At Little Pioneers John Radcliffe Hospital there are 5 home rooms within the nursery split into the following age groups: 3 rooms for the 0-2 year olds, one room for the 2-3 year olds and one room for the 3-5 year olds.

They are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. They have an app called ParentZone which keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery with photos of their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress!

They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with children from encouraging them to express their feelings to making a difference in the world. They are big on happy children so they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world.

The nursery are silver eco schools accredited, an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning.

There are four separate garden play areas that are age and developmentally appropriate. The children also have an allotment area where they learn how to take care of plants; fruit, vegetables and flowers and enjoy watching them grow. At the end of the season the children pick and taste the fruit and vegetables which are often used with a cooking activity.

When I first enrolled my child to nursery I was very anxious but those anxieties disappeared within only a few weeks of them attending. My child loved attending nursery and was always happy going in which tells me she had a great time there and that put my mind at ease!

Overall the nursery is good but, in my opinion, more attention needs to be paid in regards to ensuring the children have had adequate nutrition during the day and that accurate reporting is then input on the online application. Also, appropriate clothing needs to be considered when taken children outside
or doing activities with water for example. On the other side, they are very good in the variety of activities the children are exposed to and they pay attention to detail in learning which is invaluable.

My daughter has been at this nursery a few months now and I must say this is an excellent nursery. All of the staff are amazing, very helpful and friendly. This is an all-inclusive nursery so meals, snacks and nappys are included in the price. They even have an on-site chef so they have healthy cooked
meals every day. The key workers make the children's day fun and educational which is amazing. My daughter really enjoys going to this nursery and I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone that wishes to use child care services.

My daughter started here when she was a year old and my partner and I are very happy with the nursery. The staff are all lovely and I trust them, which means I can leave my daughter, knowing that she will be well looked after. There is excellent communication between nursery staff and parents/carers.
We have been very impressed by the high standard of food the children are offered at each mealtime.

Location was primary reason due to working in the hospital and opening hours so helpful particularly early opening compared to many other nurseries.
But the leadership and staff have shown this nursery to care about the children and want to make the nursery a better place. As it has become and continues
to do so. Smaller rooms have worked in their favour I think, with everything required indoors and outdoors in a manageable space.

Our daughter has been attending the nursery for nearly a year now since she was one.
Practically from day one, she has loved it there and doesn’t look back when we drop her off. She even goes to fetch her nursery bag, goes to the door and waves goodbye to us at weekends! From the looks of the app
that keeps us up to date with her sleep, nappy changes and meals, she also seems to love the food!
Knowing that she is well cared for has made going back to work after maternity leave much easier.

My son has a speech delay and had difficulties with social interaction. This is due to suspected, and yet to be diagnosed, autism. However, he has bloomed and thrived under the care of some very special people at Little Pioneers. They've loved him and cared for him as if he were their own. He was at
home at Little Pioneers and it was difficult to say goodbye as he's moved to mainstream school. I can never thank them enough for guiding him through 'toddlerhood' into a 4 year old ready for big school.

My son started with John Radcliffe Co-op Nursery at 1 year of age for 11 months. He had a very happy experience and developed some close bonds with nursery staff. O could see through his personal development at home that his nursery days gave him time to explore and improve his speech skills. The communication
through the parent zone App and gallery were lovely to gain insight into his activities. I was sceptical about nursery at such a young age but I have been really pleased with this experience.

This nursery have been so accommodating and kind. I couldnt be more pleased with the treatment. They adored my daughter and helped me with her so much while I saw to my daughter who is an inpatient in the hospital. The staff really showed their love for her. I can't praise them enough.

Overall, I am really happy with the care that my son receives at the nursery. He has formed really good bonds with the key workers and all staff, has plenty of friends to play with and always seems to have had a good day. The hours of opening are really good for my needs and the managers are always

My daughter and my son have come on leaps and bounds since they started this nursery in September 2018. All the staff are super friendly and kind. My daughter gets excited when I tell her we are going to nursery. She loves going there and seeing all her friends. She has bonded with all the staff and
is not far off from talking properly at two and half years old I think this is a massive achievement. The staff managed to get her to stop sucking on her dummy and talk more, which is something I could never do at home. My sixteen-month-old son is also on track for his age and clearly is very happy attending Little Pioneers. I am proud to say that my children go to this nursery. Thank you for all your hard work.

My baby girl has been attending Little Pioneers Nursery for almost a year, so I can make a reliable review.
She’s not a fussy eater and enjoying most of her food there (apart from the times when teething). She's got familiar with the staff, so morning drop-offs are easier now. The key person which
knows her gives me information on how her day was and also set goals for the next month, so as a parents, we can have an impact on her development.
I am also really delighted to use Parentzone app, as it gives me the possibility to see how my daughter is doing at nursery. The monthly newsletters and emails are useful, as usually, I am not able to attend all meetings.


The entrance is clear and welcoming and activities the nursery offers for Little Adventurers are amazing. My daughter is currently obsessed with the sand and drawing and I am quite happy she’s got the access to open areas in the garden (yes, it’s not big, but it’s hospital site) and indoor sandbox.
