View Full Details of Toad Hall Nursery Walton-on-ThamesMy daughter has been at Toad Hall for 1.5 years now and we absolutely love it there. Unfortunately due to personal circumstances we are having to leave the area and move away, and when viewing other nurseries nothing else quite compares to what the team have built at Toad Hall. The staff are wonderful - so supportive and encouraging of my daughter's development. The office team are incredible. The nursery has a small allotment that all rooms have access to as well as outside garden space and a new communication app is currently being introduced. As well as coffee/breakfast mornings and stay-and-play sessions - all which add to the charm. If I could keep my daughter here I would do it without a second thought.
I have been grateful to the staff who have supported my 7-month-old settling into nursery two days a week. I appreciated their calls updating me on his first few days. It is lovely to see my son smile each morning as he goes in. Staff have been thoughtful in selecting suitable activities for him to engage in.
We love Toad Hall. The staff are so wonderful and caring towards our children. I asked my 4-year-old for her review of the nursery and she tells me it's the best. She loves that she can draw, play outside, play rugby with her friends and do puzzles. Her favourite is playdough with her teachers, she tells me. Both my children run in with smiles on their faces and come out with bigger ones at the end of the day. As a parent, I couldn't ask for more.
Lovely nursery and preschool, both my boys were very happy there and only left as moving house outside of Surrey! Staff in rooms and the office were friendly and easy to talk to and children bonded well with them. Always smiles at the end of the day and lots of fun had in classes with a variety of activities. Rugby tots and baking being favourites if not out in the garden! Would recommend it if you live in the area.
Overall, we're very happy. Staff are brilliant and the nursery does a very good job. Areas of improvement would be the food menu, quality of food is good but overall menu isn't. Outside area needs a good clean. Special mentions to several of the staff members.
My son has been at the nursery for 3 years and my daughter has been there for just over a year. We have always been really happy with the nursery. Both our children have thrived in the nursery. The open space is wonderful and the daily activities have always been well thought out. The staff are always friendly and approachable. I love that over the years the staff have cared for both my children. Whilst staff rotation is expected, it's wonderful to see so many stay for so many years.
Our son has been at Toad Hall since May 2022 and has flourished since being there. It's been incredible to watch his development and build friendships, all under the excellent care and leadership of the team there. Many of the staff have been there for years and have such a wonderful way with the children, fostering their individual learning journeys and care for others. The outdoor space is fantastic and the activities the children get to do are varied and exciting - from tending to the vegetables in the allotments to cookery classes with the nursery chef, our son gets to experience so much. The staff have also supported us through key transitions such as dropping naps and more recently, potty training and have just made it all so easy and seamless. As a parent, we are so grateful for the support we receive but most of all the love, care and guidance they provide to our son and the other children.
Our three-year-old son has been at Toad Hall for the last two years. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with so much love, care and support that initially made the transition from our previous nursery to this one so seamless. Since then, our son has continued to flourish under the nursery's brilliant care and leadership. There's amazing outdoor space which gives the children plenty of opportunity for fresh air and even has an allotment where the children grow their own fresh veg, which the chef then cooks with. The menu is varied and nutritious with special meals for various holidays and celebrations. The rooms are tidy yet inviting and the curriculum is well structured. There are lots of events throughout the year for the children and parents to participate in which really makes you feel as if you are part of a big family. Above all else, the staff are incredible - creating the best environment for the children to grow and we are grateful for each and every one of them.
My three-year-old has attended Toad Hall Felcott Road since he was 10 months and we’ve always been happy with the brilliant care he receives from the whole team. There’s great outdoor space, the freshly prepared food is excellent and the rooms are tidy, inviting, and cosy. But most importantly, it’s a lovely happy place with the children at its heart. Once you’ve settled in it feels like an extended family. Many of the staff have worked there for years which we think speaks volumes. Our child can name any members of the team, whether they work in one of the rooms, the office or in support teams like the kitchen. Everyone pitches in to make it the best possible experience for the kids. This year our child has needed additional attention and flexibility during a period of medical treatment. The management and his carers have gone above and beyond to look after him, practically but also emotionally. They’ve been with us every step of the way so I’m so grateful I found Toad Hall!
