The wonderful staff at Pennypot made our little one's transition from home to nursery one of fun and comfort, which in turn eased my wife's transition back to work. The settling sessions offered were the perfect amount of time for us all to get to grips with the new routine and the communication during,
and at the end of, each day is brilliant. We especially like seeing the delicious menu offered to our son and hearing what/how much he's eaten.
The learning opportunities in the rooms seem broad and well-targeted at the children's ages and interests and we love seeing the photos of the different activities he enjoys throughout the day.
We are always welcomed by happy, enthusiastic staff every time we drop off/pick up and my son practically jumps into their arms every morning! We feel so lucky to have found such a warm, friendly and caring place to leave our little man and feel safe in the knowledge that his needs are being brilliantly met. Thank you, Manager and team!

We were extremely nervous sending our son to nursery when he was 8.5 months old and leaving him was hard, but it didn't take long for us to realise our son was having the best time at Pennypot and we quickly felt very comfortable. The staff have been fantastic with our son, he adores them so much, he
reaches out for them at drop off! The daily updates on the app are great as we know what he has eaten throughout the day, nappy changes and nap times, we also get occasional photos which is lovely to see. We are very impressed with how attentive the staff are with our son and how well they know him. They always do what they can to cater to our son's needs and what works for him with nap times and specific toys, even when it is different to other children his age group. We have required additional support due to our son's developmental needs and the staff have been so supportive and helpful. We cannot thank them enough! We would highly recommend Pennypot!

We feel very lucky to have our two children at Pennypot Nursery! We have been impressed by the settings of the rooms: very spacious, lots of light and very organised. The staff are very friendly and very helpful, they always greet you with a big smile and both our children enjoy their days at Pennypot!

I would recommend Pennypot Nursery to anyone! Both my son and I adore the nursery and every single member of staff. It has provided the perfect nurturing environment for him to thrive intellectually, socially, emotionally and creatively.
My son struggled to settle when he first joined and I found
it difficult to leave him, but the Pennypot staff showed him so much kindness and patience (with the help of some super fun activities) that soon, we both grew in confidence.
I am so grateful for the work the nursery puts in and how they have set him up for success in the future. Thank you Pennypot!

Our little boy transitioned to Pennypot from another nursery as we moved to the area. Our experience has been fantastic. The staff ensured the transition was as smooth as possible. We were even invited to the annual BBQ prior to joining so we could meet the staff and other parents.
The children have
the ability to self-select activities and spend a lot of time outdoors (weather permitting!)
The quality of the updates, reports, and learning logs is excellent, with us receiving development updates and photos on a weekly basis. We have seen a remarkable improvement in our little boy's development since attending.
The food menu is incredible and I am genuinely amazed as to what our little boy has eaten and how much!
Our key worker is very attentive and provides detailed updates at the end of the day and will always try to accommodate additional requests when appropriate (e.g. adjustment to nap times).
Thank you for all of your support, Pennypot!

Our son has been attending Pennypot for just under a year now and loves every single second he is there. The staff are absolutely brilliant with him and do an amazing job at helping him develop, keeping him safe, and entertaining him with a wide range of toys and activities. We are always kept up to
date on his progress and the team in the caterpillars room really know him well. The fact he will jump from our arms to theirs and wave us off, gives us the confidence that he loves it and is having the best time.

Pennypot Day Nursery is simply exceptional. As a worried new mum returning to work I wondered if I'd be able to find somewhere that we felt truly comfortable with our baby daughter attending, but from the moment I walked through the doors it felt like a second home for her. All of the staff know each
child by name and are always friendly and polite. The staff are genuinely interested in getting to know each individual child which creates a close-knit and loving environment. The communication between staff and parents is completely open and honest, with regular updates via the app throughout the day. If any challenges do arise, the nursery team work with the parents to solve things together. We regard Pennypot as an extension of our daily support network in raising our child, with her key person even providing guidance on getting our child to sleep through the night which was a huge success. I feel lucky to have my child at Pennypot where she is clearly thriving, thank you so much!

Love this nursery. Couldn't recommend Pennypot Day Nursery enough... the staff are all so friendly and all seem to deeply care about all of the children. I was mega nervous about leaving my daughter who was 13 months old however they made it super seamless and put me at ease. My daughter is now very
settled and absolutely loves it! They are always great at sharing how she has been that day and I love the meal updates and seeing the snapshots with her. We currently get monthly development updates and these are super detailed and demonstrates that they are just as focused on her development as we are as her parents.

Pennypot Day Nursery is phenomenal. Considering I am a highly critical person and my job relies on my criticality, I cannot fault a single thing about Pennypot. Every single member of staff is so lovely, warming and welcoming and how they remember the name of every single child is beyond me! Everyone
is incredibly professional and I feel completely safe dropping my child there every day. I love that you get to walk to your child's room to drop them off and pick them up rather than waiting at reception and the daily updates on the app are very helpful. The activities they plan in each class are so helpful for development and they dedicate time daily to practice the skills/tools that each child is learning. As you can tell, I couldn't recommend Pennypot enough!

Our son attended Pennypot from just under a year old all the way through to pre-school. The team at Pennypot were amazing from the start (when we were still under Covid restrictions and social distancing was still in force) all the way through to help prepare our son for a house and pre-school move.
All the staff are warm, welcoming, understanding and as helpful as they possibly can be with our son's interests and strengths recognised and activities planned accordingly. He was able to play outside the whole day if he wanted (generally every day!) and he was sad to leave Pennypot where he had flourished and made so many friends. The staff remained consistent throughout and our son was still able to see his key people from when he was younger, this consistency really made us all feel like we belonged.
Had it not been for a relocation we would have kept him there until it was time for him to start school. Thank you Pennypot!

