Our child has been going to Toad Hall Nursery (Walton-on-Thames) for three years and has been very happy there! The staff have always been caring and particularly helpful when some extra support has been needed. There are times when the communication with parents could be better, however, our child always comes home happy and constantly talks about nursery and we can see how much they are learning and developing there. The facilities are brilliant with lots of outdoor space - there is a lot for the children to do, with a mix of activities set up/led by teachers, as well as areas for the children to explore and learn on their own. We would definitely recommend the nursery.
Both of our boys have attended Toad Hall and both have been happy and extremely well looked after at nursery. The nursery is well-led and managed and the staff work very hard to provide a nurturing and developmental environment for the children in their care.
We strive to provide the best possible outcomes for all children and your comments have been greatly appreciated.
Would highly recommend Toad Hall - my daughter has been there for a year now in full-time care and has flourished - she has developed so well in all areas in ways that I never would have been able to achieve from home. The carers are superb and feel like an extension of our family when it comes to childcare! Thank you so much!
What an amazing review, I am very proud to hear the nursery feels like an extension of your family. We strive hard to build partnerships with our parents and I am pleased you feel this shines through from the team.
Overall I'm happy with the care my child receives and he is making some great friends, but I do feel it lacks value for money as we move up. The cost is the same but the communication and activities they do daily seem to have dwindled with no specific activities like painting or sensory tables mentioned most days other than 'went in the garden'. They did more in the younger classes or told us about it at least. I also would prefer if they avoided some less nutritious meals like cheese on toast as the kids seem to eat more at nursery and try more things with others around. The staff themselves are loving though and the children seem to love them which is the main thing.
Thank you for your review. It's lovely to hear you recognise the love the staff have for the children and see the beautiful relationships between the two. Throughout the day the children take part in a wide and varied range of activities to ensure all developmental areas are being challenged and...
Brilliant. The teachers are caring and help to build out the children's skills. The facilities are amazing, with so much outdoor space to play in and a great variety of toys. All toys are well cared for. Such a wonderful place for children to thrive.
The boys have grown into such lovely boys since being at Toad Hall Nursery Walton-on-Thames. The staff go above and beyond for the children. They helped massively after my son's autism diagnosis, they put in extra measures and dealt with the situation with such care and compassion. The boys absolutely love coming here and we will miss this nursery so much. Special credit to the members of staff who do everything possible to make sure the boys have grown into great caring children. Also helped with their speech massively!
The staff inside each nursery class work very hard and they deserve a pay rise. The communication from the nursery, as a whole, is disappointing often late, lacking information and with spelling mistakes. I do feel value for money could be better, with more exciting food and snacks, more stimulating learning and more outside classes - dance/yoga/singing etc.
My child loves coming to nursery, even though he only does once a week. I feel he has made some great connections with the staff and children. They do a nice amount of events throughout the year, which is lovely. My favourite one being their graduation which is so, so sweet. Both my children came here from age one and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Our twins have absolutely loved their time at Toad Hall and are sad to leave. Big shout out to all the staff for looking after them and for everything they do to keep them safe and happy.
Both our children came to Toad Hall, as with our first child we only have good things to say about the nursery, including the buildings and most importantly the consistency of care and education our children have had. Thank you so much.
We have always felt very comfortable with the staff and surroundings of Toad Hall. Our child has always enjoyed their time here and is going to miss it very much. We have another younger child still in the nursery and are looking forward to him progressing further at Toad Hall
All three of my children have attended Toad Hall. They have always been happy and secure there. The staff are wonderful and it’s a testament to the nursery that most of the staff have been there since my first child joined in Jan 2016. The outside space is fabulous and filled with toys. When stating school, the teacher commented how well prepared my child was for school.
My son loves Felcott Road Nursery he has been there since he is 9 months old and is now 3-years-old. The staff are brilliant and really get the best out of him, he comes home every day with new skills that he has picked up. He has made lots of friends and feels so comfortable in his class and looks forward to seeing everyone every day. Thank you, can’t recommend Toad Hall enough.
Absolutely wonderful nursery with the best staff. They are so thoughtful and have made my transition back to work a pleasure, knowing that my child is so well taken care of and happy. They have great facilities, wonderful homemade food, and the staff are incredible. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, thanks for everything!
Both of our children have been to Felcott Road nursery and we are absolutely thrilled with how well they have done there. The staff are so caring and go out of their way to ensure the children’s needs are met. Our son is in preschool at Felcott Road currently and the team are doing an amazing job getting him ready for starting school in a couple of months’ time. Two years ago the staff identified that he was somewhat behind expected progress with his speech, so an individual support plan was put in place for him. This was entirely at the suggestion of the Felcott team and they handled this brilliantly with us as parents. He has benefitted so much from the support plan and as a result, is now at the expected level - we are so grateful to the team for their help. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Felcott Road, we cannot fault any aspect of their service.
We are very pleased with my son's progress, the staff are very caring and friendly. They always update us on activities my son has been doing, great facilities, lovely location, overall we are very happy with Toad Hall Nursery Walton-on-Thames.
My daughter started in Toad Hall Nursery Walton-on-Thames when she was 10 months old. She loves it so much, she has made lots of little friends. She is now two and has lots of fun every day, is developing so well, takes part in lots of activities both fun and educational. We are very content with the care that she receives. All the staff are really lovely and were very supportive when my daughter had a bit of a wobble moving from one room to another. They did everything they could to make the transition as easy for her as they possibly could. The garden area is really big, which for me was important, as I like my daughter to have that outside space to play. They also have allotments so that the children can learn about growing vegetables. Overall we are very happy with the level of care that our daughter receives and I would highly recommend.
As I have said previously, the nursery is brilliant, but the only thing that does let it down a little, is the fact that they haven't embraced digital communication in general across the whole of the Toad Hall network. The communications we get from the staff are brilliant, but it is all written down on paper, and sometimes, things can get missed.
A very happy, stimulating environment for our children. Great management and lovely carers. Our children settled quickly and are always happy to attend. A good quality and varied menu. Lots of different activities and a fantastic outdoor play area.
Caring and fun setting for my little ones with engaged staff and great food!

Meet the Team (1)
I have been working in day nurseries since 1995 after qualifying as an NNEB nursery nurse, giving me over 30 years of experience in the sector, including 28 years in management roles. In 2013, I completed my BA (Hons) in Education & Childcare, following a Foundation Degree in Management & Leadership in Early Years.
Throughout my career, I have continually updated my training in areas such as First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Food Hygiene, and Safeguarding. I have previously been a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and will also be the named DSL here at Toad Hall.
My vision is to provide outstanding quality childcare and education in an inclusive, safe, and stimulating environment. I strongly believe staff are the biggest asset any nursery can have, and I am passionate about supporting and valuing each team member so they can create exceptional learning opportunities and give children the very best start.
Having my own children (now grown up and independent) attend Nursery, I understand the needs of parents and believe that forming strong relationships with families enhances every child’s Nursery experience.
