Sunshine Corner Nursery is run by a well-qualified, kind and caring team who make the most of indoor and outdoor learning environments in order to support positive early years learning.

The nursery offers 57 places a day and all professionals are trained to pursue key EYFS objectives.

Part of the Early Years Alliance, the nursery offers a friendly and secure approach to learning for children aged from birth to five years old.

A team of caring, friendly and qualified staff help each child develop at their own pace in a safe, friendly and fun environment and actively encourage parents to become involved in the life of the nursery.

Sunshine Corner is located in Kent, Canterbury, and was assessed as 'Good' by Ofsted on January 10th 2023.

The nursery is open from 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 51 weeks of the year (closed 1 week for Christmas), excluding bank holidays and three staff training days.

What they've been up to!

The children have been celebrating World Book Day and cultural events.

Impact on children's learning

• Learning about how different cultures have different celebrations and celebrating Martisor, the beginning of Spring.
• Being creative and making their own stories for World Book Day.
• Building on fine motor skills, communication and language and developing imaginations.

The children are still extending their learning by learning how stories are written and have and have a children's author coming to visit.

My daughter started here when she was 18-months-old, and she has loved every day she has attended - no issues, never sad, was always excited. The nursery itself is amazing, and all of their staff! She has learnt so much from Sunshine; they have helped her so much, and I can’t thank them enough! Sad
that today was my daughter last day as she starting big school! She will miss nursery and all her teachers! 100% would recommend! Can’t wait for my little boy to start here! Thank you again.

Very friendly from day one; made our son feel very welcome from day one right the way through until the last. Catered for all his individual needs with lots of communication from all staff. Would definitely recommend this nursery.

I literally couldn’t recommend a better nursery, it’s fantastic. My son is always so happy to go to nursery and can’t wait to get there. He’s even now started to ask to go to nursery on his days off and the weekend, So just shows how much he loves it. I’m kept constantly updated throughout the day on
how he’s doing. I’m super proud every time I see his reports. I literally can’t thank the staff enough for making it fun and my son has learnt so many things and it always coming home and telling me something new. Great outdoor space, where I’m pretty sure my son would be all the time if he could. We are now starting to potty train which the nursery is helping with on the days that’s he’s there, so the support is superb. Would highly recommend it.

Extremely happy with the care provided for my daughter, she comes out after every session extremely happy to tell me about her day always excited to go back for the next session. I’m sad her time at sunshine is coming to an end so soon as she joins school.

Amazing in any aspect. Education, nutrition, activities, support for parents and children! Also becoming plastic-free. Great staff and high standards! My son has asthma and a cow's milk intolerance so they’ve been really great and meet all of his needs. We as a parent we are so happy to see our boy

Sunshine Corner Nursery has exceeded my expectations of a nursery. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond for the children and the parents. I have two children that attend with different needs and they cater to both of them to the fullest. I would definitely recommend them to other parents.

My child has been in this nursery since she was 5-months-old, she is now 4. This nursery is amazing! The staff are so helpful and friendly. My child has learnt so much over the years. I would highly recommend this nursery, all the staff are so helpful and understanding too!

Our daughter has several food allergies, and I have never felt uneasy leaving her in their care. Nothing is too much trouble, and she absolutely loves going to nursery. Fantastic Nursery. Super organised. I can't ask for a better nursery. My son is always happy to go to his nursery despite being a mummy's boy... For me, this nursery is outstanding amongst the few nurseries my son has attended.

Wonderful nursery with lovely, very approachable staff. We have been sending our boy since he was 15-months-old and he absolutely loves it! As first-time parents, we were really concerned and anxious about how he would be in a different environment and with English not being his first language, but
everything was perfect, and we had no tears at all since day one!
The staff are all lovely and will go above and beyond to make sure our boy progresses there and he is happy. Also, they will reassure us when we have any concerns. My boy has settled incredibly well, and I have watched his confidence and independence grow rapidly since he has joined. His little face lights up every time we mention the nursery to him. All the staff have been working so hard during the pandemic to make sure they keep our children safe.


Thank you to the wonderful team for looking after my son. Highly recommend the nursery to friends and colleagues!

My son has health difficulties which are rare. I never feel worried or anxious when I drop him off. They take such good care of him. They are supportive and engaging. I honestly could not recommend this nursery enough. The staff are worth their weight in gold!

Can’t believe it’s my children's last day. We are so grateful to everyone at Sunshine Corner. Thank you! For everything, one of the nursery workers, for her squishy breakfast hugs when my child was feeling grumpy in the mornings. All the staff, all of you and your happy warm smiles, for making the girls
feel so loved and special. For two baby room staff - so many lovely memories, pics and videos in the baby room with my child. We will miss you all.
And of course the key workers, you made nursery such a fun and happy time for both children. They couldn’t wait to come to nursery every day to see you all and play. Keep shining Sunshine Corner because you light up our little one's day.

Both of my children attended Sunshine Corner three days a week until lockdown began. My eldest son is very shy and not great with new people, the staff at Sunshine Corner worked so hard with him to build relationships and his confidence grew no bounds. He went from a full break down when I tried to
leave him in the morning to the occasional need for an extra cuddle. The staff showed great patience and a comprehensive understanding of him as an individual. They have without question been a vital part of the hilarious and confident person my little boy has grown into and I can’t thank them enough.

I can't express how extremely supportive the staff are in the nursery. With all that's going on with Covid-19. They have gone above and beyond their duties as a nursery. They are here to support the whole family and not just the child attending nursery. I couldn't ask for a more fantastic team, they
have given my child the best experience and it's going to be hard for me and my child not attending anymore. I would always have great respect and love for Sunshine Corner and it has been even better since the new manager took over and the assistant manager. My child's keyworker has worked so hard to give her the best start for attending primary school in September.
I will always be grateful. Anyone looking for a nursery, this is the best one. I know because I travel to bring my child to Aylesham.

Staff are brilliant, so friendly, helpful and welcoming. I love being updated on my son's progress whilst at school, and the app is very useful. My son has come on so much, and the staff are very encouraging. The children always have a range of activities to do, and the staff are very creative with
playtimes.
The only niggle I have is with the price of lunches. I don’t mind at all paying for them, I just feel it is a bit expensive, but as he only has lunch twice a week I don’t mind paying it.
