syllable words - she hasn't been pushed but because she has shown an interest and a willingness to do it she has been helped and encouraged and time has been spent with her on it. This is clearly a happy and well run nursery - 11 out of 10 Pennypot, we will miss you all dearly!
It is the first nursery for my daughter. She has settled very well and seems to be very happy. She has already showed improvement on her manners at the table and speaking and socialising with others.

Pennypot Nursery was a last-minute viewing, as I had experienced a change of heart with the nursery I had initially registered my child with. The staff were friendly and welcoming from day one, even changing the little ones nappy on his first visit! The staff are always great to chat to and were...
My child has been at Pennypot for 7 months now and has simply blossomed into a mini-adult! The staff seem very content and positive at Pennypot which I believe does filter down to the children who in turn, seem very content and stimulated. My child has come such a long way from the 1 year old that was placed at Pennypot in December 2015 and I have the most brilliant staff at Pennypot to thank, for creating an amazing environment for children to flourish in.
My three year old son attends this nursery and we have found all aspects of his care excellent. All of the staff are very committed and the activities and care are very well planned. We have been very happy with our son's progress at Pennypot.

The staff are caring, supportive and work at the individual level of each child. The nursery is laid out excellently with appropriate facilities and play areas for different age groups. Children's progress is monitored daily and recorded.
Parents can access information and progress reports easily and are always consulted on issues as may arise. I have seen and experienced all the work of the nursery as described above and can only commend the high quality and standard of work.
