At Little Pioneers John Radcliffe Hospital there are 5 home rooms within the nursery split into the following age groups: 3 rooms for the 0-2 year olds, one room for the 2-3 year olds and one room for the 3-5 year olds.

They are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. They have an app called ParentZone which keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery with photos of their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress!

They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with children from encouraging them to express their feelings to making a difference in the world. They are big on happy children so they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world.

The nursery are silver eco schools accredited, an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning.

There are four separate garden play areas that are age and developmentally appropriate. The children also have an allotment area where they learn how to take care of plants; fruit, vegetables and flowers and enjoy watching them grow. At the end of the season the children pick and taste the fruit and vegetables which are often used with a cooking activity.

Our daughter was initially very negative about going to nursery, but she has been completely won over by the staff who have formed very close and loving relationships with her. She speaks constantly about the other children she has got to know at nursery and loves the large amount of garden space available
to play in.

I am very pleased to see my son so happy and joyful each time I pick him up from the nursery. I think it is an excellent place with wonderful, kind and well trained staff who are all loved by the children. I really appreciate the fact that there is a lot of effort being put into organising various activities
for them, despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Most importantly, they are encouraging learning and development through play. There is a lot of communication, both verbal at the end of the day and updates and pictures on the app, which gives me as a parent a lot of reassurance and security. Overall I am very grateful for the high standard of care that my son has at the nursery especially during such difficult times when I had to focus a lot on work as a Doctor.

My little boy is always happy to go into nursery, and I enjoy being informed of all the fun and activities he has done each day at pick up. Really friendly staff and having a manager at the desk there for drop off and collections is great when you have a question. They have been really flexible with
accommodating extra days when possible. I believe that my son gets a lot out of his time at this nursery, they are able to be creative, messy and make friends. I enjoy hearing him chat about his friends and them saying hello to each other when waiting to enter the nursery. I think the communication through the parent app is great as it's nice to know what they are eating, how well they have slept and see pictures of what they have been up to. They have been really great through lockdown, I feel very pleased that I chose this nursery.

Always professional, quick to respond and child-centred. Little Pioneers is a happy place to drop my child. The team have been phenomenally stoic in the face of adversity and have remained smiling, gentle and patient with the children.
It would be brilliant to be able to be more flexible on adding
extra days but we appreciate this could be very difficult logistically in the current climate.
Overall, we would really recommend the nursery - welcoming bright, friendly and with children at the very centre.

My little boy has been attending this nursery for years and I have always felt that staff have all been fantastic at looking after his physical and mental well being in a safe and engaging environment.
During the lockdown period, I felt that communication was very good and that the nursery kept the