I can’t describe Pennypot any other way than magical. Our son has flourished under the guidance of not just his room teachers, but all the staff, management included. The focus at the nursery is 100% about the children. Every single member of staff is friendly, approachable, and seem to know all the
children’s names. We will miss Pennypot terribly. Not only have they provided a safe learning and play environment for our son but they have been supportive with us as parents, helping us navigate all the stages from toddler to preschooler. I couldn’t recommend Pennypot enough and any child that gets the chance to attend will be utterly fortunate (as will their parents!).

We recently moved our son from another nursery to Pennypot after a bad encounter with the care provided. The experience with the team at Pennypot was a breath of fresh air and exceptional from the initial tour to the settling-in sessions and now his regular days in the Caterpillar room (baby). The daily
interactions with everyone are warm and welcoming, being greeted each morning by our names rather than a 'hi mum' which we received beforehand really makes such a difference and I enjoy dropping off and seeing the staff. The team ensures the activities are varied and educational and we receive regular updates on what he has been up to during his time in nursery. The nap room is fantastic so he sleeps well and the in-house chefs provide nutritious menus so my son enjoys mealtimes. My son loves the staff (regularly giving cuddles to everyone) and I can't recommend Pennypot and their fantastic team of staff enough.

My daughter has been in the Caterpillar room for 6 months. She loves the nursery and her key person immensely. The staff are wonderful, kind and reassuring and I am completely comfortable that she receives excellent care, attention and assistance in developing. The nursery has a wonderful range of activities
for the children both indoors and outdoors. The app is also a fantastic feature to reassure me that she is enjoying her day and allows me a window into her world when I'm at work. I couldn't recommend Pennypot more highly.

Pennypot have been outstanding from the word go, such a smooth transition from the first settling session to when he first started. The staff are so welcoming, so accommodating and cater for individual needs. The room set ups are amazing, the toys and equipment are all age appropriate and they provide
a range of stimulating and fun activities throughout the day.
My son always goes into nursery so happy and puts his arms out to all the staff, we get weekly photos so we can see what he's been up to.
He has access to the garden throughout the day, rain or shine.
The menu is well balanced and offers a vast range and some yummy puddings too!
Overall, if your looking for a brilliant nursery, look no further. Pennypot provides it all!

Our son has adored his time at Pennypot Day Nursery (Chobham). He skips out of the car when we arrive and doesn’t want to leave at the end of the day.
The care and attention from the staff is brilliant, they all know him by name and I always get a brilliant review of how is day has been and lovely
updates throughout the day. They know and understand his needs really well and cater to them accordingly.
He thrives outside and loves sand and water play and Pennypot always makes sure that he gets the opportunity to do the things he loves. His development has been noticeable since being at nursery.
We were worried about naps before starting but Pennypot handled that without a hitch. He eats well throughout the day. Overall I can’t fault it!

I have two children currently at Pennypot. The staff in both rooms have built wonderful relationships with them and continually create engaging activities which tap into their specific interests. Not only do they upload regular photos and snapshots of the things they have been up to but are also happy
to talk through any concerns or relay specific developments at pick-up every day. All staff at Pennypot have also been incredibly vigilant at dealing with my son's extensive allergies and they go above and beyond to ensure his daily environment is the safest it can be. Transitions between rooms are managed carefully and sensitively and in the preschool room, they pay particular attention to school readiness- including putting on an information evening for parents and offering great suggestions for activities and resources to help with this. I cannot recommend Pennypot enough - it really is a fantastic childcare setting!

She has multiple food allergies which have been managed so well. Her key workers are amazing and she has formed such a good bond with them. The
app updates keep us informed throughout the day. I honestly can't recommend Pennypot highly enough.

Our daughter started nursery at Pennypot in August 2022 just after turning one. She started in Caterpillars, the baby room, but recently moved up class. Our experience of Pennypot has been great. The staff helped her and me adjust quickly to her life at nursery and were very reassuring when she started.
They let me know she was ok and I got updates as she adjusted in.
There is always such a caring feeling of family there as even staff who haven't worked in her room know her name. It is really great to get updates and photos through to the app as reassurance and a bit of a glimpse into what she is up to and feel more connected to her during the day. They take the time to tell me what she's been up to every day when I pick her up. We have seen a big development in her and great to have a clear site of development they are working on. And we have had some very thoughtful weekly and monthly updates, which they obviously spend time writing up. The rooms and outdoor space is fabulous.

We joined preschool at Pennypot in May 2022 from another setting and have been really impressed with the quality of service.
There is a strong family feel there and we were made to feel welcome from the start.
The staff are very caring, always offering great learning opportunities for children.
We love the focus board where interests are listed for each child to help focus and develop learning for a given week.
Outside time is very important for us and we are delighted to know that the patio doors are always open and children can roam in and out throughout the day rather than at set times.
The school transition for preschoolers is also fantastic, with a lot of support and clarity being offered to children and parents to help navigate this period.
We also enjoy being part of nursery life with the different events organised throughout the year!
Our son is always happy to go in the morning so we know he is very well cared for which is all we can wish for!

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.958) out of 10 for Pennypot Day Nursery (Chobham) is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.958 for Pennypot Day Nursery (Chobham) is calculated as follows: ( (322 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 336 Ratings = 4.958
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Pennypot Day Nursery (Chobham) is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 116 number of registered child places is 23.2, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
