At Co-op Childcare Carterton, they have a diverse team of nursery practitioners who bring lots of experience and plan creative activities each day.

They make it a priority to keep parents informed with up to the minute information, and host regular parent panels, so parents can have a say in how they run their nursery. For this, they have a ParentZone app which keeps you informed about what your child has been up to all day including observations, assessments, meals, and even toilet training progress!

All staff are pediatric first-aid trained. They know that little things can make a big difference, so they make sure to give children lots of hands-on experiences. There are areas for growing food (and eating it). Children make regular visits to local care homes and focus on doing their bit for the environment.

Each child will learn all about the environment and their local community through a global eco-schools programme which will make them become a real environmental champion!

My son began attending this nursery when he was just over 2 years old. He has loved every single day of nursery and is always full of excitement to see his friends. He has learnt so much, becoming confident in forming relationships, with his speech and trying new things and he has also learned to be
independent. The staff have hugely helped with ditching his dummy and providing their recommendations which we have mirrored at home and this has been a huge success! The activities are varied and keep the children occupied and they regularly feedback about my son's favourite interests. I highly recommend this nursery.

My daughter has settled so well at the nursery and the staff go out of their way for the children. She absolutely adores every single one of them! Since starting nursery a few months ago my daughter's development has come on so much and most importantly I know she is happy and well looked after there
which makes my working day that little bit easier. The nursery have put on special little events to really make the parents feel involved, such as food tasting evenings, parent's evening and a tea party. I highly recommend this nursery.

Our daughter started here in April and has now been in a full time placement for a month now. Drop off and pick-up times are super flexible - drop off and pick up between the opening hours. Food and nappies are included. We've been invited to a parent's evening, a jubilee picnic and to be classroom
ambassadors already, so it's safe to say they are very engaging. In addition to that, we get updates almost hourly via the parent app, 3 or more photos a week and updates on nappy changes, sleeps, food and activities. I recommend the nursery and haven't had any problems so far.

I have twin boys that have started attending nursery this year and they couldn't have settled in any better, I was very happy with the transition of them only being at home through Covid lockdowns and only seeing two adults and no other children to attending nursery. They absolutely love attending nursery
and have big smiles when they see the staff. Staff are very caring and go above and beyond every day. They give us such brilliant updates throughout the day of what the little ones have been up to and make suggestions on what to practice at home to help engage the child and support their development. One of my children has a disability, which was a really scary time for us and concerning thinking how he would cope in nursery, but my mind was quickly put at ease when I saw how diligent they were and I know now I made the right decision to send him to this nursery. Very happy with everything and highly recommend it to any parent.

My daughter has loved every single day of nursery. She has learnt so much, become so confident and independent and has made great relationships with all the staff.
Within weeks, her key person started and helped us crack potty training, ditching her dummy and eating lots of different foods she would
normally turn down.
I have only positive things to say of our experience. Would absolutely recommend.

The staff at the Carterton Co-op Childcare Day Nursery work incredibly hard and come up with such lovely ideas, to help families. The management are especially great and always so helpful. The staff in the butterflies room have been wonderful and been so welcoming to my son. They seem to come up with
great activities to keep the children occupied and think about the interests that my child has in particular.

Between my two children, we have been at the Co-op Childcare Carterton branch for seven years. The staff - specifically the management - are amazing. My daughter runs in in the mornings and drags her heels when we have to go home at the end of the day, which is obviously a testament to how happy she
is there and the fun she has during the day. I would, and do often, highly recommend the nursery to anyone I know and work with.

Our daughter has been at this nursery for nearly a year now. We have gradually built up her time there as she enjoys it so much. The communication throughout the pandemic was especially reassuring. The staff ensured there were lots of photos of the children’s daily activities on the app which was lovely
to receive. They stayed in touch with good communication via email throughout.
The staff are always extremely friendly and approachable.
Our daughter recently transitioned to a new room and that worked very smoothly. It was great that she had settling in times in the new room to get her used to it and the new staff. Her speech and development have come on leaps and bounds and we enjoy reading through her development frameworks that are shared in detail on the app too.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for three months and absolutely loves going. Her key person, the management and all staff who work with her have worked so hard to help her settle in. She was very reluctant to start with as she hadn't been away from me much since she was born. All of the
staff were brilliant with her and took the time to help her. They kept me up to date with her day to also put my mind at ease.
She literally runs to any member of staff who come to greet us in reception. The nursery keep me up to date with her development and next steps so that I can help her progress at home too. The staff plan great activities with the children each day and the facility and resources are very engaging for the children. The nursery opens until 18:30 which is also a huge benefit for my work situation as I need slightly later childcare.

