At Co-op Childcare Carterton, they have a diverse team of nursery practitioners who bring lots of experience and plan creative activities each day.
They make it a priority to keep parents informed with up to the minute information, and host regular parent panels, so parents can have a say in how they run their nursery. For this, they have a ParentZone app which keeps you informed about what your child has been up to all day including observations, assessments, meals, and even toilet training progress!
All staff are pediatric first-aid trained. They know that little things can make a big difference, so they make sure to give children lots of hands-on experiences. There are areas for growing food (and eating it). Children make regular visits to local care homes and focus on doing their bit for the environment.
Each child will learn all about the environment and their local community through a global eco-schools programme which will make them become a real environmental champion!

About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 52 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 52 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 21.9 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

My daughter has attended the nursery for six months now, from only 9 months old. Although it is rarely something a parents wants, needing a nursery isn't ideal, I have nothing but great things to say about Little Pioneers in Carterton. She has gone from a baby who breathheld crying dropping her off, to walking over to a staff member for a cuddle then happily being sat down for a snack as I leave. The women in Ladybirds and Caterpillars, are amazing, what they juggle is incredible and my daughter seems genuinely so happy and settled. They truly care about her, and it is so clear to see. I am incredibly grateful to them because it means I can comfortably care for other people's children in nursing. I'm also very impressed at the communication on the family app. Fantastic nursery, thank you!
My son very rarely talked before going here and now he has taken on new words while attending the coop nursery in Carterton. My daughter has been at this nursery since she was 10 months and is now off to school so she has experienced every room. From the beginning the staff were all warm, caring and engaged. She enjoys the healthy food and it's and it's such a bonus that all the children eat the same food together. She has grown so much from a shy baby to a confident and chatty little girl and a lot of the credit goes to nursery. Activities have always been plentiful, fun, varied and age appropriate. She loves the big garden and especially the mud kitchen, dancing and singing, yoga, drawing and painting. The management have always been kind, welcoming and helpful. I couldn't recommend the nursery highly enough and anticipate the transition to school will be easy as she has experienced a busy and active but also really caring and child focused nursery environment.
My son has just had his last day at Little Pioneers Carterton as he moves on to "big school," and we are so sad to be leaving. He has been there since he was 2 and has absolutely loved his time there. The staff are wonderfully nurturing and genuinely care for the children as if they were their...
During his time there, my son has learnt so much, made lots of friends (both children and staff!), and grown so much in confidence. The nursery app is brilliant too - it kept me updated throughout the day with his activities, meals, toileting, accidents/incidents and sometimes pictures of what he's up to, which was so reassuring. He also enjoyed some amazing food there that I was honestly jealous of at times!
We are so grateful for everything the team has done, and I always recommend this nursery to anyone who asks. Little Pioneers Carterton has been such a special part of our journey, and we will really miss it.
thank you so much for your kind review. we will miss you all.

The nursery have been great with him, and you can definitely see his confidence levels increasing. If he's a little upset in the mornings, they always know exactly how to handle him. It's so easy to speak with the nursery too, even if I have what I think is a silly question! We definitely made the right choice for him.

The team are all really friendly, kind and caring and keep us informed at pick-ups and via an app, regularly getting pictures too. I have seen my daughter’s confidence grow since starting here and this has been supported during potty training also. They always provide great activities for the children and have let them have free flow in the room and outside, going out in all weathers too.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our nursery.
My little girl loves coming to nursery and thrives here every day. Her speech and confidence have come on so much since being here, and every member of staff she passes takes the time to say hello and ask her how she is with a big smile on her face. It's our home from home.

Our daughter just finished her three and a half year journey with the Co-op nursery. From the sad, shy little twelve months old baby to a confident, beautiful girl ready to start her next adventure at primary school, the Co-op staff were there with us along the way. All through Covid and beyond, we couldn’t be any more grateful for the years of love, support, care, occasional tears, but mostly knowledge they gave her, especially in the last year in preschool, in order to provide her with an amazing start on her next adventure. All the staff been amazing, all the way from ladybirds to preschool. Our daughter will really miss seeing you all, but not too much as we are continuing our Co-op journey with our second eighteen month old daughter and we wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you for everything!
The staff at this nursery are all brilliant, friendly and great with my two children. There’s lots of different activities and my eldest has amazing writing and spelling skills already, which can only be down to the staff teaching him.

My daughter attended for 3 years, full days, 4 times a week and absolutely loved it. Everyone was so caring and helped her become the confident little lady she is today. She was in very safe hands and I could not have asked for anything more.

Each day there was various activities, all of which ensured their days were fun filled. Preschool really helped to get them ready for starting at primary, from using phonics to practicing handwriting.
We are going to miss the staff here a huge amount, the support they give to families is invaluable and goes a long way to ensuring that we were, as parents, confident they were giving the best care.

I always receive a detailed handover, and feel that my children are well cared for and given individualised care with learning etc. They are always happy while in the nursery/preschool and fed well. Staff are very hot on accident forms and letting us know of any head bumps, and on days that they are sad leaving mummy I get pictures of them playing happily minutes after I leave.

My son settled in quickly and he absolutely loves going to nursery, sometimes cries if I pick him up early (I think he feels like he’s missing out!). I can’t thank the Co-op Nursery Carterton enough for being part of my boy's journey and helping him grow. He’s leaving such a different boy to what he started as, and he’ll definitely miss everyone when he leaves this month as he’s going to big school in September. We will never forget you all. Thank you for being such a big part of our lives, the help and kindness shown and for helping our little boy to grow, shine and flourish. A nursery definitely recommended.
My son has settled in beautifully to the nursery. He is very happy and has a great relationship with the adults. He goes to nursery enthusiastically and comes home every day full of stories about his day. We feel confident that he’s safe and nurtured throughout the day.

Highly recommend this nursery!
