At Co-op Childcare Carterton, they have a diverse team of nursery practitioners who bring lots of experience and plan creative activities each day.
They make it a priority to keep parents informed with up to the minute information, and host regular parent panels, so parents can have a say in how they run their nursery. For this, they have a ParentZone app which keeps you informed about what your child has been up to all day including observations, assessments, meals, and even toilet training progress!
All staff are pediatric first-aid trained. They know that little things can make a big difference, so they make sure to give children lots of hands-on experiences. There are areas for growing food (and eating it). Children make regular visits to local care homes and focus on doing their bit for the environment.
Each child will learn all about the environment and their local community through a global eco-schools programme which will make them become a real environmental champion!

About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 52 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 52 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 21.9 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

Highly recommend this nursery as all staff are very hard working and very professional, always welcoming with a smile on their face. Also very caring. My son loves going to this nursery and gives me peace of mind leaving there.

Lovely nursery, my little boy gets excited when it’s nursery time! The staff are super friendly and always make us feel at ease.

I would highly recommend the Co-operative Nursery in Carterton. My son has been going since he was 10 months old and now is in his final year of preschool. He loves all the staff and they all make him feel at home. He is always happy and very chatty about the day he has had at preschool and how much fun and activities he has done. He especially loves the garden and all the scooters and equipment they are allowed to use. I could not fault them with the hand over at the end of the day all very detailed on what he has eaten and what he has done in the day.
Great staff, my child loves being here, has lots of fun but also learns so much. Any queries are answered quickly too.

The staff are fantastic and really care about my child. He enjoys preschool and is excited to go in each morning. The ParentZone app is useful for keeping updated and it's great to see pictures of what my son had been doing.

Our son loves to go to this nursery and he has a good bond with all the workers there. There is a good mixture of things for him to do.

The staff are very caring and make real efforts to bring out the best in your child, be they boisterous, shy, or somewhere in between. They also make sure that parents know exactly what their little ones have been up to every day when they come to collect them. All in all a good recommendation.
Staff never seem to stay for very long. My little one constantly has new key workers. Would be nice to see some consistency. Also hate to see little ones with dirty noses and faces. Would be nice at pickup if they could let the kids wash their hands and faces.

I would and continue to highly recommend the Co-operative Childcare. The staff in the Carterton, West Oxfordshire branch have been fantastic since my eldest daughter started there in 2014. I cannot fault the care and obvious admiration the staff have for all the children. They are connected, enthusiastic and have a wonderful bond not just with my two daughters but all the children who attend and have attended. I regularly witness them speaking to siblings by name when them and their parents collect younger siblings. The building is always clean, tidy and well kept. They constantly update the rooms and maintain a high standard. The children are well fed, spend lots of time outside exploring and learning. I could continue to praise with many more comments. Thank you to Carterton staff for all their hard work and dedication.
Not happy with this nursery at all. Admin procedures, communication, billing and payments procedures were regularly poorly handled by the management team. Lots of mistakes made on their behalf and never an apology or phone call to explain why. The manager was unapproachable and condescending but...
We had no problems with the care given to our children, however, we would not care to deal with the poor management, therefore, decided to withdraw our children from this nursery. We would definitely not recommend this place to anyone

Thank you for your comments and we are truly sorry that the administration within this nursery caused you such an issue. We did implement a new Nursery Management System last year that required fees in advance of the 1st and did find that this caused issues for some parents but this issue is now resolved. We are happy to hear that you had no problems with the care your child received but once again we apologise for any problems you encountered around the administration.

My twins really enjoyed attending this nursery. The staff were wonderful in the baby room - kind, friendly and enthusiastic. They spent each day doing a huge variety of activities and brought home many wonderful things they had made, including mini Christmas cakes. The hours they cover is also fabulous, so you can drop kids of very early and not have to worry about breakfast, and a late finish if required. If it wasn't for needing a term time only nursery, we would have happily continued using this nursery. I cannot even fault the safeguarding - my husband was thoroughly quizzed when he came to pick them up once!
My two boys went to this nursery, one is ten and the other is five, both really enjoyed it, which made it so much easier for me to go back to work. Very friendly staff always happy to help, would recommend it.

We have had 2 of our children there for 2-4 years and they always liked going and got on well with the staff. The play areas are nice and I always felt safe dropping them off. There are areas to improve but they always valued feedback and tried to make things better.

Have a great relationship with some of the longer standing staff members who have looked after both my boys, could not ask for a better key worker. They have made great use of the setting and nearby outdoor areas. The only negative point would be that there can often be a high turnover of staff/management although I suspect this is due to being near a military base rather than anything else!

I have worked for The Co-operative Childcare since 2004, working from a Nursery Practitioner to a Nursery Manager.I am Level 4 qualified in Childcare.
I have two children who attend our nursery and absolutely love the time they spend here.
Being part of a child's life and watching them grow and develop has to be the most rewarding job in the world. It is a wonderful feeling knowing a family has chosen our nursery setting to look after their most precious gift.