Our son has attended this nursery since he was one and is leaving shortly to start reception. From the day he started, he’s been really happy here and we’ve never had any problems leaving him in the care of the lovely staff at this nursery. I know he will really miss it. We will definitely be using

My first son attended this nursery and because he enjoyed it so much, I didn't even consider a different one for my second. The care and education they give is amazing. I look forward to seeing what's been happening during his day through the photos and information logged on the app. The food is varied,
healthy and lovingly made by the Chef. Overall this is a super nursery, with friendly and knowledgeable staff, offering fantastic value for money - I would absolutely recommended this nursery to other parents.

My son likes the staff and I am happy that he is looked after well and enjoys his time there. Organised play is imaginative and engaging. I feel that overall the nursery's response to Covid has been good. During Covid times I have felt less connected with the staff as handover now takes place in the
foyer, but it was nice to be able to see what my son has been up to through the parent app. I always enjoy seeing pictures of him having a good time.

The staff have been outstanding with our son who has had some behavioral problems at preschool. They have been excellent with supporting him which has shown with the improvement in his behaviour. We are also very happy with the learning environment as he always comes up telling us the new things he
has learnt for the day and how much fun he has had doing it. Finally, I really appreciate the amount of time the children seem to spend in the garden as our son loves going outside and with full time working from home, its not always easy for us to get out with him during the week!

The team at Co-op Childcare Carterton have been truly welcoming to my youngest daughter. Even the way that after my first pick up they all seemed to know me without asking who's father I was. It really demonstrated a level of attentiveness that made me feel secure in my choice of childcare provider.
My daughter's development seems to have come on leaps and bounds since she started with the nursery back in January and she truly loves going there. It's her clear love for being there and being with the team in there that allows my wife and I to rest easy in the comfort of knowing not only is she being well cared for but she's also thoroughly enjoying herself too!

My daughter has only been going for a short amount of time but so far lovely staff, updates throughout the day are comforting to see and my daughter has settled in great. All thanks to her key worker and the other brilliant staff. There is an on-site chef too which is fantastic!

Our daughter attended Co-op Childcare Carterton from 2017 to 2020 and we've always been very happy with the care and education she received during her time there. Our son started in the baby room in September 2020 and we feel that the nursery has improved further over the last few years and is providing
an excellent early years environment. Our son is receiving a perfect balance of care and stimulating activities. Songs, story time and circle time are an important part of the day, as are real hands-on activities and messy play. He will soon be moving to the next group up and we are very happy with the way his transition is being organised. He already had a number of short and longer sessions with his new group (including morning handovers) and has already started to form a bond with his new key worker, so we feel confident he won't be unsettled when he moves to his new room. Communication with the office is easy and parent feedback is always welcome. A great nursery!

Absolutely amazing nursery, friendly staff and everyone is caring and compassionate. My little girl. Started out over 12 months ago crying and being very unsettled, now she’s confident and shines and expresses regularly that she loves her nursery. I have other children who have been to other nurseries
in the past but none compare to Co-op Carterton. Outstanding. I don’t believe there is a more caring nursery out there.

The staff at the nursery are incredible! Everyone I’ve come into contact with is so welcoming and friendly. I was nervous leaving my little one for the first time as with the pandemic he’d never left my side but they keep me updated via the app and give great handover notes at the end of each day. My
little one has grown in confidence and gets excited every time we enter the car park. They offer a fantastic menu for all meals and provide everything my little one requires. My brother recommended them to me and I’ve recommended them to a friend who’s now booked a virtual tour. There is always someone on hand to answer any questions.
I would highly recommend them!

Our little one started at the Carterton Co-op nursery a little after she turned one, 3 years on and she still loves it. We love the care and education she gets over there. Lovely staff too, every last one of them. We let our little one go to preschool even now because we're confident in their covid
19 protocols and the prompt updates we get. Can't find faults even if I tried. I'd say 10/10 overall.

I have worked for The Co-operative Childcare since 2004, working from a Nursery Practitioner to a Nursery Manager.
I am Level 4 qualified in Childcare.


I have two children who attend our nursery and absolutely love the time they spend here.


Being part of a child's life and watching them grow and develop has to be the most rewarding job in the world.
It is a wonderful feeling knowing a family has chosen our nursery setting to look after their most precious gift.