We couldn’t love the nursery any more than we do. To have a safe space for our little ones to be looked after was obviously super important. Toad Hall delivers on every level, from the friendly, caring and attentive staff to the amount of activities the kids do every day and to the nutritious and constantly changing food menu - it really is fabulous. Both of my children attend the nursery and have developed so much since they joined! We love Toad Hall!
My child has been attending the nursery for the last 18 months and has thrived with the staff. He loves the activities they do and all the space in the garden, which has an excellent amount of shade for sunny days. The staff are very caring and seem to really know him, which is lovely to see. The monthly newsletter is helpful to see what else is going on at the nursery and I like the daily photos of what each class has been doing. I’d highly recommend this nursery and am really pleased we chose it.
Our little girl has always been really excited to go to nursery and has been thriving in the setting here. She has been here for 2 years and has built really strong relationships with all the key workers, and most importantly real friendships with other children there. We have felt it's collaborative, so when we have been working on her development at home then this has always been supported by her key workers in the nursery - and vice versa. We have always found we get good updates on the progress she is making by ourselves having built up good relationships with those who work there. Most importantly we've always felt she is safe there and well cared for, alongside being really happy and content
My son has been attending the nursery for the last year and a half. The nursery has supported his development, encouraged independence as well as forming good friendships. The classes have always been friendly with a good selection of activities. The staff in his current class provide great support to him so he can become more confident in carrying out activities and participating in group tasks.
Overall we are really happy with Toad Hall Nursery Walton-on-Thames. My child loves it there and has great relationships with their key workers. I have deducted a star simply because of weak communication. I get the impression my child does a lot more activities during the day than they share with us. The staff don't proactively share many details of their days, therefore, I think they're underselling themselves. A way to view photos of the children throughout the day (rather than just keeping an eye on the Facebook page) would also be a big plus.
My daughter has been attending Toad Hall Nursery Walton-on-Thames for the past eight months and loves it. The nursery workers are genuinely caring and nice people who go above and beyond to create an environment of fun and learning. I would highly recommend this nursery if you are looking for a place for your child to develop and thrive.
The staff are always courteous and friendly. Prompt communication and my daughter has a good relationship with her caregivers. They do an amazing job to look after all the children so well. She is progressing in her independence and confidence in all skills. It is especially good at having a decent amount of outside space compared to other nurseries I have seen.
Our child has been going to Toad Hall Nursery (Walton-on-Thames) for three years and has been very happy there! The staff have always been caring and particularly helpful when some extra support has been needed. There are times when the communication with parents could be better, however, our child always comes home happy and constantly talks about nursery and we can see how much they are learning and developing there. The facilities are brilliant with lots of outdoor space - there is a lot for the children to do, with a mix of activities set up/led by teachers, as well as areas for the children to explore and learn on their own. We would definitely recommend the nursery.
Both of our boys have attended Toad Hall and both have been happy and extremely well looked after at nursery. The nursery is well-led and managed and the staff work very hard to provide a nurturing and developmental environment for the children in their care.
Would highly recommend Toad Hall - my daughter has been there for a year now in full-time care and has flourished - she has developed so well in all areas in ways that I never would have been able to achieve from home. The carers are superb and feel like an extension of our family when it comes to childcare! Thank you so much!
Overall I'm happy with the care my child receives and he is making some great friends, but I do feel it lacks value for money as we move up. The cost is the same but the communication and activities they do daily seem to have dwindled with no specific activities like painting or sensory tables mentioned most days other than 'went in the garden'. They did more in the younger classes or told us about it at least. I also would prefer if they avoided some less nutritious meals like cheese on toast as the kids seem to eat more at nursery and try more things with others around. The staff themselves are loving though and the children seem to love them which is the main thing.
