At Co-op Childcare Carterton, they have a diverse team of nursery practitioners who bring lots of experience and plan creative activities each day.
They make it a priority to keep parents informed with up to the minute information, and host regular parent panels, so parents can have a say in how they run their nursery. For this, they have a ParentZone app which keeps you informed about what your child has been up to all day including observations, assessments, meals, and even toilet training progress!
All staff are pediatric first-aid trained. They know that little things can make a big difference, so they make sure to give children lots of hands-on experiences. There are areas for growing food (and eating it). Children make regular visits to local care homes and focus on doing their bit for the environment.
Each child will learn all about the environment and their local community through a global eco-schools programme which will make them become a real environmental champion!

About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 52 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 52 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 21.9 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

Just lately he went from being so easy to drop off to a little bit more clingy to me due to his age I think and a phase! But the room manager and the rest of the girls in the room constantly helped with this and really worked with my boy to help him settle in quickly! He now is so much better! As a mum, this was so reassuring for me that my boy is in the best care when away from me - so for that I'm so grateful.
Also, all the different activities and fun play they do is great - all the updates on the app are amazing and again I love seeing my boy so happy!
I would 100% recommend the nursery to anyone thinking of sending their child here.

My son began attending this nursery when he was just over 2 years old. He has loved every single day of nursery and is always full of excitement to see his friends. He has learnt so much, becoming confident in forming relationships, with his speech and trying new things and he has also learned to be independent. The staff have hugely helped with ditching his dummy and providing their recommendations which we have mirrored at home and this has been a huge success! The activities are varied and keep the children occupied and they regularly feedback about my son's favourite interests. I highly recommend this nursery.

Since starting nursery a few months ago my daughter's development has come on so much and most importantly I know she is happy and well looked after there which makes my working day that little bit easier. The nursery have put on special little events to really make the parents feel involved, such as food tasting evenings, parent's evening and a tea party. I highly recommend this nursery.

Our daughter started here in April and has now been in a full time placement for a month now. Drop off and pick-up times are super flexible - drop off and pick up between the opening hours. Food and nappies are included. We've been invited to a parent's evening, a jubilee picnic and to be classroom ambassadors already, so it's safe to say they are very engaging. In addition to that, we get updates almost hourly via the parent app, 3 or more photos a week and updates on nappy changes, sleeps, food and activities. I recommend the nursery and haven't had any problems so far.

I have twin boys that have started attending nursery this year and they couldn't have settled in any better, I was very happy with the transition of them only being at home through Covid lockdowns and only seeing two adults and no other children to attending nursery. They absolutely love attending nursery and have big smiles when they see the staff. Staff are very caring and go above and beyond every day. They give us such brilliant updates throughout the day of what the little ones have been up to and make suggestions on what to practice at home to help engage the child and support their development. One of my children has a disability, which was a really scary time for us and concerning thinking how he would cope in nursery, but my mind was quickly put at ease when I saw how diligent they were and I know now I made the right decision to send him to this nursery. Very happy with everything and highly recommend it to any parent.

Within weeks, her key person started and helped us crack potty training, ditching her dummy and eating lots of different foods she would normally turn down.
I have only positive things to say of our experience. Would absolutely recommend.

The staff in the butterflies room have been wonderful and been so welcoming to my son. They seem to come up with great activities to keep the children occupied and think about the interests that my child has in particular.

My daughter runs in in the mornings and drags her heels when we have to go home at the end of the day, which is obviously a testament to how happy she is there and the fun she has during the day. I would, and do often, highly recommend the nursery to anyone I know and work with.
Our daughter has been at this nursery for nearly a year now. We have gradually built up her time there as she enjoys it so much. The communication throughout the pandemic was especially reassuring. The staff are always extremely friendly and approachable.
Our daughter recently transitioned to a new room and that worked very smoothly. It was great that she had settling in times in the new room to get her used to it and the new staff. Her speech and development have come on leaps and bounds and we enjoy reading through her development frameworks that are shared in detail on the app too.
My daughter has been attending this nursery for three months and absolutely loves going. Her key person, the management and all staff who work with her have worked so hard to help her settle in. She was very reluctant to start with as she hadn't been away from me much since she was born. All of the...
She literally runs to any member of staff who come to greet us in reception. The nursery keep me up to date with her development and next steps so that I can help her progress at home too. The staff plan great activities with the children each day and the facility and resources are very engaging for the children. The nursery opens until 18:30 which is also a huge benefit for my work situation as I need slightly later childcare.
Our son has attended this nursery since he was one and is leaving shortly to start reception. From the day he started, he’s been really happy here and we’ve never had any problems leaving him in the care of the lovely staff at this nursery. I know he will really miss it. We will definitely be...

I look forward to seeing what's been happening during his day through the photos and information logged on the app. The food is varied, healthy and lovingly made by the Chef. Overall this is a super nursery, with friendly and knowledgeable staff, offering fantastic value for money - I would absolutely recommended this nursery to other parents.

I feel that overall the nursery's response to Covid has been good. During Covid times I have felt less connected with the staff as handover now takes place in the foyer, but it was nice to be able to see what my son has been up to through the parent app. I always enjoy seeing pictures of him having a good time.

The staff have been outstanding with our son who has had some behavioral problems at preschool. They have been excellent with supporting him which has shown with the improvement in his behaviour. We are also very happy with the learning environment as he always comes up telling us the new things he has learnt for the day and how much fun he has had doing it. Finally, I really appreciate the amount of time the children seem to spend in the garden as our son loves going outside and with full time working from home, its not always easy for us to get out with him during the week!
The staff make so much effort to connect with the children. My daughter loves her teachers and it’s so clear how much they all care for her and take the time to really get to know her. What else can you ask for?

It really demonstrated a level of attentiveness that made me feel secure in my choice of childcare provider. My daughter's development seems to have come on leaps and bounds since she started with the nursery back in January and she truly loves going there. It's her clear love for being there and being with the team in there that allows my wife and I to rest easy in the comfort of knowing not only is she being well cared for but she's also thoroughly enjoying herself too!
My daughter has only been going for a short amount of time but so far lovely staff, updates throughout the day are comforting to see and my daughter has settled in great. All thanks to her key worker and the other brilliant staff. There is an on-site chef too which is fantastic!

Our daughter attended Co-op Childcare Carterton from 2017 to 2020 and we've always been very happy with the care and education she received during her time there. Our son started in the baby room in September 2020 and we feel that the nursery has improved further over the last few years and is providing an excellent early years environment. Our son is receiving a perfect balance of care and stimulating activities. Songs, story time and circle time are an important part of the day, as are real hands-on activities and messy play. He will soon be moving to the next group up and we are very happy with the way his transition is being organised. He already had a number of short and longer sessions with his new group (including morning handovers) and has already started to form a bond with his new key worker, so we feel confident he won't be unsettled when he moves to his new room. Communication with the office is easy and parent feedback is always welcome. A great nursery!

Absolutely amazing nursery, friendly staff and everyone is caring and compassionate. My little girl. Started out over 12 months ago crying and being very unsettled, now she’s confident and shines and expresses regularly that she loves her nursery. I have other children who have been to other nurseries in the past but none compare to Co-op Carterton. Outstanding. I don’t believe there is a more caring nursery out there.
The staff at the nursery are incredible! Everyone I’ve come into contact with is so welcoming and friendly. I was nervous leaving my little one for the first time as with the pandemic he’d never left my side but they keep me updated via the app and give great handover notes at the end of each day....
I would highly recommend them!
