At Co-op Childcare Carterton, they have a diverse team of nursery practitioners who bring lots of experience and plan creative activities each day.

They make it a priority to keep parents informed with up to the minute information, and host regular parent panels, so parents can have a say in how they run their nursery. For this, they have a ParentZone app which keeps you informed about what your child has been up to all day including observations, assessments, meals, and even toilet training progress!

All staff are pediatric first-aid trained. They know that little things can make a big difference, so they make sure to give children lots of hands-on experiences. There are areas for growing food (and eating it). Children make regular visits to local care homes and focus on doing their bit for the environment.

Each child will learn all about the environment and their local community through a global eco-schools programme which will make them become a real environmental champion!

My son very rarely talked before going here and now he has taken on new words while attending the coop nursery in Carterton. All staff are polite very understanding of my sons needs and has helped us as a family too. Love when I get sent pictures and updates! On pick up always give you a run down of

My daughter has been at this nursery since she was 10 months and is now off to school so she has experienced every room. From the beginning the staff were all warm, caring and engaged. She enjoys the healthy food and it's and it's such a bonus that all the children eat the same food together. She has
grown so much from a shy baby to a confident and chatty little girl and a lot of the credit goes to nursery. Activities have always been plentiful, fun, varied and age appropriate. She loves the big garden and especially the mud kitchen, dancing and singing, yoga, drawing and painting. The management have always been kind, welcoming and helpful. I couldn't recommend the nursery highly enough and anticipate the transition to school will be easy as she has experienced a busy and active but also really caring and child focused nursery environment.

My son has just had his last day at Little Pioneers Carterton as he moves on to "big school," and we are so sad to be leaving. He has been there since he was 2 and has absolutely loved his time there. The staff are wonderfully nurturing and genuinely care for the children as if they were their own.
During
his time there, my son has learnt so much, made lots of friends (both children and staff!), and grown so much in confidence. The nursery app is brilliant too - it kept me updated throughout the day with his activities, meals, toileting, accidents/incidents and sometimes pictures of what he's up to, which was so reassuring. He also enjoyed some amazing food there that I was honestly jealous of at times!
We are so grateful for everything the team has done, and I always recommend this nursery to anyone who asks. Little Pioneers Carterton has been such a special part of our journey, and we will really miss it.

Our son started at Carterton in November, and he loves it. We can really see his speech coming on, and he's started to sing whilst he's playing at home which is great! The nursery have been great with him, and you can definitely see his confidence levels increasing. If he's a little upset in the mornings,
they always know exactly how to handle him. It's so easy to speak with the nursery too, even if I have what I think is a silly question! We definitely made the right choice for him.

The nursery has been fantastic with our daughter. She started of very nervous but they have worked closely with her to become confident.

Both my girls have been at Carterton Nursery since they were 10months old, both love going and have such fun. The staff are always positive and always there to help.

Our 2-year-old has been going here for 8 months now and loves it. She always talks about her friends and what she has been up to as well as coming out with new things that she’s been learning about. The team are all really friendly, kind and caring and keep us informed at pick-ups and via an app, regularly
getting pictures too. I have seen my daughter’s confidence grow since starting here and this has been supported during potty training also. They always provide great activities for the children and have let them have free flow in the room and outside, going out in all weathers too.

My little girl loves coming to nursery and thrives here every day. Her speech and confidence have come on so much since being here, and every member of staff she passes takes the time to say hello and ask her how she is with a big smile on her face. It's our home from home.

Our daughter just finished her three and a half year journey with the Co-op nursery. From the sad, shy little twelve months old baby to a confident, beautiful girl ready to start her next adventure at primary school, the Co-op staff were there with us along the way. All through Covid and beyond, we
couldn’t be any more grateful for the years of love, support, care, occasional tears, but mostly knowledge they gave her, especially in the last year in preschool, in order to provide her with an amazing start on her next adventure. All the staff been amazing, all the way from ladybirds to preschool. Our daughter will really miss seeing you all, but not too much as we are continuing our Co-op journey with our second eighteen month old daughter and we wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you for everything!

The staff at this nursery are all brilliant, friendly and great with my two children. There’s lots of different activities and my eldest has amazing writing and spelling skills already, which can only be down to the staff teaching him.

My daughter attended for 3 years, full days, 4 times a week and absolutely loved it. Everyone was so caring and helped her become the confident little lady she is today. She was in very safe hands and I could not have asked for anything more.

We have had the best experience here over the last eight years with our children. Both of our girls joined from five months old and each settled instantly. Throughout all of the rooms they have been in, they have had excellent care and built strong bonds with the staff.
Each day there was various activities,
all of which ensured their days were fun filled. Preschool really helped to get them ready for starting at primary, from using phonics to practicing handwriting.
We are going to miss the staff here a huge amount, the support they give to families is invaluable and goes a long way to ensuring that we were, as parents, confident they were giving the best care.

All 3 of my children attended this setting, and 2 still do, it has been wonderful to watch my children grow and interact with other children and staff members. I always receive a detailed handover, and feel that my children are well cared for and given individualised care with learning etc. They are
always happy while in the nursery/preschool and fed well. Staff are very hot on accident forms and letting us know of any head bumps, and on days that they are sad leaving mummy I get pictures of them playing happily minutes after I leave.

My son has been going to this nursery since September 2021. Management, key workers and staff in general are all friendly and kind, nothing is ever too much. My son settled in quickly and he absolutely loves going to nursery, sometimes cries if I pick him up early (I think he feels like he’s missing
out!). I can’t thank the Co-op Nursery Carterton enough for being part of my boy's journey and helping him grow. He’s leaving such a different boy to what he started as, and he’ll definitely miss everyone when he leaves this month as he’s going to big school in September. We will never forget you all. Thank you for being such a big part of our lives, the help and kindness shown and for helping our little boy to grow, shine and flourish. A nursery definitely recommended.

My daughter started in September 2022 and absolutely loves attending. The staff are always so lovely, welcoming and helpful. My daughter has made such good bonds with the staff and always looks forward to going in and seeing them. The management team are also super helpful when I’ve had enquiries etc.
Cannot fault the nursery at all, looking forward to my youngest joining in the upcoming months and seeing her have the same positive experience as the staff always talk to her at drop off/pick up too. Highly recommend this nursery!

My 20-month-old son has been going to this nursery since he was about 6 months old. All the staff are amazing with him, he clearly loves them as he's always so happy when I see him in his room and the interaction he has with them all.
Just lately he went from being so easy to drop off to a little bit
more clingy to me due to his age I think and a phase! But the room manager and the rest of the girls in the room constantly helped with this and really worked with my boy to help him settle in quickly! He now is so much better! As a mum, this was so reassuring for me that my boy is in the best care when away from me - so for that I'm so grateful.
Also, all the different activities and fun play they do is great - all the updates on the app are amazing and again I love seeing my boy so happy!
I would 100% recommend the nursery to anyone thinking of sending their child here.

I have worked for The Co-operative Childcare since 2004, working from a Nursery Practitioner to a Nursery Manager.
I am Level 4 qualified in Childcare.


I have two children who attend our nursery and absolutely love the time they spend here.


Being part of a child's life and watching them grow and develop has to be the most rewarding job in the world.
It is a wonderful feeling knowing a family has chosen our nursery setting to look after their most precious gift.
